Is anyone still interested in beating Wave 666? I really like this map.

I'd be interested in trying. But alas I won't really have time this weekend.

I would also like to take another crack at 666 and I am free.

Cyranix, we've been talking about this and it needs to happen. Set a time and I'm in; I'm free *most* of the weekend, though Saturday evening would be best.

You missed out, he raided the pub last night for people to do it with.

We got past the first wave of tanks, but then the game broke up. Still not sure what the best team is. We had 2 soldier heavy 1 demo 1 engie 1 pyro. I almost feel like 4 soldier one engie one pyro might be the way to go, with the pyro mostly hiding, poofing and getting the big cash money wad.

There isn't much time to set up stickies effectively and heavies seem to have mobility issues (improve run speed?).

I think I'll be available for some pre-MNMK* fun times; look for me in the private MvM server in a little bit. It's tough for me to coordinate, T-Prime, because TF2 time is mostly determined by whenever my wife is not around.

After a fair amount of practice, I find that there are really only two super-hard parts: the spy rush and the ultra-heavies with medics at the very end. Last night I managed to take my own advice and jump atop a tank with three crit canteens, which is perhaps all the advice I can give: get to high ground and keep your back to a wall or open air, attacking anyone who approaches, until you can make it to the top of a tank. The spy rush comes around 45% through, so try to get your canteens early if you can (and if you're a vertically challenged class, a point in move speed maybe). The fence that runs along the map width (near the pit, back side of the center building) would probably be a good high ground for heavies and demos. Another alternative tactic might be moving as a very tight pack, so the spies are always coming towards you; pyro might be able to sweep the back and sides while the others focus on tanks. As for the final tank + ultra-heavies... I don't have the slightest clue. They tear me apart even with full bullet and crit resist. Perhaps a medic with loads of ubers can do the trick?

* Monday night manne-killing

The problem with jumping on the tank as soldier or demo is you explode yourself.

the quick fix prevents pushback right? And a medic could still uber cus they share canteens with heal target.

Also, Isn't is the case that you can switch load outs and classes mid wave (although you would have stock weapons)

Yes, being on top of the tank is bad for soldiers and demos (unless the demos are throwing stickies in front of the tank). Those classes should probably find vantage points: atop thin ledge walls (on right front building and front of central building), atop fence near middle pit, etc. The other issue is that there are a lot of tanks so people need ammo refills and canteens -- riding a tank isn't a permanent solution but keeps you out of harm's way as long as possible.

You can switch weapons mid-wave but you really don't want to -- invest in a good loadout and stick to it, I say. No class changes when the map is in progress.

EDIT: And Steam updated super slowly, so I've likely missed my TF2 window for tonight.

Aye, replace wife with girlfriend and I'm in the same boat. If it's not the weekend and you see me on, my girlfriend is probably at work.

I'm not totally certain what that overlay was - it looked a little like the luchador mask at the time, but now I'm not so sure.

It seemed like it had been a long time since the server wasn't just constant rolls. It was a nice change of pace.

Watch your step. Don't want to break the streak of days without an accident. The owners seem proud.

Ehehe, I was trying to get a screenshot at the same time. You were crouching and stabbing him and from my angle your knife wasn't visible so it looked like you were giving him a hand job.

OMG HUGE UPDATE!!!!

Spoiler:

Updated to support Big Picture mode. So not really, although 175Mb for this is not small either

Totally off topic, but how mean would it be if I replied to one of my mom's random emails with this?
