Time to drink the doughnuts...

Meh, we don't post often enough in here. Sorry for the double.

OK, these marketing tie-ins are getting out of hand. New Zealand arranges for Mt. Doom to erupt just in time for the premiere of The Hobbit

Could NZ please stop falling apart? =(

They're only 30 minutes from my house! But I would have to drive. Doughnuts aren't exactly a great hiding spot from the cops. We need brussel sprout shots for that.

They also have a stall at the French Market under Ogilvie station. They're my go-to paczki place.

You shouldn't have told me that. Now they're just a 20 min train ride away. Maybe Thanksgiving will distract me and I will forget. Otherwise, drunk train pastry express here I come.

You're welcome.

I'll probably get shot for admitting this, but I fell asleep during Empire.

Not if you shoot first.

Get your ass to Mars!

I'd consider it, but I bet the lag on the Internet would be really bad so maybe not.

What kind of name is Elon Musk? Sounds like a skeezy cologne.

Japan unveils 4-ton, rocket launching, "transformer" robot

Hopefully they included the "do not listen to SkyNet" code...

So it fires 5000 BBs per minute when it sees the pilot smile, AND it's equipped with a targetting system to keep the torso aligned with the target? What could possibly go wrong??

Oh well... at least I know what I'll be doing once I win tonight's PowerBall drawing.

Edit: Darn, maybe next time.

Not only is that video hilarious, but I freakin' want one! Even at 10 kph (6 mph), it would make my commute so much more enjoyable.

I've been following the Kuratas for a while now. They just recently added custom paint schemes to the order form. Some of the included schemes are Gundam and Evangelion 01

Do they say anything about price? Not that I could ever realistically afford one, but it would be nice to dream.

Sticking with the sci-fi theme for the day:

Fascinating read.

I remember Michio Kaku mentioning this concept on a short-lived TV show on the Science channel a few years ago, but it's awesome to see that it's now enterting an experimental phase.

Fox TV Chief: We have our head up our ass

Make of that what you will.

US govt. promises world won't end on 21 Dec, 2012.

Let's be honest. The people who believe it will happen aren't going to change their minds due to this. The people would listen to this don't believe the world is going to end.

I'll bet you a dollar the world doesn't end 21 Dec at any odds you care to name.

Only a dollar? The idea is inherently ludicrous.

I was actually having a discussion with someone at work today about how silly the Mayan apocalypse is. I thought we were on the same page until he said "yeah, it's stupid misunderstanding of mythology. The world will only end when Jesus wants it to."
I facepalmed.
