Borderlands 2 Catch-All

Captain Scarlett spoiler:

Spoiler:

She just teleports away when you defeat her pet right? I hope she comes back in other DLC or perhaps a playable character? (I doubt it but it would be cool)

I've given up for a while. I'm really struggling on TVHM, at Level 42 with Zer0. I haven't found a decent gun or shield in hours, but am not far enough into story mode to farm anything decent. I co-oped with a buddy for a while, but he was only level 36, and got fed up of never killing anything!

I have a level 46 Zer0 on PC right now, and I think I may have something in that range in terms of weaponry. I believe I have a level 42 Trespasser. If you're on PC and have done Frostburn Canyons, friend me up and we'll farm you up some purples lickety split.

Try a different character.

I left my Zer0 at 33 or so, and made Gaige all the way to 50, and Maya all the way to 43. Zer0 is still at like 35.

There are just too many areas where he gets overwhelmed. Stealth isn't long enough or you can't get enough kills to stay stealthed or whatever. That part of the game (35-45) is tough for a lot of characters because of the way drops increase in stats so that something 3-4 levels behind is useless.

I only play Zer0 with friends. I can't solo him anymore.

I'm at level 20 with a Commando and it feels like I pushed the easy button. Deploy my turret, lob a slag grenade, stand in the background and pick off anyone that gets too close to me or the lil' lady. Lather, Rinse, Repeat. I also took for granted the awesome accuracy boosts from the Sniper branch. Most Weapons feel like slingshots now, so I've devolved to a 'spray as many bullets downrange as possible' play-style which, sadly, seems to be working out fine.

Edit: Oh, and I feel it might be necessary to roll back some of the harsh things I've said about E-Tech weapons. A golden key scored me a lightning flavored ricocheting Sniper variant that, while only having a three shot magazine, packs enough of a punch to redeem the concept in my opinion.

Oh yes, now I remember what the artifact is that I got. In downed state, it doubles the hp and increases the timer 20%.

Like I said in an earlier post my elemental tree Maya is a beast where she can pretty much instantly get second wind when downed. However, there are those few times where you die with nothing left to kill so that extra time helps save my butt nearly every time in those instances. It is still very tense in downed state for sure. But comparative to my healing Maya, the elemental Maya is god-like.

So if you are struggling with Maya, you cannot go wrong with the elemental tree: fiery explosion and ricochet on phaselock, acid pool on hit, extra elemental %chance, and faster reload with bonus clip size (also of minor note is the downed state shots burn and fiery explosion on shields depletion). It is possible to get fire from phaselock, acid pool beneath, and slag/exploding/electric on one enemy. And on some enemies you can get fire stacking or corrosion stacking which allows you to melt badass loaders.

I finally got a bouncing bullet AR at 50. It's pretty cool.

But every other E-Tech weapon I've seen has been useless. All the delayed damage dart things are worthless. The one that shoots lobbed projectiles 45 degrees elevated from where your aiming is useless.

Gasp! This key is still active!
edit at least the PC one just worked.
Edit2 thanks to everyone posting these! Facebook, twitter, and now youtube? I am seriously getting fatigued, but the keys are great for injecting some quality items into the occasional loot dry spell.

I have a tvhm zer0 at 47, but I'm pretty much always playing coop with a couple of friends at the same level so I've been having an okay time of it.

Using up some keys helped, but having someone there to pick you up when you go down/draw aggro goes a long way to making things easier.

I specced kunai with a minor in the the sniper tree (for the early +crit damage and velocity mainly) and have soloed a bit and run of the mill encounters are usually fine, but for an easier time you basically always want to be kiting (pop deception and run away) and hitting things at the limit of the bounding box where they won't chase you any further. This, unfortunately, is not really possible in those fights where you're stuck in a restricted arena.

Found this one from a Google search on GameFAQs -- still actiive as of five minutes ago, and originally from YouTube, so there may be other platforms out there.

TANNHAUSER'D.

That's what I get for posting from the Kindle. Still active, though, on 360, as was Rallick's.

Here's what I've found out about Moxxi's SMGs, and I've pushed enough cash into the tip jar to fill Fort Knox.

The SMG is tied to the level of the storyline. So, if you are 25, and the storyline mission is 20, you get a level 20 SMG. Both SMGs are awesome, hell, all the Moxxi weapons I've gotten are. Haven't gotten the launcher, but the grenades and the shotgun rock. The SMGs have a hidden healing factor, a trickle of health based on the damage being done by the elemental damage ticks. So, nothing to get excited about, unless you are going to set several things on fire/acid and let them burn.

