Steam Winter Sale 2012 - Seriously Guys, It Was Over Two Months Ago! Move Along!

PM me for a free copy of Zeno Clash! Worth playing for the art and insanity alone!

I can second this. That game is insane. If you don't have this, get it now!

Home, which they talked about on the CC for Halloween, is $1. (OK, $1.01)

I just gifted it to the 3 people on my friends list that had it on their wishlist.

I was going to wait until the winter sale to start gifting, but it's only a dollar, so why not, right?

Get out of my head! I did the exact same thing with the exact same logic.

Hmm, looks interesting. The little icon looks really cool.

Thanks to Iridium for KOTOR2. It'll be nice to play it with the fans patch.

AoE 3 on Steam for $10 is teeeeeeempting... I wish the other Age games were also available!

Holy crap, Witcher 2 for $12

It was that price in the summer, at GoG.

But yeah, a new low for Steam I think.

Picked up Cargo Commander, Darksiders 2, Home and 30 Flights of Loving today. 20 odd bucks. Grow my pile! GROW! MWUAHAHAHAHA!

Also Bastion for $7.50. I think everyone here who would enjoy it got it during the summer sale, but if you missed it, this is a good time.

Nice find. And it's the "complete collection" including both expansions, each of which added 3 playable civilizations according to the wikipedia page. Tempting indeed. Willpower, don't fail me now.

Witcher 2 was one of the games I paid full price for and felt like it was a bargain. That is a steal.

Oh man... you're not making this easy.

Indeed you did. I just found out that one of the people I gifted it to (cyrax) had already received it from you. Competitive Steam gifting it seems.

I resent the gift to a random person on my friends list, hopefully who hasn't also already had it gifted to him by you.

Holy crap! Just looked at my wishlist and discovered that almost every single game there is on sale right now... It's going to be very hard to avoid buying stuff.

Hmmmm, I've been wanting XCom to go on sale... I'm torn between grabbing it now, or holding out a little while longer for a deeper discount (maybe the Winter/Xmas sale).

*edit: Nevermind... my wishlist.... so full of sales.... my wallet.... my willpower.... resistance... failing...

I'm in the same boat and will probably wait until Christmas since I'm trying to clear some other stuff off the pile.

I will say I may pick up Borderlands 2 for the multiplayer aspect.

The expansions are totally worth it. I had physical copies of them all but donated them to Goodwill. I've been waiting for this day... 39 hours to think about it.

Yeah, both the games on my wishlist are on sale (is any game on Steam not on sale right now?), but "only" 40% and 50% off. I'll wait and see if they end up as a flash deal before the 27th.

I have nine games sitting in my wishlist. Those are just games that seem interesting to me but for one reason or another haven't warranted a purchase up to this point. I just checked my wishlist, and seven of those nine games are now 33% off or more. Screw you, Valve. Screw you.

EDIT: I already got Darksiders 2 for $20. And then I thought, "why play Darksiders 2 before ever playing Darksiders? That makes no sense." So I got Darksiders for $5, which is just insane, guys. Also Dead Island GOTY Edition is $10, making it shinier than it has any reason to be. Skyrim: Dawn Guard is $13, and I remember some reviewers saying this DLC would be worthwhile at a cheaper price. Well, $13 is exactly $7 cheaper than $20, if I did my math right.

I'm looking at my wishlist and trying to decide which games to not buy.

Testament of Sherlock Holmes for $27
Alpha Protocol for $10
Amnesia: Dark Descent for $10
Deponia for $10
Book of Unwritten Tales for $13
The Whispered World for $10
Blackwell Trilogy for $10

$6.79 on Amazon right now. Activates on Steam

Agreed. Such a weird, great game. Not too long as I recall.

Velvet Assassin is $1.24.

I'm buying to see how the game failed. I was really interested in this title when it came out originally.

why don't we all do this together? I actually have all my disks here, but the thought of installing and patching has caused my morale to plummet. And hey, ready opponents!

General Crespin wrote:

You and me both. I'm so in love with AoM that I'm playing it with a fan patch on the Voobly servers. They host AoK as well.

Mateo, your generosity is only matched by your furious fists! Thank you so much for the Alan Wake franchise gift.

*doffs hat*

But is it any good?

Thanks for Home, tan!

Easier than screwing with a wishlist: if I don't have it, I want it.

Darksiders for $5, someone said? It's not $4, but it's tempting.

Ok, since this thread is as good as any, I'm giving away:
Civ V
Natural Selection 2
Breath of Death VII
Cthulhu Saves the World
Cogs
Defense Grid

PM me with the one you want.

Why, I heard some goodjers say it's one of the best games of this console generation.

It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but it hit just the right notes for me. It's one of only 3 games I've ever played through to completion more than once. The other two were Planescape: Torment and Baldur's Gate 2. Like those, TW2 offers a significantly different experience depending on your choices at a few key points in the story.
