Interesting Kickstarter Catch-All

Anyone remember Chaosium's old Runequest/Dragon Pass games and their campaign world of Glorantha?

The Guide to Glorantha

300 color pages, plus a B&W, and a couple posters, of Larry Elmore art. 80's TSR fans, rejoice!

Cool. He's at $100,000 already. Bet he wishes KS had been a thing 20 years ago.

Larry Elmore is now on my list as a very cool dude. Not only did he add a stretch goal for their to be a biker rally, but he's going to be putting some of his paintings up for sale as pledge rewards. These are paintings that haven't left his house and he's letting people who have already pledged to get first dibs if you contact him.

All in all he seems like a very cool dude.

Yeah! All that, plus bewbs and chainmail bikinis!

I do love his dragon designs, though. And I will forever think of clerics as this and this. This is one of my favorite's of his.

I think I seriously need a signed, leather-bound Larry Elmore art book.

I decorated the entire gaming library at Ravenwood with Elmore prints. And I just got another for my home office. I definitely need a leather bound Elmore art book!

A friend just pointed this out to me:

To Be Or Not To Be: That Is The Adventure. Yes, it's Hamlet in choose-your-own-adventure format.

I wish I lived closer to Ravenwood... I need to find GWJ'ers down here in AL and build our own. Think I can kickstart that? GWJ'er castle near space camp... lol

Yo. Let's do it.

Molyneux kickstarting yet another Populous spiritual successor: Godus

I haven't looked at the project page but I suspect this is based on the prototype 256 player version he was showing at GDC back in 2011.

I love Elmore's old stuff. Over the years he lost something, like when he redid the Dragonlance cover art. Just wasn't as good.

True. I got into Dragonlance solely on the basis of the cover to the second book. I love the stance he has Laurana in.

Was expecting something a bit different...

I checked two pages back (disclaimer for possible skimming in action)
Make LA Game Space possible and get 30 games for $15!

For fans of Consolevania, Ryan Macleod has a kickstarter for his new show ChuckieDregs. Basically he's looking for a new computer in order have something that will actually process the videos not eat them.

I like his 300 pound pledge level.

Pledge £300 or more
THREE HUNDRED pounds buys a 10/10 review score for any game of your choice. Irregardless of how atrocious it is we will justify a 10/10 ***** review score. The amazing words we say about your 10/10 game will be delivered with a tone so close to sincerity that no-one will suspect a thing!

Irregardless?!

On an unrelated note, what is the the difference between the words "Regardless" and "Irregardless" anyway?

One is a real word, the other is used by people who either don't understand its not a real word or just want to troll people who do know its not a real word.

The OED lists it as "non-standard or humorous use", which means pretty much exactly what you just said. It doesn't bother me that much, unlike flammable/inflammable, which is a confusion that can get you killed.

Flammable and inflammable mean the same thing, but perhaps that's what you were alluding to.

Sportsfriends is really not doing as well as of now. They're just past one third of what they need with only fifteen days to go.

I've seen projects in that kind of bad shape who made their goal but they're going to need some press/word of mouth

Yeah, they'll be fine.

15$ is good but 15 Pound is excessive . 15 pound is almost 24$ for and in my opinion it's excessive for kickstarter game . Most British projects seem to have pretty steep entry fees. I'll just wait for them to bake it and get it on some steam sale or at full price if it's good. Kickstarter is somewhat ungratifying because deliveries can take 6 month +. I'd rather not give my money to make a remake of a game I haven't played and their video is fairly poor.

I'm not a big fan of Peter Molyneux's games anyways.

One is a word, one isn't?

This playing card one is an example of one concern I have about kickstarter.
This is just a sales page. What is to stop the graphic designer from having a bunch of cards done at artscow, and just reshipping them? Or placing a bunch of orders directly with direct shipping addresses?

What about this is kickstarter worthy?

Yeah, I kinda agree. Unless the cards have something about them that can't be done on artscow, I don't know that this is kickstarter worthy either. But it's a free market, so if enough people agree with you and I, this wont get the funding it needs and will fail.

Artscow looks to be more for one-off or small runs. I'm assuming they're trying to get enough for a bulk job somewhere like this or this.

But yeah, there are a lot of playing card decks on KickStarter. Don't really get it.

My friends finished filming their new movie and they're doing a kickstarter to help with finishing up post production and to help with getting it out to festivals and travel expenses.
