Holy crap, Witcher 2 for $12

Witcher 2 was one of the games I paid full price for and felt like it was a bargain. That is a steal.

Oh man... you're not making this easy.

Jill, seriously -- it's one of the finest games of the current era, and that is an excellent price. I'm GWJ's cheapest, scroogiest, penny-pinching-ist member and even I bought it for the bargain price of $30.

What's strange, though, is that it's the lowest it's ever been on Steam and not a daily deal. The Witcher 2 is huge -- it's the 12th best seller right now, with no promotion -- and will probably receive a daily deal, either now or in a month. But there's really nowhere to go except for maybe 66% and $10.

Wait, you're on a Mac, right? Buy this game if you like games and enjoy having fun on your Mac.

Dear Esther $2.49
Two Worlds $7.49
Dungeon Defenders $3.74

Avoid DD unless you want to buy a bunch of DLC... Ugh.

That's actually Two Worlds 2 for $7.49. Interesting to note that for the same price you can get the game with some DLC.

Fixed. Sorry, didn't exactly mouse over it, just saw the 3 new deals. They're not on my wish list, and I already have Dear Esther. Just putting it out there for people.

Don't think I'll be awake in 5 hours when the new deals cycle. *yawn*

Whoops! Missed KOTOR 2 at that low, low price!

Yeah, I haven't played DD very much, but I found it quite console-y, but then again I have a hard time subbing out my mouse for a controller.

I'm going to put $50 in my wallet and will gift it all away ( once I get my wife's approval ) so make sure your wishlists are up to date, because I don't just put the pile in front of me for all to grab, I like to secretly pile it on the unsuspecting.

JohnKillo is a man of his word. Thank you, sir.

Holy cow! You guys who talked about your wishlists are right. Just checked mine and noticed that 90% of the stuff I want is on sale. Time to think about this and maybe make a purchase tomorrow. The excitement over the discounted wishlist might make me spend more than I should

I would encourage everyone to check their wishlists, might find a deal or two in there!

XCOM is still a bit pricey for me, and I know I won't have time to play it in the weeks to come, so I might just wait until the holidays roll around, but Walking Dead looks really, really tempting...

World of Goo and Audiosurf are discounted, and cost less than three euros, I definitely recommend those.

Will there still be a Christmas sale? If so I might completely skip this sale.

Already 11 pages ? whoa. Well tagging myself and hoping to see something I want this year.

I don't need anything but you never know!

Yeah feeling the same way. Even if it's the same price in a month, at least I'll have spent all my Christmas shopping by then.

Yes. I thought the dates were in the OP here, but maybe not, or they got edited out?

They were definitely in the regular Deals thread. Dec something...

Dec 20 to Jan 4 if I remember correctly.

Thanks guys. I'll be ignoring this sale then.

Ok, since this thread is as good as any, I'm giving away:
Civ V
Natural Selection 2
Breath of Death VII
Cthulhu Saves the World
Cogs
Defense Grid

PM me with the one you want.

I'll take Defense Grid off your hands if no one else wants it.
Also, friendly reminder I have copies of Dota2 to give away.

Pricing out the Saints Row 3 DLC that I need and I might as well just buy the full package game.

Half Minute Hero at $6 or 40% off is a great price for a great game.

Before the rampant gift giving begins again, I wanted to get a quick opinion on last summer's sale. I gifted out 10 copies of Thief (either 1 or 2) to goodjers that said they were interested, but I didn't see any feedback that anybody actually played it. I don't regret it of course, but did anybody actually play either game based on gifting last summer, at least past the tutorial level?

The reason I'm asking is, I have a hard time gauging how interesting decade old games are to people who've never played them. If they're a waste of gift money I'll stick to gifting more recent games.

Looking forward to another turkey gravy fueled orgy of wanton giving and receiving. Ew, that just sounded...eww.

Fallen Enchantress = 33 % discount and mods available via nexus.
you sir have a deal!

Flash sales, Daily sales, week long sales, I hate the idea of buying a 33% off game only to have it as a flash sale a few days later at 50 or 75% off

Do you guys think x-com, Dawnguard or fallen enchantress will drop to 50% ?

Civilization mini dlc,I would like to get the dlc civs but i dont play scenarios, maps i can get via mods (im a strictly 4000bc starter kinda guy) so even at 50% *2.5usd the mini one new Civ and one scenario dlc doesnt seem that good to me,
reckon they bundle all the mini dlc soon for a mega everything for 10usd ish deal?

Which is considered the best of the new vegas dlc ?

Hoping against hope to see Scribblenauts Unlimited drop. Otherwise I'll probably just stick to possibly picking up Hero Academy, Krater, and DLC for Orcs Must Die 2 and Sanctum. Gonna wait to see if Torchlight 2 makes it to a flash deal.
Alas, the mysterious gift-giving creature called Eldon will not be making an appearance until the winter/xmas sale.

Mysteriously, Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition is also on Flash Sale for $5 (75% off), but it's not listed as such in the front page flash sale section. (source) Expires Thursday morning at 10 AM PST.

Also: The Wishlist button on the main page is back. Nice.

So 16 of the things on my wishlist are on sale.

Or, to put that another way, all of the things on my wishlist are on sale.

I am in the process of advising in-laws who, inexplicably, find me difficult to christmas-shop for.

Velvet Assassin is $1.24.
I'm buying to see how the game failed. I was really interested in this title when it came out originally.

VA goes on my 'not bad' list. It's a serviceable, but fairly plain stealth game. For what it's worth when I got to the end I ended up looking at the developers to see if they did anything more like it.

OK, as someone above, I also have a copy of CiV 5 to give away.

Only purchases so far has been Skyrim Hearthfire, and a 4-pack of PayDay: The Heist for £11. Hoping for some multiplayer fun, even if the game isn't the best - haven't heard anything about it?

Need some more multiplayer goodies, and some long-winded single player games. Is The Witcher worth a shot, or just shoot straight for The Witcher 2? Hoping the Stalker bundle will go to 75% either this time or the winter sale. I'm sure I could not buy anythíng else and wait a month.. but I'm willing to admit I have no willpower left this year..

In my opinion they're both good, but TW2 has a fair bit less 'jank' about it, less running around busy jobs, etc. You don't need to play TW1 first, but it sets up a lot of things.

Witcher 1 - I couldnt get into it myself, If you have problems with outdated graphics and old fashioned UI then I would skip it, if not I know loads of people who rave about it.
BTW I loved Witcher 2, and the story while incredibly deep and clever doesn't need for you to know all about the first game (however i did browse the Witcher 1 Wikipedia page before playing Witcher 2 )

Thanks! it's 60% off until the end of the sale, so I'll wait on it just now incase it goes to the full whack.

New flash deals:
Rage 75% off, Dead Island 66%, Rail simulator 66%

Rage is kind-of tempting, but I'm still put off by the 22 gigabyte size for an apparently so-so game.

Well, I got the Hearthfire DLC for Skyrim (I know, it's little more than horse armor, but what the heck), and The Walking Dead. Really looking forward to The Walking Dead, now I need to try and strong-arm hubby into watching and playing it together...

How about installing and deleting local content when you're done? That's what I ended up doing with my larger, completed games to free up disk space.

Oh, hey, I have a copy of DOTA, if anyone wants it.
