Steam Winter Sale 2012 - Seriously Guys, It Was Over Two Months Ago! Move Along!

I still have some pile to work through, and 2012 has been my first positive progress year since I looking at the video game deals thread. Plus I don't have the cash to jump in on the sale and the remaining funds in my steam wallet is $0.86, down from the $18 I had from last year's holiday sale.

I'll still be watching and might jump in on some of the metagame stuff if it shows up.

crap.

It's also that, too :P

I liked it as a single player game with the optional game of hut ball with my offline character. >_>

Listen, let's be honest. It's probably for the best. We're the unlucky ones. You've escaped, whether by your own doing or someone else's, you're free.

What did The Walking Dead drop to in the summer sale?

$14.99 I think.

Amazon also matched that price -- I wound up getting it from there because the Steam price had already expired. (I'm also finally playing through it right now -- not unlike repeatedly being punched in the gut. It's an amazing game.)

You can always install the Steam app.
That way you get to spend money no matter where (or how drunk) you are.

I've made some progress on my backlog this year, but I still think I'll look at the sale in the same way that I did during the summer - if something comes up cheap that I'm interested in as a collector (in the summer it was Civ III, which I had long ago lost my disc for), I'll grab it. Otherwise, I've got plenty to play. The only exception at this point is X-Com (original). I've never played it and after loving the new version, I'm interested in checking out the original. I assume it'll be cheap, so I'll grab it this morning.

Mostly hoping for a couple things on my wishlist. OMD2, FLT, Mark of the Ninja.

Maybe Sins:Rebellion if it's cheap enough.

The sale hasn't even started yet, and my game backlog/Steam account has grown by 4 major games. A friend gave me a stack of (free to him) codes for my birthday, and I picked up the Civ5 expansion on Amazon to activate. I'm dreading what 10:00 has in store, since I don't have the willpower to turn down some games when they hit the right price point.

Jealous! Grumpy, where's my gig?

Every time I wait for the steam sale to start I start mentally humming The Hives - Tick Tick Boom while sadly thinking about my soon to be destroyed budget.

I'm most excited for a Dishonored sale. I also hope to see a good price drop for Civ5:Gods and Kings. Otherwise; I feel confident (hahahaha) that I won't need to buy anything else. I will just have to be wary of the impulse buy of items under $5.

Joining this fabulous thread in the anticipation of customary automobile intercourse with those of draken ethnicity.

Picking up Torchlight 2 if the price is just right. Mark of the Ninja and Shank 2 too.

I sound like a train...

Dude, Gods and Kings is up for 7.50 on Amazon, that ain't half bad. As a matter of fact it ain't 75% bad.

I have just looked at this but it is only showing up as a MAC purchase for me when I am looking at it. Can anyone confirm this is still active for PC Download?

I can 100% guarantee that it works just fine. When you buy it, just get the code from Amazon, don't download it. Go to your Steam client and Activate it through there and it works just fine. I played it last night after following this exact procedure.

GMG seems to be my go to place latetly for great deals. I haven't bought something from STEAM in a LONG time.

Games are up, but discounts aren't yet. Lots of good stuff on sale today.

And the sale is live!

$2.50 for KOTOR II is exactly what I was talking about when I mentioned that I'm only looking for collecting things at this point, rather than adding to the pile.

The discounts do show if you click through to the individual game page.

So, on a scale of 1 to 10 can anybody say how broken KOTOR 2 is? I hear it is pretty bad, but I am a bit interested in playing it. I recently replayed KOTOR and have never played 2 at all.

For all those picking up KOTOR2, remember to pick up the Restored Content Mod

Terraria is probably my favorite game lately, and was one of the games I was gifted during the summer sale.

I want to share the love so if it hits $2, I'm going to buy up a bunch of copies to gift, so if you still haven't tried it and are interested in it, put it on your wishlist and friend me.

Man, last night I dreamt I accidentally got a load of different pharmaceutical pills in my mouth.... This can only mean one thing.... I'm dreaming that I'm dead!

Most definitely given that I can hear your laboured breath!

I'd recommend picking it up; it's not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. The main problem is that it just kind of... ends. There's a lot of character stuff set up that never really gets resolved.

The restored content mod puts some of that back in but there are some blanks there even with it.

So far, just KOTOR2 for me.
