Post a picture of your pet!

Sorry Light. I have a little bit of a cat who wants to be a dog. He howls at night sometimes. Chews my wife's shoes. Eats anything he can sneak and get. As much of a pain as he is, most nights he curls up in our laps on the couch and snuggles all the mischief away.

Poor doggy. Rest in peace, Tippy. My condolences, Prozac.

Sorry to hear, Bender, sounds a lot like my little guy. He follows me around everywhere and carries things in his mouth to me. Also, he likes SunDrop, which is always a good thing

Sorry Bender. I'm feeling you.

Sorry to hear about your kitty.

Never leave your coat unguarded. Or on the floor.

The problem with my cat's bum is that it is on my mousepad.

Our new puppy, Oberon.

We are picking him up from the rescue dog transport service tonight. We can't wait!

We think he is a Saint Bernard/Great Pyrenees mix.

He's about 26 pounds at 10-12 weeks old, so we're thinking he'll be a big boy. These were taken after his neutering.

Naw, that's Ganelon.

We're big fans of the Iron Druid series. No, he's not an Irish Wolfhound, but we felt he was more of an Oberon than a Mouse.

Congratulations Nevin! I want to cuddle him, he looks adorable. Must. Resist. Cuteness.

Yeay! My household is waiting on the next book this month with great anticipation.

Sadly, the wife and I both think Hearne is overusing Oberon in the last couple of stories. We both liked him better as a minor character with the occasional incredibly funny comment instead of this shift where he's fully human in intelligence and has as many lines of dialog as a human character.

His name fits him.

The couch doesn't.

How big is that dog?!

He's actually not that big. He's a standard poodle, but a smaller one at around 55lbs.

He's laying on a futon behind my desk in my office which isn't all that big. I guess the perspective is a little off.

Here's a better one for scale:

Wow. I didn't realize it was a futon. Yeah, that makes it less crazy. Unless you had a poodle crossed with a Great Dane.

After two years of treating an infection in his mouth with oral steroids and antibiotics, we had all but two of Big Darryl's teeth pulled last Monday. The infection and swelling in his gums went away almost immediately, and the next day, he was ravenous and playful with everyone in the vet's office, who all loved him. He got to come home Tuesday afternoon.

By Thursday morning, he hadn't eaten anything since coming home, so we decided to take him back to the vet's to have him checked out. He still didn't want to eat there, so they put him on an IV and fed him via syringe, which he seemed to be able to keep down. They thought he might have a kidney infection that would go away with antibiotics.

Saturday, I took Yellow Kitty in to get a bump on his nose and tail checked out, and to get an update on Big Darryl. The vet told us his kidneys were failing, and there was a chance he might die this weekend. If he sent him home and took him off the IV, he'd definitely die, but it wasn't a foregone conclusion, or he'd recommend putting him down then and there.

I got to go back to where they were keeping him and talk to him for about a half hour, until they were about to close. He looked pretty out of it, with his tongue hanging out, which I thought was due to the painkillers they had him taking. I told him he'd be feeling better soon, that we loved him, and not to go anywhere until his mom and I got to come visit him Monday morning. Like most cats, he didn't listen.

About halfway home, the vet called and let me know he had died a few minutes after I left, and that it had been like he was waiting to see me before he could let go. Even though they'd closed for the day, the vet stayed so we could come back and say goodbye.

Thank you for 12 1/2 great years, Big Stuff. You were the first baby I ever held, and the closest thing I'll have to a son. Because of your personality, we always thought you were a little man in a fur suit. We'll always miss you, buddy.

Oh Bonus, that's terrible. You must be devastated.

So sorry to hear.

Sorry to hear it. We lost a beloved pet this past summer and it hurts bad.

I'm so sorry, Bonus. I'm glad you were able to have 12 wonderful years with him.

So sorry, Bonus. He looks like a two-eyed version of Ash
