NBA Season 2012-13. Draft and off-season 2013.

Was the friggin draft at 6? I can't believe I slept 2 hours immediately after work.

No you still have 2 hours.

Hoping we get one more signed up still. If anyone would check their PM or be online on Steam... sheesh.

Sorry I realized that right after I posted. Blind != DS.

Bueller? Bueller?

Still one spot up for grabs in the next 45 minutes. Come on, let's get to 12 teams.

iaintgotnopants is stepping in like a champ to help us out! We've got 12!

Having a weird issue with the draft room now that it's open. Had to open two separate windows to control both of my teams. This is how both nopants and I did it:

Go to the "my team" tab on the league page.
There's a dropdown with your team names.
Select your first team, click enter draft, it opens a poppup.
Select second team, click enter draft, opens another popup.
Should be logged in and able to pick for both teams.

Fun draft, thanks guys

I am going to regret Ersan Ilyasova, I suspect.

Thanks for coming out tonight guys. Got until Mon to set your rosters for the week.

Working on balancing the schedule with 2 division games, and not playing your own team from the other division. I think I can can sort this out.

EDIT: Only took 45 min, but I finally got it balanced.

Lakers getting shamed by the Clippers in the first half. The Clippers are full of ex-Lakers and their whole team looks ready to scrap. The Lakers look bewildered and befuddled.

I wish it weren't so, but I have to call it like I see it. Chris Paul is transforming the Clippers. If he leaves (or never gets traded to the Clips) they are a completely different team.

I'm getting really irritated with my league pass purchase.

The broadband service says that my email and password combo isn't recognized. When I reset the password, the page they sent me to lets me log in, but when I launch the broadband window it still says the info is wrong. Going to have to call them tomorrow, on top of another annoying customer service issue.

Also, when subscribing it says in big letters that NBA TV is included! (in most markets). Apparently I'm not in most markets, because my cable provider says I need their "extreme" or "premium" package to get the channel. I let that slide, but tonight I can't watch the Timberwolves. Tomorrow night either! Great.

Week 2 (our first week) matchups start tonight:

Stele's Pacers
James Spartans

Stele's Cardinals
bad team name

Handy Men
Frosted Rubi-O's

Handy Boys
Royce White-Castles

Blind_Ballers
Citizen86's 76ers

Citizen86's Lakers
equally bad team name

Good luck everyone! Don't forget to set your starters for each day of the week.

Yay, go Wolves!

Down by 22 at a point, they held the Nets to ten points in the fourth quarter to win 107-96.

There's some weirdness going on with the box scores, probably the result of NYC power and communication issues again. I listened on the radio. Didn't watch, because eff you NBA TV.

Thank you, I'm still in a Fantasy Football mindset and was trying to make sense of how this would work week to week.

EDIT: I now have no idea what to do with half of the Royce White-Castles expected to be injured for a month or more. Autodraft was much kinder to the James Spartans.

Yeah we were feeling for you as we saw injured player after injured player get drafted.

We still need to talk trades, as a group. I guess I could e-mail everyone? General feeling in the draft was "no trades with your 2nd team."

If I were you, I'd probably drop Avery Bradley and Nene. Park Dirk, Bynum, and Eric Gordon on the bench and pick up a couple starters that weren't drafted (quite a few available). Also, make sure to set your lineups. I'm doing it every Monday night, but you can handle it however you like.

Fantasy: did the stats from last night accrue properly? My two matchups were 0-0 this morning after being 6-2 and 3-5 late last night.

Looks fine right now and when I checked earlier.

Stele's Pacers 3
James Spartans 6

Stele's Cardinals 6
bad team name 3

Handy Men 7
Frosted Rubi-O's 2

Handy Boys 7
Royce White-Castles 2

Blind_Ballers 7
Citizen86's 76ers 2

Citizen86's Lakers 3
equally bad team name 6

If anyone else wants to join me in the official Nikola Pekovic fanclub, now's a great time.

When asked what the key was to Alexey Shved's breakout game and Minny's comeback win against Brooklyn:

"You think because of that we win?" Pekovic asked. "Me and AK, we make him to cut his hair. Now he look like a man."

Holy spam Batman!

I like how one is straight up called "Cheap Jerseys from China", haha. At least they're 'honest'.

Mike Brown fired. No real comment just putting it here if you missed it.

That's the equivalent of firing an NFL coach before the first game is over. Insanity.

I would say "that was quick", but I never understood the Mike Brown hiring. I felt like he was a terrible coach and never understood why he was hired to coach LA. Especially not with Brian Shaw and other Phil Jackson acolytes hanging around.

The best comment from the ESPN article by a reader.

Hire Stan Van Gundy... just to see Dwight Howards face.

Ironically he's one of the better coaches out there.

Somewhat shocking, but not shocking. I dunno.

It's like, 0-8 preseason is awful. But it's preseason. So if things got better in the regular season, no big deal. But 1-4 start is almost as bad. It doesn't seem to be getting better.

And like Barkley kept saying last week, don't want the Princeton offense, or any players from Princeton. Seemed like a weird direction to take the team in the whole time.

I'm getting Dish installed today. I was looking at games though... I didn't know that the Time Warner deal with the Lakers though meant that I won't be able to watch ANY Lakers games. Even local ones, they're only being broadcast on Time Warner and whatever deals they've made. I think DirecTV gets it as well. That's nuts.

Seems like my option is basically only the League Pass now.

League Pass is also terrible, IMO. They blackout so many games that it becomes really really frustrating. League Pass is good for watching teams that never show up on ESPN, TNT or local.

Yeah, actually it might still be blacked out because they're technically "local", but blacked out. *sigh*, so I guess I have no options, except maybe a friend's place.

So one of the worst coaches in the NBA was fired? I really don't understand how anyone could look at Mike Brown's career and go, "Yeah this guy got screwed over with the talent on his teams!" He has had some of the best teams in the past decade and it was always so entertaining for me to watch Lebron try to overcome horrible coaching with amazing ability.

Didn't realize they went 0-8 in the pre-season. yikes.

Pretty much makes sense to me. As Kobe goes, goes the Lakers.
