I thought that there was already a GWJ clan in elite, but I couldn't find it. So, I created one. Feel free to join the GWJ clan.

There is one, I don't remember who was in charge.

Do you remember the name of the clan?

I was in it I think on MW3, however briefly I may have played that game. I can find out.

*Checked, it's just straight up called "Gamers with Jobs"

Thanks ThinJ. I wasn't home and couldn't check.

Cool. I've disbanded GWJ and applied to Gamers with Jobs.

I was convinced to buy this and I'm having a blast so far. I think it's a big improvement from Modern Warfare 3.

Unfortunately right now the Steam servers seem to be down and I can't play Multiplayer or Zombies

If you're playing PC make sure to add me if you haven't already, Steam profile link is in my signature!
(Which is probably down at this precise moment.)

Go ahead and add me, if you havent already - I have been playing bunches of the game and I am at CAPT rank. I just need to stick to one weapon to get their full goodness. Some good maps, but I think the Carrier and the Yacht are my favorites. Still a lot of run and gun being dominated by SMG and Shottie players, but better than previous iterations.

The PS3 version is seeing some serious issues.
The other night I had two freezes of the console (real hard lockups, no XMB, nothing, just dead) in like 15 minutes.
One midgame, one in a lobby. Usually the console is rock solid, and this type of lockup is really rare in my experience.
But it seems like I am not the only one.
Really makes me question the QA @ TreyArch.

I don't like wide open, or big lane, maps, which is why Carrier is one of my least favorite. Sure there's narrow sides, but they're very limited. I do love Yacht, though. They managed to make a map more enclosed than Nuketown, but way more fun. I actually feel that most of the maps are great to excellent, but I can't say until I've spent more time with the game.

And I wish you guys on PC didn't like Domination so much, too much grenade spam and scattered/grouped-up pubs for my tastes.

If it makes you feel any better my 360 locked up last night playing the game. Just froze at the beginning of a match, had to reset the machine.

Any idea how we get clan xp?

One thing that really, really irks me to no end, and which they STILL haven't fixed in yet another entry to this franchise, is the "go offline and match dies with no record" exploit.

Had it happen in a league game last night, where the match tipped over against the enemy team, and of course I was actually doing really well for once, and then BOOM connection lost to host and dumped to an empty lobby.

Dammit that pisses me off; they should, by now, be able to fix it so that if the host drops offline one of the peers takes over.

I've taken to where it pisses me off enough that I actually file a complaint against the guilty player when this happens, and also mark them as players to avoid. It's easy to tell who is the guilty one when this happens: pull up your recent players list and one of the ones from the last couple minutes will be offline, while the rest are still online.

Seriously pisses me off that people are such lameasses. You know what, you're having a bad match? Deal with it, it happens to us all.

I have no idea how someone could have a bad match when they're hosting.

I will be online tonight on 360, looking to host and shotgun helpless fools in the cranium.

I agree, but I blame the developers on a technical and game design failings; they should be managing player behaviour better.

Lag compensation. The host is given artificial lag to make up for his "host advantage". Call of Duty's netcode tends to over do this most times and it actually becomes a major disadvantage to be host.

I knew that CoD overused it but I didn't realize it hit the host particularly badly. I made the post because I had a few games the other night in which every lag break fell my way; I was just using the 870 shotgun and blasting everyone in front of me. I assumed it was because I was hosting, but maybe that was a mistake on my part.

You are just that awesome.

I will be on tonight.

actually it's better than what it was and it attempts to connect to another person but it doesnt always work especially if a whole group bails...

Do we have a Clan on the PC side?

The most I've done is put a tag by my name.

SpyNavy wrote:

I think right now putting a tag in is all we have available.

The clan tool through elite is only available on the 360 at the moment. I could've sworn they said they were going to open it up for the pc with BO2, but it seems i was wrong.

Can someone in the 360 clan approve my application?

Oh yeah...double XP this weekend if you pre-ordered and have the Nuketown map downloaded.

Will do sometime here soonish.

I looked last night but couldn't figure out a way to do that.

Yeah I'm looking at Elite on the website now and I'm not seeing it on there either

*And I don't see it in the 360 Elite app either. What the heck. Does it have to be the person who started the clan? And if it does, who was that even for this one?

Hell, I remember what a nightmare it was even trying to figure out how to apply for the clan back last year. Elite's interface has always been amazingly unintuitive to me.

PWAlessi wrote:

For the sake of clarity, Nuketown's not really a preorder bonus. If you bought the game new it comes in the box regardless. It might not be in later prints, I guess.

So... how is the League play mode? Does it work as advertised? How long of a time commitment for a single play session, or is it a persistent mode that you can jump in and out of over time?

Played this for 3.5 hours today until the wee hours. I was thinking about joining Jekl to play more, but I realised I've got to stop at some point. I'll turn around and it'll be 7am or something. But I'm still tempted.

What's more, I'm not sure how much I'm playing to unlock things. I like to, to try stuff out, but I'm not getting the same excitement as I did when I leveled up in COD4 or MW2. I think a tiny part of that is that the audio and visual feedback when you unlock something isn't as pronounced. Also, it's because unlocking now leads to decisions - what to spend unlock points on, how to organise one's build - rather than simply new things to play with.

I love it, except the ranking system doesn't seem to do well for solo players. It puts you into a ladder after 5 placement matches, but after that, your score on the ladder is based on team results, not your personal results. So, if you go 25-2 in a game of team deathmatch and your team loses, you get 0 ladder points.

That being said, I still think that it's fun to play solo because they unlock all of the weapons, attachments, perks, grenades, etc. so that everyone can compete on a level playing field. Also, the other players in your ladder are around your skill level, so you don't seem to get dropped into games where you are just totally overmatched.

I could see it being a great deal of fun if you got a team of 4 or 6 guys together.

The games are normal length, and you can just jump in and play ladder matches any time. It works very similarly to how laddering works in Starcraft.

Eh, whatever. As long as we get to play together and kill dudes, I don't care that much about the clan.

My friends won't play league games with me. They lost interest when I said it was solo XP and that it was about climbing the league. They're too afraid of losing.

What do the camo unlocks do?
