Didn't the 49ers o line play fairly poorly last year?

I remember a game vs Baltimore? Who's actually not that great at sacking and Suggs had a field day.

It's strange cause if you look at the saints vs giants game for Smith it's night and day. There's an obvious huge gulf between those defenses but at the same time it was like watching Montana to uhhh (insert qb were making fun of this week).

I think Smith improved last season just at the right time to make it impossible for them to make the switch. Especially when you consider ints. That D and a serviceable qb who doesn't turn the ball over is a recipe you don't want to ruin.

Hate to rain on the 5-0 parade but it was an easy week.

6 people went 14-0 in my pool this week...

The results show it to be an easy week, but how close were the Bucs, Cowboys, Texans and Redskins to losing their respective games?

Yes, I know the Redskins game wasn't close, I just wanted a good chuckle as I read that back

*EDIT*
Spekaing of the Eagles, Marcus Vick is back to tweeting, despite "strict" orders from his brother to stay off twitter.

The funny thing about this is, that even in a (3-7) season, Andy Reid has produced way more in the NFL this year than Marcus Vick will ever in his lifetime. #dolphinspracticesquad4life

They were not nearly as good last year as this year, no.

That's why Adam Snyder and Chilo Rachal are gone. (Rachal starts on that Bears offensive line that the 49ers slammed around).

The replacement of those two guys plus the significant improvement of Anthony Davis (the most recent of the 1st rounders) has transformed that line.

There are 3 games tomorrow.. are we skipping them in the picks?

We'd have to have a new thread to make picks.

I'm 5-0 for 2 weeks in a row too!

Yay for breaking through .500

Gabbert goes to IR.

The development of the past few weeks was promising, but you can't get better if you're not on the field. He really needed these last few weeks of the season.

Figures, now Tennessee's horrible defense gets hot handed Henne and a Justin Blackmon who figured out how to catch passes.

Extremely short week for the Texans, playing at 11:30 tomorrow. I hope they've got more in the tank than they did on Sunday.

BREAKING: Jim Harbaugh has informed Alex Smith that Colin Kaepernick will start Sunday, per source. Said decision not based on health.

And so it begins*.

Yeah that rolled across the ESPN ticker a few min ago. Oh boy.

Pretty bold move. This is either that awesome moment in the Super Bowl winner's highlight DVD, or it's the decision that Harbaugh will bet trashed on KNBR all offseason for.

I wish the 49ers were in any other division, because they are a team I'd love to root for.

As a Seahawks fan, I'm not loving the move to Kaepernick long-term. He has a huge upside and if he continues to play like he did against Chicago I'm going to hate seeing him twice a year. However, I'm hoping that there are growing pains and/or locker room turmoil at key moments in tough games (like against the Patriots and Seahawks this year) that help the Seahawks win the division/get into the playoffs.

As a lifelong 49ers fan I miss the times when we beat St Louis 17 straight over 8 years in the division. I'd like to get back to that relationship with our division foes. :p

Bring back the dynasty. Go Kaep go!

I still think of the Seahawks as part of the AFC West.

Hehe, me too.

I think this is a mistake, unless it's just for the one week. It may not turn out to be a huge one, but I always favor developing young QBs over playing them right away, if the team has the luxury to do so.

Eh he's been developing for a full year. And he's played multiple snaps in almost every game this season. Time to unleash!

JJ Watt just got triple teamed.

I wondered why he didn't single handedly stop Detroit

Texans are being somewhat outplayed right now.

And Suh brought the same Thanksgiving spirit he brought last year. Dirty, dirty.
