2012: Unofficial GWJ Secret Santa 6.0 feat. Trichy Claus

Sorted out a few stragglers, so the merriment continues! Really enjoying seeing the first few pics come in. The only downside with being the Grand Poo-Bah of Goodjer Claus is not getting to participate.

That hardly seems fair. Isn't there some way to randomize it somewhat, to select your person for you. Even if you know who has you- still seems like you could be a participant.

It's not a problem. Besides, I finally got it all organized. I'd have to kick my own ass if I messed it up.

Edit: Boogle, you are forty four kinds of awesome. Thank you!

Just to be clear, I have volume 1 but not volume 2:)

Well, I have an Amazon wishlist, but it's pretty random. There are a couple things that my wife put on there and not a lot of gaming stuff at the moment. Maybe it'll help somebody, though.
Amazon

Edit: I just discovered that you can make separate wishlists, so I made a GWJ list and linked that instead. I may add some other stuff tomorrow too.

I changed my amazon link to a GWJ specific one, hopefully that helps.

Just in case someone is lamenting my hardly here ass, I updated my steam wishlist and any game in general on steam/gog isn't a bad way to go but having a 4 and 6 year old may not mean I get to play it soon as the pile is HUGE (unless it is awesome).

I also read a bunch, I've done a lot of non fic this year. Examples of stuff I have read:
Revelation Space universe (the first one was given to another person here one of the first years of SS so that's how I got into that)
Dune series
ASOIF
Hobbit/LoTR
Xanth

Things I've not read:
Wheel of Time
D&D stuff
Twilight (and I'm not looking to either)

Currently reading: The Baseball Code: Beanballs, sign stealing & bench-clearing brawls, the unwritten rules of America's pastime.
The following is on my nightstand in my reading queue:
How to talk so kids will listen and listen so kids will talk
Between parent and child
Keynes and Hayek
The lucifer principle
Cyber War
15 biggest lies about the economy
Gone girl
Confront and conceal
Year zero
The god problem
Collect Grimm stories
Sherlock Holmes collection

the last two were Costco impulse buys last week.

I don't think I've really said much on this forum about stuff I want, so here's some ideas for my Secret Stan (even though I originally told Trichy "no preference").

If you're looking to surprise, you can check my Backloggery, Steam, and BGG profiles to see what games I'm into. Other interests are cooking, space, and general nerdy things. I also do a small amount of recreational reading, mostly sci-fi lately.

FYI, that link just takes me to my own wish list, formatted text only as if for a cell phone circa 2004.

Well, here's an amazon list of things I'm going to buy myself eventually. I didn't get around to adding any Secret Santa specific things to it this weekend. I was pretty busy.

It's a good idea not to gift any of those games, since 1.there'll all pretty new and still pricy and 2. I can't stop myself from buying me things before Christmas. Also, the flame resistant clothing is there for work, so nevermind that. The list is pretty much just to give my SS an idea of what I like.

bad link

Awesome. Probably because I used my cell phone, since I never went home this weekend.

There. fixed.

I have all the components for my victim. Just gotta wrap 'em up and ship 'em out on Saturday.

Don't worry, we'll take good care of you in the Steam Sale.

My Secret Stan target has a rapidly shrinking....steam wishlist.

Get yer mind our of the gutter!

Trichy's Steam Wishlist is over thisa way: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/7...

Not a lot on there. But then again, he has 180+ games in his account, so there isn't much he doesn't have!

Appreciated but unnecessary. Besides, Boogle already hooked me up!

Thank you kindly, good sir! It's always nice to see something so big shrink down to something of a more manageable size.

What? My mind is always in the gutter. But it's looking up at the stars!

No surrender!
No man left behind!

Me too!

I realized too late that one of the items I got is probably already in the assorted collection of my target. I'll just sign it and make it more special...or i'll leave it pristine and they can have a second copy of said thing.

hmm

I have ordered items for my victim. It is coming to me and then I will send it on its way. Hopefully they like it.

Unfortunately, my seekret stan lives in a country with ambiguous import restrictions on things like the paleocon krissmas kukri. So I will have to send him/her something or things incrementally less awesome

Dude, I am on the Missouri side of Kansas City - you can still send me one.

I'll take one as well.

Do you have Katanas? I do like to keep the heritage thing up.

I can't recommend the Paleocon krissmas kukri enough for activities like clearing brush and scaring off miscreants.

I joined late to this plan because I am a complete loser.

So, with that being said, my victim is going to be getting things mid-December.

For the person that has my name, just an FYI that I will be opening the package(s) on Christmas Day and Rubb Ed will be doing the same since he will be spending the holidays with my family.

Oh, man. Just in case this is me, I've got family in the States, so could collect it there...!

If this isn't me, I'm sad/jealous.

I'm considering doing the same thing, but I figured I'd see if anyone else thought that was a good idea. I'm probably going to end up wanting to wait until Christmas simply because I know I won't have that much under the tree compared to the rest of my family. Though the biggest reason for that is I have a tendency to buy people a minimum of like four or five gifts (Hell, my sister will be getting six I think).

I've gotten the physical goods I'll be sending and the steam sale got me items on their wish list so I'm set to send my stuff off on the 1st. I'll then time the Steam gifting appropriately.

I've got most of the stuff. Just waiting for one last package to arrive, then organizing, packing & shipping will commence.
