The Playstation Vita Catch-All

Just sent out 12 friend requests to catch up on the Vita spreadsheet. I don't know why, but I get completely addicted to community features. I always look at the friends log on Vita and Steam. If there's any type of community feature in a game it's usually something I like to focus on, be it leaderboards, co-op, or MP. In fact, there's a good amount of games I like, or want to play, but don't because they lack a decent community here.

Am I the only one in the world who thinks gravity rush is awful? The controls make my head spin. Don't like playing it one bit :(

I played it for about an hour and couldn't stand it, beyond the controls the game story and characters just didn't do anything for me.

20 % off memory cards for the vita atm, grab up them 32 gig cards newcomers! (I also threw this in the game deal catch-all)

Awful is a bit strong a word, I am keeping at it to see if maybe I can break through the wall. I do really like the art style but I really can't wrap my head around the combat. Why is it making me take my hands off the controls to swipe the screen to evade?? I also struggle managing that gravity timer resource while messing with orientation everytime i go zero grav.

Evade - You can swipe anywhere on the screen, and it only takes a tiny swipe. I've never had to take my hand off the controls to do it, I just swipe the lower left corner with my left thumb, and it works. Give that a try, see if it makes things easier.

I basically did that. Combined with the motion control over aiming Gravity Rush was almost as much fun as Crackdown for me. I really really liked it for the gameplay.

The 20% off brings them down enough to be competitive with Amazon's normal pricing.

EDIT: I take that back. Amazon had been running $80 for a 32GB card and jumped to $90 sometime over the last 2 days.

Yeah it kinda bounces between 80-90 on amazon, I got it for 72 a while back, felt like a badass that day.

I got a bit of the Crackdown vibe, as well, although it was Crackdown cloaked in Japanese school girl clothing...

Crackdown was just a tad sexier I think. Maybe its just me.

Gravity Rush is still my game of the year! I would suggest holding the Vita a tad farther away from your face until you get used to the crazy, constantly changing perspective visuals. I used the button to right the camera a lot at the start until I got the hang of it. Exploring the town to get gems is simple, yet oh so satisfying!

Yeah, I guess I should have pointed out that it is the annoying super-girly adolescent angst kind of Japanese school girl rather than the really sexy kind.

Same, I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did.

Anyone downloaded 2.01? Anything worthwhile?

It said it fixes the ps+ save auto upload feature.

Yup - was great to check the vita this morning and see the confirmation that saves were uploaded

Picked up DJ Max Technika Tune tonight off of PSN. My Vita is loaded with hundreds of hours of amazing games with others that I had to delete and will hopefully get to someday. This really is an incredible machine with a diverse set of experiences to be had.

I saw that released, let me know what you think and if it's worth it's $45 price tag.

Anyone buy the Uncharted card game? I downloaded it but haven't' gotten to it yet.

I'll report back. I probably won't have the most objective point of view. I love playing stuff on the Vita so that adds a few points. I really loved Ouendan. And I think K-Pop is super entertaining. So far the coolest revelation (aside from the fact that most songs so far have full-fledged music videos behind them) is that you play everything on the touch screen. So it's very much like an Ouendan.

Oh man, I would swoon if an Ouendan game came out for Vita. Bonus swoon if it has Phoenix Wright + Elite Beat Agents set to Queen:

Technika Tune appears to be very similar to my initial impressions of Cytus, which I just picked up in the app store last week. If it really is all touchscreen, I'll probably just remain content with DJ Max P3, as that's where my fun is had.

Completely agree with that!

According to a friend of mine, the Powerstone Collection on PSP is now out for Vita, but requires a manual transfer via the PS3, at least for the moment.

JOY!!!!

I might actually quit out of Persona 4 Golden to play this.

I don't know if it's dumb to be excited about this game but I am.

I like the 'from the developers of Sega Bass Fishing', my immediate thought on seeing the vid was - it's bass fishing on a dream cast!

I already said way up thread that it will be a day 1 purchase for me. I love fishing games!

Ha! It looks like Pangya for fishing. I'm in.

I've never played a fishing game before (besides the Zelda minigames haha)... Im Intrigued...

I don't think so. I've been tempted to import it.

I've never really played a fishing game before and I'm really intrigued by the idea of one. The last thing I really tried to play was this oddity. So, yeah, it feels weird and I get a sense that I don't know why I'm hawking this game so much.
