Wow, I'm totally welling up now. That was awesome

Ditto that was adorable, and why can't we fix blindness yet...

Brilliant (and, in hindsight, everything he says is kinda 100% right)

Well sh*t...he's right. Absolutely right. Huh, hadn't thought of it like that.

Awesome. Now one for TLC please, because I sure as sh*t wasn't pirating dinosaur miniseries on Napster.

I am, however, married with a kid and would go to a Soundgarden reunion tour show.

That's easy: privatize a channel that was once publicly funded and devoted to education = board of investors want the cheapest shows that will generate the most advertising income to maximize their profits.

And the History* channel was taken over by aliens. Discovery is still circling the drain, but at least hasn't completely gone down the drain yet.

*In an honest-to-god Freudian slip, I had typo'ed that as sh*tory channel.

So if everyone was a dirty pirate, how did artists manage to make enough money to make shows like the aforementioned Cribs in the first place? And didn't the rise of MTV came around the same time as LPs, so far one of the hardest mediums to pirate, were on the decline and almost replaced by cassette tapes which meant that only one person in your group had to buy an album and suddenly all your friends owned a slightly worse copy of it?
Sorry, I understand the reason why the focus of MTV shifted and that the new model is much more profitable, but then come out and say it honestly: "We wanted more money and extravagant music videos are more expensive to produce than following a group of morons around with a portable camera, editing it in with epilepsy inducing flash cuts and vomiting the whole mess on people's TVs". There is a great number of people who will watch that, but I honestly don't think they are the same people who are sad that MTV no longer shows music videos.

edit: Is History Channel even named that way anymore? I could swear I heard it called only History now.

double edit: Also, the girl in that video looks too young to me to remember what MTV was like in the first place.

Went and picked up some ukulele strings today, mentioned it to my coworker who introduced me to these little gems.

Best part is at about 1:23

Um... it's a joke? As in that entire YouTube channel is those two people making various joke sketches and that was one of them.

Not sure if this has been posted. Nothing else really to say about it. Enjoy (?).

Ah. Erm...
In that case I'm sorry for the rant. I guess I have a sore spot for "You made us do this!" justifications.

Is...is that serious?

"Let's engineer a new Rebecca Black and make millions." At least her voice is better.

50 Shades of... Chicken?

((and is that Patrick Stewart reading?))

That is awesome.

Oh Jesus, once you find one, you have to listen to more.

What madness have you brought before us?

My wife's response to this video:

"Oh my god, my life. Minus children. I wring my hands and cry."

Spoiler:

I (Strangeblades) laughed my ass off.

Can't wait for this movie to eventually come out. I hope it doesn't take too much longer. I <3 Wong Kar Wai.

Ranger Rick posted this to G+. I would not have you all miss out on it simply because you don't go for that kind of social media. Some language, some dubstep.

A new platform game coming in 2013, with elegant music, an adorable protagonist and if you like sliding around...

I can honestly tell you, I have never experimented with anything stronger than alcohol, except for the nitrous oxide I got during an emergency filling, and I was smiling my face off and sure that the ceiling tiles contained the mystical formula for life as we know it.
