Steam Winter Sale 2012 - Seriously Guys, It Was Over Two Months Ago! Move Along!

I'm absolutely buried under my pile at the moment to the point where I feel I can hardliy breathe. As I can't take part in Secret Stanta this year I'll be emptying my sack down the chimneys of some deserving goodjers but I'm going to hold the line in terms of buying things for myself.

I checked my wishlist and nothing stands out.

Things I'm likely to buy:
Half Minute Hero
Two Worlds 2 Castle Defense

If the price is right:
Torchlight 2

I got plenty of game anyways and almost no time to play them.

This is gonna be great. Another Steam sale, another series of cold realizations that everything that's 80% off I've already bought full-price three years ago and still haven't played. :(

FTFY (or is that just me)?

It's all of us really. :(

ONE OF US! ONE OF US!

Quoting for out of context fun!

Oh gosh, not more Steam Sales!!! Ah, who am I kidding, I know I'll cave and buy stuff, never mind that my pile keeps growing, and that I finish games once in a blue moon.

I'm going to try (try, mind you) to stick to games on my wish list: The Walking Dead, Dishonored, XCOM, Marl of the Ninja, ...
We'll see. I'm notoriously weak willed when Steam Sales roll around (seriously, my husband should confiscate my PayPal and credit card).

Yeah, me too... That's the sad part. XD

I think Dark Souls is the biggest potential on my radar. $15 or under, though; we'll see if that happens.

I'm in! I haven't gotten anything for a while and am looking forward to some game time in the off season.

What did The Walking Dead drop to in the summer sale?

$14.99 I think.

Yes it did. I picked it up for that during the sale.

I would love some Skyrum right now.

They must be expanding from vodka.

Woah! I almost missed this thread. I almost missed the sale. How can that be? Well, phew, glad I caught this in time

I enjoy the sale, not for the games ( though increasing my pile is a badge of honor ), but for the way we all come together. The question is, what will this years sparkly pony be?

ProTip for husband:

IT'S A TRAP!

I... I don't have time to photoshop this!

I dont need my pile to be bigger for stuff I pay for. Its already too big with free to play stuff. especially with SWTOR going free soonish.

These Steam sale threads are what first introduced me to the GWJ community, so I consider it an honor to take part. That they serve as highly effective enablement groups for people with virtually no willpower when it comes to game discounts is just a bonus.

It is already free

SWTOR already went free. I reinstalled it yesterday, though I haven't yet played it enough to be able to compare the experience with what it was like when I was a subscriber.

as a person coming in new on the F2P stuff, there are a lot of issues. The SWTOR thread has a bunch of talk about it.

Hehe, yeah, that probably translates to "please buy me shiny new games, hubby".
Back on topic... do we know at what time the sale starts? I think I saw 6pm EST somewhere, but I'm not sure (not that it really matters, I'll probably just have to check back tomorrow morning).

Also, I found this on Gamedot.co.uk, I thought it was appropriate:

Edit: Ninja'd! 1pm EST you say? That's still 2 hours away...

I'll be out when the sale hits. Curse my prior obligations!
