NFL 2012 Week 12 Thread (Updated with Pick 'Ems)

Pick 'Ems

Titans at Jaguars: Last week, my Jags pick came SO CLOSE to ruining all your precious little 5-0s! SO CLOSE DAMMIT. And after all that teasing! Well, they're just going to have to take it out on Gumbie's Titans this week. Justin Blackmon started playing like the top overall rookie WR last week, and the run defense showed up and handily contained Arian Foster. The pass D... well, they can't all be winners, but there's no Andre Johnson on the Titan sideline. It's Jaguars time.

49ers at Saints: IT'S COLIN KAEPERNICK TIME! 49ers

Seahawks at Dolphins: Seattle's defensive domination continued last week, as they pitched a shutout against Bye. They won't exactly have their toughest test this week, as the Miami offense hasn't scored more then 20 points in 3 weeks. It's going to be rough for Ryan Tannehill, who has struggled significantly after a few hot weeks. I don't think this is a get-back-on-track week for him. Seahawks

Falcons at Buccaneers: Tampa is sure making things interesting. On the backs of Doug "Muscle Hamster" Martin and Josh "Second Helping" Freeman, Tampa is on a 4 game winning streak. Atlanta, though, is still sitting pretty atop the division at 9-1, though they continue to look vulnerable each week. If Tampa wants any chance of chasing down the Falcons, they have to win here, and bring the race within 2 games. Then they'll get Atlanta again in week 17. That would be an exciting division race... but I expect a rebound by Atlanta.

And our wildcard pick comes via Phone-A-Boogle:
Raiders at Bengals: "The boogle, in his infinite wisdom, has decided the final pick of the week shall be Raiders vs Bengals. Why you ask? Because I have Andy Dalton in a fantasy league and I'll be damned if I don't make everyone watch this game with me. I like the Raiders to beat the 6 point line, the Bengals to win, and the under (48). Boogle picks everything! (Except for picking up women)." I'm not sure if I was supposed to include that last line. Bengals

Go Texans!

Happy Turkey/Football Day!

How is that not reviewable?

Now I want DET to lose but what is going on?
When is a scoring play now reviewable? I thought all scoring plays were automatically reviewed.

He was clearly down

That is an idiotic rule.

They're saying that he threw the flag illegally so it couldn't be reviewed.

Once again the NFL is dumb for using challenge flags to start with. Just f*cking review the plays. Making it a game within the game on when you can and can't challenge is bullsh*t if you actually cared about getting the plays called correctly.

Didn't you know the replacement refs are filling in while the actual refs grab a turkey sandwich?

Ah JJ Watt, doing his thing.

Yeah I think because it was a penalty then Detroit couldn't gain an advantage on the play so it's not reviewable. A pretty stupid rule. You would think the most important thing is to get the call right.

Apparently, throwing a challenge flag inappropriately makes the play I reviewable. Terrible rule.

That said, there was EGREGIOUS pass interference the previous play, Suh is getting free nut-shots on our QB...whatevs.

Again, bad rule, correct call (except for missing that the runner was down in the first place).

Completely true.

Man I hate NFL-style overtime.

Edit: Twice in 5 days.

Ah, defense. Houston has a great shot now.

Don't worry, I've already brought up how Matt Schaub threw an INT during sudden death on Sunday.

Happy Thanksgiving.

If that Suh kick isn't reviewed with a suspension as a result, I just don't get it. That is unbelievable. Didn't get there when it might have looked accidental, so he gives it a second effort.

Uh oh.

Oh yes! Either way, really.

This morning, my brother said he wouldn't trade Schaub for Brady or Manning, which I thought was nuts.

Right now, I'd trade him for Stafford.

Kicking on third down. Missed!

Happy Thanksgiving Detroit.

Right in the turkey giblets

So wait what? Schwartz threw the flag which meant the Refs who were going to review a scoring play then couldn't?

That helps my Scwartz to be fired wager

Correct.

Run it up RG3, run it up.

Nothing better than a Dallas loss on Thanksgiving.

Yikes... Took cowboys. Not watching but that's an embarrassing score so far. Garrett is on watch :p

Correct.

The same thing happened Sunday on a turnover. I think in the Atlanta game. How much money is Schwartz being paid this year to know the rules and pay attention to things like that happening five days before?

The only thing I hate about it is that it's the Redskins. The damn sports media around here are going to be insufferable for the next 10 days.

I need to go fill up on podcasts.

Yeah, but that's worth the cowboys losing. Always.

Only thing better than the cowboys losing is the longhorns losing, which is now in process
