Name a Band / Song We Should Know About

I would say this song has the ideal amount of cowbell (and jam block too, if you're really that into percussion).

That was amazing!

Thank you guys for posting Steam Powered Giraffe. I've just bought their two albums because of that video.

Agreed--I will also be purchasing their albums. The commitment to the unique theme they have going is amazing. Also, they actually sound pretty good, so that's another plus

Boy am I'm glad I posted another of their songs then. I kinda figured few gave a listen to the last one I posted and spreading of amazing music/artists is the purpose of this thread, right?

Today I learned that iTunes has a radio station in the ambient category with blends electronic ambient music with NASA mission control archive audio, and mission coverage.

Wierd. Going to listen.

Your description reminded me of Photek's UFO.

Aside from the major difference between Ambient and DnB, I actually am hearing some similarities.

He's back!

On a major The Professors kick right now—

Great tune: Destination: Moon

I like it. Musically reminds me of oldskool industrial.

I wish they had written more songs like this.

I blame Ken Levine for getting me addicted to them.

The first I heard of Steam Powered Giraffe was when they played Clockwork Con here in Austin. (I followed some friends there.)

It's not only better live, it's MUCH better live. Do go see them if you get the chance.

Been listening to these songs a lot lately:

I think Tame Impala's Lonerism is going to be my album of 2012. The singer/writer said "For me, it's a combination of nice sugary pop crossed with really f*cked-up, explosive, cosmic music. It's like Britney Spears singing with The Flaming Lips."

Anyway, Feels Like We Only Go Backwards is one highlight on the album and its video is pretty fantastic as well.

Saw these guys live tonight. Sooo good.

I admit to being a filthy skimmer, so this may have already been posted, but I think Passion Pit is pretty rad. Specifically, I dig this crazy love triangle video...

What kind of music is this? aside from movie and game soundtrack.

I bet this would really cool live, if it was set up right with some dancers.

The new Liars album, WIXIW, is frankly brilliant. Probably my favorite from them since They Were Wrong So We Drowned although the two sound nothing alike. WIXIW is very melodic and spacey; it reminds me of the more recent Radiohead albums.

Not sure if this one has been posted or not. The Forza: Horizon soundtrack is incredible and this is one of the standouts for me.

Reminds me of a 60's-vibe Broken Bells.

Recently found Tom Vek and somehow his Leisure Seizure album has stuck in my head.

Been playing with the Infinite Jukebox perhaps a little too much. (Hope these links work for you, no idea if they're randomized and wiped after first use) WARNING: You need Chrome, and can't minimize the window, kinda processor intensive, but you can open a separate window while this one plays.

Desmond Dekker - 007(Shantytown)

Nujabes + Fat Jon -Transcendence

Dels - Capsize ft. Roots Manuva

Indie supergroup MHz Legacy finally released an album. After about 12 years. And the death of one their members in 2008.

Some new Aussie Hip-hop that i've really been digging recently. Just really upbeat with good choruses.
