Please hand in your LEGO card.

Can't, I took it apart to make a spaceship out of the pieces.

I just wanted to say how awesome that was as a come back.

Does someone have this in their silly purchase index?

I do it's not that rare, i think they made like 3k of them.

That's it, I'm moving Colorado! I have had an interest in 3D printing for the longest time. I wish I would have backed the Form 1 on Kickstarter.

What did you use for the scanning of your son?

If you need any help with modelling, I work as a CAD designer; if it's a man made object I can work with it.

Agreed. You may rebuild and keep your card. Just watch your spelling next time or I'll send the minifig cops.

That was just a Kinect camera and ReconstructMe console version. Ghostship's links look much better for the same "free with household items" budget.

Careful what you offer! I've done a little with SketchUp in the past but now I'm trying to dive into some SolidWorks tutorials since I haven't really done much since an Engineering 101 AutoCAD class too long ago.

Why do people feel the need to religiously defend the Lego Group's desire to have their products referred to a specific way? I mean, nobody gets up in arms when people call tissue's Klenex.

Nope. I'll always call them Legos because F*CK THE DANES!

Norfair wrote:

Probably because nobody knows what you're talking about.

Well if you want any tips let me know, I'm certified in Solidworks.

FTFY ...seems more analogous.

Grammar nazis get bent about pluralizations, why would it stop at a product name?

I can help you out with SketchUp, and 3dsMax. I'm not certified though.

Learning Solid Works is an interesting idea. The BIM movement in architecture makes me wonder if you could do a building with it.

I've heard of Bentley and Catia being used for buildings.

So on October 31 I bought these:

and on November 1 I bought this:

So... it's two purchases, but technically I'm in different months

Waiting on the Vita to get out here, unfortunately Amazon says it'll take 15 days to get to Afghanistan The waiting is killing me already.

The QC15s are amazing though! I'm 100% pleased so far, as there's a lot of noise to be blocked out. I didn't seem to notice as much until I started blocking it out, it's almost too quiet now.

Awesome! I'm playing my way through AC3 now, an I'd love to try Liberation, but can't justify getting a Vita.

Yes! We need more people buying Vitas. Be sure to hit up the Vita thread for advice/suggestions. There is some hidden menu stuff that's easy to miss. For example, holding down the PS button and Start at the same time takes a screenshot.

Yes, they are. I love mine!

...from a recent woot deal. Actually bought 2 pairs. So far they are leaps and bounds better than what I had. Also bought windows 8, some might consider that a silly purchase, but I'm loving it.

I have a stack of games, PSN and PSP classics that beg to differ

Saw this guy at Target and couldn't resist. It came with a matching travel mug too for only $10. Not a bad deal if I do say so myself.

Needed a new laptop so I bought one of these newfangled things. I could have gotten more power for the money but I'm not much of a PC gamer and even if I were I would probably get an actual desktop. I needed something for general computing and got a tablet out of the deal as well, the way I see it.

Looks quite nice. Give an update after a while on how you liked it

Tickets to this Thursday's Virginia Tech / FSU game, seats are section 12, row T. It's silly because we're not supposed to be spending unnecessarily , it'll likely be really cold, and Tech will most likely lose horribly. At least the wife is an FSU fan.

Nice. My Lenovo Tablet is getting a little long in the tooth, been thinking I need to save up the money to get a new one. Let me know how it works out. In particular, did they get their drivers sorted out that you can have pressure sensitivity on the tablet pen and still be able to use touch? Or do they even still come with pens?

Mantid wrote:

No pen. The screen is flesh-only as far as I can tell.

Yes the whole state and, there's nothing you can do about it.

Wouldn't it be easier just to scan and print out a second Colorado?
