Steam Winter Sale 2012 - Seriously Guys, It Was Over Two Months Ago! Move Along!

Luckily (not really lucky) I just spent the last of my cash fixing my bike, so I'll need to hold off till the Holiday Sale to get in on the action.

There's not much I'm inclined to get, a few Indies and such, definitely some gifting.

In the same boat, MrDeVil...super strapped for cash, so gonna hold off.

Yepyep, I can't purchase anything this time either. I still find it fun to follow the sales, though.

Just an FYI that the 2 are not related other than "zombies". Characters are different, stories are different. I'd play the game first. It's shorter. First 4 episodes take 8-10 hours probably. Then again, the series draws you in REAL quickly so if you watch an episode or 2 on TV you'll be hooked. Or your hubby will be if you've already watched some.

New flash deals:
Rage 75% off, Dead Island 66%, Rail simulator 66%

Rage is kind-of tempting, but I'm still put off by the 22 gigabyte size for an apparently so-so game.

Yoink!

Been waiting for this one to go that low. So-so is fine with me at that price point. I think I remember it being mechanically fine as a shooter, but just dumb at the story/plot level.

[EDIT] - Zoinks! I guess it has gone that cheap before. Apparently I already own Rage.

I think my Steam sales issues are even worse than I thought. I'm a long time buy-now-thinking-I'll-play-later person, but my pile is now too big to remember I've recently bought things? Oh dear.

Well, you are old. It could be that. But go ahead and blame the Steam sale. Sure, that's the problem.

Wait! Maybe it was a gift from a past sale.

Yeaahh. That's the ticket. It was probably a gift.

No I don't remember who it was from! I'll check with my wife . . . . Morgan Fairchild . . . . whom I've seen naked!

Back to real sales talk - since I'm not buying Rage - any enabling on Two Worlds II?

Haven't finished a decent RPG for a LONG time (closest being Mass Effect 2) but this has been on my wish list for a while since it was praised on a Conference Call.

Alright you guys... Witcher 2, bought. Now I just need to go have the school update my OS so I can play the sucker.

Ya bunch of enablers...

I'm waiting to see if the games I want go on flash sale or today's sale rather than the holiday sale to see if I can squeeze out my money just a little bit more. Come the 27th (or is it the 26th?) however, my wallet will feel the pain.

Can't decide if I should go in on The Walking Dead on the Daily Deal now or wait to see if it comes up on a Flash Sale (I remember getting screwed by something similar with Civ 5 or something last time around...).

Decisions.

Haven't seen flash deals going lower than dailies. All that I remember had the same price, so I'd say go for it.

Mysteriously, Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition is also on Flash Sale for $5 (75% off), but it's not listed as such in the front page flash sale section. (source) Expires Thursday morning at 10 AM PST.

Also: The Wishlist button on the main page is back. Nice.

Gyah... I was going to try and make Skyrim the only Bethesda game I bought this sale, but $5 is too good a price. Skyrim might have to wait until Christmas. Thanks for posting this one though.

Do you guys think x-com, Dawnguard or fallen enchantress will drop to 50% ?

Big no on X-Com. It's on the front page, on a daily deal, with a timer that ends tomorrow. It's not going cheaper.

Anything beside the 6 games on daily deal and 6 games on flash sale mightgo cheaper though.

Yeah just buy it. That's the cheapest price it's ever been. Last sale it was $15. And the final episode just came out this week, so you can play it to completion.

I would like to throw my vote behind Mark of the Ninja. It would be nice if it would come down in price, but I think it's totally worth $11.25. I paid $15 for it on XBLA and I feel like I got more than my money's worth. If you haven't played it, I support the decision to buy now.

Thanks for the heads up. I've already warned him that it happens in the Walking Dead universe, and that it's completely distinct from both the series (which we've both watched, him up to season 2 and I'm completely up to speed on) and the comics (which neither of us have read, but I've read about). I've just heard so much praise on TWD game, both here on the podcast, and elsewhere (The Escapist podcast IIRC). He's agreed on the principle of playing through the story together, but the question remains: am I going to be patient enough to wait for him to find time to play with me, or am I just going to jump in ahead?

I'm sorry, I don't mean to poke fun, but that's absolutely hilarious. I laughed so hard, I choked on my tea. That could totally happen to me though.

The Dead Island GOTYE just came up on a flash sale, I'm kinda tempted to pick that up for some reason (and here I thought I was sick of zombie games after all the L4D I've played).
And I've also half a mind to pick up the Civ5 DLC Gods and Kings, now that I've noticed it was on sale.
Also, Mark of the Ninja, everyone keeps saying it's awesome...

I think I need an intervention.

Does anyone want a copy of STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl?

Company of Heroes $2.49
Of Orcs and Men $19.99
Garry's Mod $2.49

New flash sales for 12 hours.

CoH probably includes complete set if you click through.

Somebody take Jasonofindy up on his generosity. I've only played it for a bit since JohnKillo gifted it to me yesterday, but it's really good so far, and the Stalker Complete mod makes it look better than a 2007 game.

It doesn't. Complete is $12.48.

Well I didn't mean complete for $2.49. But the complete set is also 75% off.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Still, a great price on a great game.

I've been buying for my Secret Stan, but not for me. I'll break eventually. I always do.

I have an extra copy of Dungeon Defenders up for grabs, if anyone (not coffee grinder) wants.

Jasonofindy wrote:

I most definitely would!

And I think I've found a taker for me free Civ5, so happy days all round!

Which is considered the best of the new vegas dlc ?

In order, I liked Old World Blues, Honest Hearts, Lonesome Road, then Dead Money in dead last. If you can only get one, get OWB.