The amount of money varies, and seems to go up with your level. Drop money in the jar, and if she says something, stop and wait for the dialogue to stop. She's never interrupted what she is saying to hand out the gun. When she is ready to hand over a gun, she says the line for that smg, then pulls it of her cleavage (that's Gearbox for ya) to hold it out. You snag it manually, it won't just appear in your inventory. No clue how long she will stand there holding it out.

I've gotten multiple smgs on the same character, so if you have outleveled the gun, you can go get another one. Which is great, because SMGs and assault rifles were the two types of guns I couldn't reliably find replacements for, and the siren gets some nice +SMG damage mods.

On occasion, she has not given out a gun no matter how much I dropped in the tip jar. A few times, she's said the line and made the motion as if she's handing over a gun, but no gun appeared. Once I was able to target her and click E, and the gun appeared, but only once, the other times no gun was to be had.

The SMGs are damn solid weapons. Good clip size, decent reload, solid damage, okay sight, workable recoil, the usual Maliwan 'war hippy' weapon. So, on very rare occasions I've found better weapons of the same level, but mostly not. Good weapons, well worth the trouble. Save em to pass them down to your alts.

No point in saving 'em, if it's too much trouble. They're always available. Some people have noted having to drop 50 or 80k sometimes to get something, so I just flood money into the jar these days when I want one. It's fairly reliable. Might need to restart the game if it's not coming.

What I do is to pass on trash vendor greens to my alts. The level disparity ensures that my lower level alts are always swimming in money.

EDIT: Thanks Cymbrogi for the Youtube ones!

This game has definitely got its grips on me now for the last week or so. I just did my second "Treasure in the Sand" run last night. I am really hoping it is infinitely repeatable because I just can't get enough.

I looted a 450ish sniper with electrical damage and I forget the red text on it but it explodes out 3-4 electric orbs on hit (maybe on critical) so that it devastates nearby enemies. I think the orbs are friendly fire too so, on some freak bounces, it cleared my shields. Still, awesome!

I can't wait to get home to find out what I looted last night. I had to log off after looting the treasure room.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

LarryC, I'm on 360, but thank your the kind offer.

I generally do OK, but when I hit the Fridge...yeesh. A Badass Psycho (the one armed dude with wwwwaaaayyyy too much health) results in multiple respawns, taking all of my cash. I eventually made it to the Hyperion base, but can't get past the Badass loader, never mind what comes after it.

I don't really want to start a new character at this point. I've already run through the story one and a half times, and can't face it again right now! I want to give Gaige a go, but need to give it some time, I think. I'm going to take a Halo break, and then think about a full restart.

That said, if I am online on a Friday or Saturday night after 2200 GMT, and anyone fancies helping me out, I will enthusiastically leap out of whatever game I am playing and boot up BL2.

Both of these still active as of 12:40 PM CST Wednesday.

@spider_j - do you have the Pirate DLC? That may help you quite a bit. But if you are burnt out on BL2 it may not pay dividends until after you take an extended break from it.

I will admit that if you are planning on getting the Pirate DLC that you should really spring for the Season Pass.

New patch.

Balance adjustments to "The Bee":

Increased Recharge Delay
Significantly increased Recharge Rate
Reduced Amplify damage

:(

Does that mean our current Bees will somehow get nerfed? Aaaaaaaand they still haven't fixed the eyefinity/surround issue. How lame. I've put the game aside for now and probably won't play it until they fix what's completely broken.

You have played 155.6 hours of Borderlands 2 according to steam. I don't think they will mind if you are done now

Did anyone else have their skills reset after the last update on 360? Fired this up last night and updated and my Maya had no skills but 35 points waiting to be spent.

I'm not really doing it in protest because I know that they don't give a sh**. I'm mostly just waiting for the level cap to raise. I figure that it's not particularly worth it for me to grind away because as soon as the level cap goes up, all that work won't exactly be worthwhile. My hope is that they'll fix it before then, but I highly doubt they will.

In other news, Gearbox gave me a completely canned response to my support ticket that didn't answer any questions. I'm not too happy about that.

I was looking more closely at the list and they DID fix this bug:

"Fixed a bug in the inventory UI when quickly scrolling to the bottom of a list using the mouse wheel."

That was super annoying. You had to click on the map tab or something and then back to your inventory tab to get around this.

Nice! That bug hits me almost every single session.

Yeah that scroll bug was annoying.

Sucks for the Bee Shield. Especially that projectiles thing. It was ridiculous when I used my shotgun with 17 spread or whatever, and each pellet got the bonus.

Ah well. Fun while it lasted I guess.

Eh. Now you can only use it on automatic weapons. Not the end of the world, exactly.

Oh good I thought I was doing something wrong.
