Doctor Who *Spoilers Abound! We've lost Containment*

I had a similar problem with The Power of Three, when they go out of their way to say the cubes are giving people massive cardiac arrest, and people fall down struck on the ground. Then we spend fifteen minutes or so figuring out what's going on, while these people are undergoing a massive cardiac event, until the Doctor waves the magic wand around and fixes it. And then everyone recovers from their heart attacks and concomitant lack of oxygen to the brain and goes their merry way.

Yeah, that bothered me as well. I remember my buddy who was watching that episode with me ask "shouldn't they all be brain dead?"

That episode, especially, felt really rushed. I was honestly expecting it to be a two parter up until the last few minutes.

Is anyone else disappointed that hurricane Sandy is being called Frankenstorm and not Stormaggedon, Dark Lord of All.

Interesting opinion peasant.

Steam now has the BBC game Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock for sale (and on sale). Looks like a fun distraction until the Christmas episode.

Looks fun I might bite on it. The game not your penis.

First teaser photo of the Doctor from the upcoming Christmas Episode this year is out on Facebook.

Different clothing style, different expression and the TARDIS looks a little weathered in the background.

Oohhhhh, I love it!

First trailer of the upcoming Christmas episode

Loved seeing for the first time the interaction between Matt Smith and JLC. Very very cute. Also they are totally hamming it up about

Spoiler:

the new companion played by JLC having links to the other character that JLC played at the start of series 7.

*SQUEE*

And a mini-sode of a prequel to the Christmas special.

More cute Matt Smith and JLC interaction. Just love the shout out to Karen Gillian herself and not Amy Pond the character. Since one actually is in LA and not Manhattan New York.

That made my night. Time for bed, now, with wonderful thoughts of Christmastime and the adventures of the Doctor filling me up with child-like glee. Thank you.

Now, the Great Detective....that is a series which MUST be made

Wait, isn't that Batman?

Batman ?

Batman is "The World's Greatest Detective", sillies.

Also, I dunno if y'all are reading the Doctor Who/Star Trek Next Generation crossover comic series, but it is faaantastic.

World's greatest detective my arse - everyone knows Sherlock Holmes is the WGD. And he doesn't have to dress up like a gimp to do his work

I did love that Sontaran minion, but dont believe he'd actually be seen as that outlandish in many parts of London.

Whoa whoa whoa, Sherlock Holmes is, you know, GOOD and all, but compared to Batman? Female Doggo please...

Do you have a link (or a title) for that crossover comic?

It's an actual physical comic book series written by IDW Publishing, called Assimilation2. There are to be eight issues, but not all of them are out yet. It involves the Eleventh Doctor, Amy, and Rory showing up on the Enterprise-D and finding out about an alliance between the Borg and the Cybermen. The Memory Alpha link is here, and for now is surprisingly spoiler-free (most of the other wiki entries on it elsewhere have full plot summaries up to this point).

Keep in mind that in their own respective timelines this will be both Pre-Angels in Manhattan and Pre-Generations (and by extension Pre-First Contact), although with the Doctor involved there's always the chance of timey-wimeyness.

Seems a shame to not call it "Assimelete."

You can also get it on Comixology, which is where I've been reading it:

Well, Sherlock Holmes is driven by intellectual desire. Batman is driven by 'MY PARENTS ARE DEAAAAAAD!"

That book is definitely my Guilty Pleasure Of The Year award winner. I read 6 and 7 yesterday.

Matt Smith and Steven Moffat talk about the Christmas special.

Starring Matt Smith as the Doctor and introducing Jenna-Louise Coleman as Clara, his new companion, this year’s Christmas Special is called The Snowmen and follows their adventures as they battle the villainous Doctor Simeon (Richard E Grant) and his army of sinister snowmen.

Not necessarily re: Doctor Who, but Neil Gaiman tweets:

On the good side I was just sent a cast list with James McAvoy, Ben. Cumberbatch, Christopher Lee, Anthony Head and Bernard Cribbins on it.

Anthony Head - wonder if that's a return for the Krillitanes ?
