Any photographers in the house?

Ya, problem was I didn't turn it (circular polarizer). I was not happy when i saw them full size. I might have had a few drinks, and it was 40 degrees out and had about 2 miles to get shots of 12 cars. All of these factors kind of screwed me over haha.

Tagging.

My lens is a Nikon f/1.4 50mm. I love it!

Great pic of the blue Audi!

I was out recently and managed to put a couple of shots together. These are a few of my favourites:

I've been working on learning more about black and white this month. Here's one I'm happy with:

Wait, the Curiosity Rover is a GWJer?

Wait, what's that shark doing?!

wait, thats not a shark it's Shai-Hulud

We have worm sign the likes of which even God has never seen.

We just need little fremen riding it.

I took a couple of photos this morning just before heading off to work (around 6:30am). Initially I had a nice landscape I was most happy with but I think that, overall, this lighthouse shot came out best with regards to lighting and composition:

Actually, yeah, I noticed that when I posted it here. I'm quite shocked really because it was blowing a gale!

Just some pictures from our teams training day.
Here a video of us running some CQB room clearing.

Any backpacking photographers here that take a full size DSLR with them?
If so can I get some advice on gear they use etc.

So, having handled most of the Panasonic m4/3 range today, I'm inches away from pulling the trigger on a new camera.

Trouble is, I can't decide whether its going to be a G5 or an OMD EM-5.

There's an OMD going slightly used on dpreview, which makes the price a bit more affordable, but I could still get a new G5 for about £300 less. I'd like a full alloy frame, though, as the G5 is dangerously plastic-y. GX1 is too small, though, and I just need something that is durable enough for regular use. I've gone back and forth today without coming to a conclusion.

Anyone use either/both? RR, I know you're a OMD fan, but do you have any experience with a G5?

I have not tried it, but I've heard a lot of good things. It sounds to be pretty comparable to the E5 in many ways. Panasonic has generally had the edge over Olympus in video (tho' the E5 is much improved over my old E-PL1), it honestly sounds like you couldn't go wrong with either.

I know that's not much help, but no matter which you choose, sounds like it's not a bad decision from everything I've read about the G5.

You're right. That's not much help...

I'm tempted to go G5, particularly if I plan on upgrading in four years or so.

I take my Canon 5D, a 28-135 zoom, a 70-300 zoom along with a mono-pod in a LowePro backpack. Still room for water and snacks.

Spare batteries and SD cards don't add much to the weight.

Im looking at backpacking for a week with very little access to water possibly. Weight will be a huge issue along with carrying capacity.

Here is what I came up with. (not me)
IMAGE(http://www.utahoutside.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/IMG_8845-640x427-300x200.jpg)
I have the front bag for camera going have a buddy sew on some buckles for my backpack.

Plan on taking my 60D, 18-135, and maybe my 70-200.
Still need figure out a tripod solution.

Re: tripod

What about something like this?

I actually have something very similar to that. I want to do some star photography and maybe some time lapse photos but that requires a tripod. Seems like all ultralight tripod that can handle a DLSR are 200+.

Any of you guys print photos that you've taken?

I'd like to get some printed out and I'm looking for recommendations for online printers. I won't be doing a lot of printing, just a few pictures here and there, and nothing huge, probably 11x14 at the largest right now.

Ived used Wolf a few times good quality, fast delivery, but abit pricey.
