Which of these images should I use as my new avatar? I've decided to switch my avatar over to the great and almighty derp fox and I can't decide which one to use. (Thanks to strangeblades for giving me permission to use it, and for reminding me it existed in the first place)

My choices are: one from this T-shirt (the one strangeblades was using) http://www.topatoco.com/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=TO&Product_Code=OG-FOX&Category_Code=OG, or one of the panels from the following comics (WARNING this web comic is extremely NSFW) page 1:http://oglaf.com/goldensongbird/1/, and page2:http://oglaf.com/goldensongbird/2/.

Oh and if someone could tell me how to shorten links it would be much appreciated.

The second to last panel in this strip cracks me up every time I see it. http://oglaf.com/goldensongbird/2/

I vote t-shirt.

Me, too, and it reminded me of Snuggleboobs, which is why I suggested it for his avatar.

A really random question but anyone happen to know how to get replacement earbuds for Klipsch Image S2 headphone? I tried googling it and only ended up with a hideously expensive manufacturer site, which it is 1/3 as much as I paid for it!

Wondering if there was any unofficial off brands.

What's black friday?

Thanks for the pointing out the UPS vs USPS distinction Ian.

The Friday after American thanksgiving in which stores have (usually "big" ) discounts to get consumers to buy stuff. If you want to lose a bit of your faith in humanity check out some of the youtube videos and news articles from previous black Fridays.

The Friday before Black Easter, the anniversary of the day Black Jesus was crucified. It is now celebrated in America by sacrificing our national self-respect on the cross of consumerism.

Please imagine square brackets instead of parenthesis for the remainder of this post. It's much easier to type out since it will try to parse the brackets and make it a mess.

When the code creates a link, by default, it puts it in the format (url)link(/url), which will display the entire text of the link, and also have it as a clickable hyperlink. If you instead use the format (url=link)text(/url), it will instead display whatever "text" happens to be, but link to the specified url.

Example:
(url)http://www.google.com(/url) = http://www.google.com
(url=http://www.google.com)elgooG(/url) = elgooG

A shortcut for this is that if you have any text selected/highlighted when you click the "Link" button, it will automatically convert that text into a hyperlink to the specified url, as per the second example.

Another option is to use the Link button above the posting box. If you click it without highlighting anything, it'll ask you for the URL to link to (like Keldar's first example).

The super advanced thing to do is write out what you want as the text for the link, highlight it, THEN click the Link button above the editor. It'll again ask for the URL, but this time, it'll automatically wrap around what you highlighted.

Same works for all the other buttons, so you can write what you want and then add bold or italic after the fact, instead of clicking the buttons a bunch of times.

Boxing Day the day after American Thanksgiving, but with mobs instead of queues.

Edit: the "black" is because with all the shopping, traditionally it's the day of the year when many retailers turn profitable for the overall year, since a huge share of retail revenue is made in the last six weeks of the year. So it's the day the accounting books change from red to black.

In OSX is there a key-shortcut to cycle between pop-up options? Similar to how in Windows you can use Tab to cycle between options and hit Enter to select your choice.

Am I crazy... or were we once able to highlight a portion of text on the forum, click the 'quote' button and have ONLY that selected text pasted into the comment field wrapped in quote tags?

@PaladinTom, you can still highlight text and hit the 'Quote' button under Post new comment and it will place that text inbetween quote brackets, but it won't have the ='author' part of the first quote tag filled out for you.

You mean like when you are say selecting a state on a web form? If so it depends on the app. By default no but I think you can do it in Chrome and Firefox and some other apps.

Some forums do this, but I don't remember GWJ being one of them.

I mean in the OSX native menus. Like when I hit shut down and there's two options in the pop-up, to cancel or to shut down immediately.

Thanks Keldar! I'd been meaning to quote someone to see how they did it but I always forgot, and then by the time I remembered the post would always be buried.

Up and down arrows should work for all popups in Mac OS X.

It's perfect. Maybe just a little more zoomed to get rid of the two black bars on the side.

Thanks, I had tried left and right. That sort-of makes sense now.

So, acquired tastes. Essentially, this means that it tastes awful for a long time until it finally stops tasting awful. Why do people keep consuming things that taste awful?

Peer pressure, and the buzz/drunk you get, even if you don't like the flavor.

OK I cropped out the black bars on the sides (which warn't supposed to be there in the first place) and scaled down the image so its not quite as blurry.

And I think thats just about perfect. Now when ever Strangeblades posts right after me it looks like we've been hired to star in an incredibly ill-advised buddy cop show where we can never decide between good cop and bad cop and instead just go for crazy.

Excellent. I opt to be the nutty one and you can be the crazy one but as we are both insane I don't think witnesses will be able to discern the fine differences.

In Mac OS X dialogs you can often press the first letter of the button on the keyboard to press the button.
