And with that post, I became an Executive.

That is the best possible way to earn a promotion.

Usually people doing the crappiest job get promoted

Some of this I knew already, some I did not:

On the toilet tissue issue, it used to take me a month to go through a single roll of TP when I had my own bathroom. Now that I'm married, 1 roll is lucky to last a week in each of our 2 bathrooms.

One of my favorite commands in OS X (open) has an equivalent on the Windows command prompt:

start .
Opens the working directory in Explorer
start capture.jpg
Opens the image in your default JPG viewer
start readme
Opens the "select a program to open this with" dialog since it lacks an extension

I still use these in command line of Total Commander. type . and bam, you have the folder open in Explorer. Plus all the common DOS commands such as attrib. Old habits die hard.

I've had a router for about 3 years and the thing keeps falling out of it's stand. I thought it was just a rubbish stand so I just kept putting it back in. Got a new router from my ISP today and while I was packing up the old one I noticed that I've had the router upside down all this time and there are slots for the stand on the other side. Face->palm.

It seems my pc monitor has built in speakers. Took me a year to realize this.

I just learned that "Natch" is short for naturally.

I've never used it, but I've seen it around a lot. You know how words take on context in your head as you experience them over time, and eventually they naturally settle into a meaning that's usually pretty correct as time goes on? Natch seemed a lot more magically before I looked it up... It's a slang abbreviation, not some esoteric bit of language as I assumed.

I'm so disappointed.

Blender + Mason Jar = win

Really? Ugh.

Super Paper Mario is distilled essence of awesome, and is a great platformer for puzzle/adventure game players. I watched Bad Mojo play some of it several years back. It was interesting to watch, but it took playing it to realize that I've been missing out on a title that was made just for people like me.

And Naitch is short for The Nature Boy, Ric Flair.

Indeed. Now I just need to fix my blender. Two of the teeth broke off of the blender.

I did not know that Mason jars were developed for pickle processing.

You can welcome me, too. I've never heard "natch" spoken by anyone, and only seen it written here in these forum posts.

It's always weird for me when this happens... makes me feel that I completely missed some common part of the world, somehow... like I've been driving around America my whole life and only just now noticed this thing called "McDonalds".

Anyway, if you need me, I'll be in my cave mending saber-tooth pelts and working on the wall painting.

My wife was watching The Wonder Years today and someone said "natch" on it.

Only old people say "natch".

Stan Lee used to say "Natch" all the time. He had his Soapbox that he would write in most every Marvel Comic.

Clover is old.

I learned that in order to install new graphic drivers for AMD you need to uninstall the old drivers manually or the whole computer crashes and you get BSOD. AMD why can you not have an automatic uninstall and install like everyone else?

As far as I know, till recently (last 2 years?), you couldn't install new Nvidia drivers over old ones either. You had to uninstall them manually.
Some people still do so for a 'cleaner' install of the new drivers.

My personal experience has taught me that removing display drivers is *almost* as hard as removing antivirus programs, and equally as important.

That's not been my experience. I just hit "update" in either the downloaded AMD driver set, or let Steam manage the whole thing. Works like a duck.
