Fall over there is wonderful - colorful and a nice change from the heat/rain/humidity of summer. May, around Buddha's birthday, most of the temples to lantern festivals - can't find my pictures of that at the moment though.

I always liked the temples or sites that sell the little Buddha figures and people find various spots to group them all:

Top heavy things are the most fun things.

You play around in that thing? You're braver than you look.

C'mon, I can't be the only one who was raised in the lawn dart generation!

And who didn't have a swing set made out of the same pipe, and with two swings and a teeter totter. The swing chains made from that hardware store chain with that little twist around the middle of the link; it was one step off of barbed wire. The teeter totter with every hinge joint fully exposed.

Don't forget the legs that weren't set in concrete so that when two kids were swinging the same way you could sometimes cause the whole thing to tip over ;)

There were holes at the feet that were probably for spiking it to the ground. My folks probably decided that spikes were dangerous.

I had tonka trucks that were made of metal. Those were the days. That bulldozer had a giant axe blade on the front.

Today's SMBC is awesome!

Wow, blocking not just 1 handicapped spot, but 2. I hope he gets double the fine.

Ahh, I didn't see the larger image version, so I couldn't see it.

To be fair, he does have a handicap hang tag. Although usually when I see those it's someone who got one from their doctor for a sprained ankle or something which they've since recovered from. Either way, splitting the spots is a douche-maneuver.

He/she deserves to have a dozen of these super-glued to the windshield.

Your punishment is to confuse them?

"Why is there a ferret silhouette when the text talks about monkeys?"

Why does a sticker about a rabid monkey have a picture of something from the weasel family?

Just keep notices from You Park Like An Asshole in your car for situations like this.

No clue about the the ferret replacing the monkey. This was something I came across on the 'net a few years ago. I should probably shoop it one of these days, to make it more accurate, but the confusion factor does add a little character.

You also missed the part where he/she also blocked access to the wheel chair ramp. There may be another one nearby but if it is like most places around here that is the only one.

I might have to make these socks someday, though they are completely impractical.

Don't know if these have been posted;

I don't grok the right sock.

I actually just saw this for the first time, and the slow approach and steady camera angle that showed it in its entirety as Omar approach actually filled me with fear the closer he got. f*cking amazing movie.

Full disclosure, I haven't seen the movie. The still was used as an answer on Jeopardy the other day, saying the character Sherif Ali was played by an actor of the same name. I called out "Who is Omar!" and then immediately knew what I had to 'shoop.

I see it's on Netflix, so I should probably watch it this weekend.

No sock grocker, you. Bah! I deride your sock grocking abilities

Apparently there was a super-duper new Blu-Ray edition just released. *want*

I think they are referring to Omar Sherif who is a well-known Egyptian actor as well as Omar, a character from The Wire, an HBO show. Omar was a bad-ass criminal and when he walked down the street kids would yell out, Omar's comin'!

It's an AMAZING movie, and I too am coveting the Blu-ray REALLY badly, but be prepared to set aside about 4 hours to watch it all.

This whole conversation, and the name of the film has yet to be explictly stated. Someone should fix that so I could have some idea just what the hell you're all talking about.

Lawrence of Arabia, I'd guess.
