[trailer] Wreck-It-Ralph

Looks pretty funny. It is also funny how he says to enjoy the trailer exclusively on MSN...but it is on Youtube.

Nice. Looks good!

In.

They've got my token.

Fun concept, and I'm a little surprised by the number of real video game characters in there. Looking forward to this one.

I'm looking forward to all the Roger Rabbit style cameos.

It's amazing how Disney money can overcome legal issues and copyright protection. I'm in!

Seeing this trailer in a theater would be hell. This is one of those things where people who wouldn't care about the content see a voice actor's name and then the response to the next line is all "AAAAAAH! That's hilarious!"

Speaking of - cripes, can Jane Lynch get cast in something where she doesn't play her typecast self for once?

That said...yeah, I'll see it.

It even had dubstep!

Something like this?

Though that's what she was doing right before Glee, which is what made her thing her thing...and now that I think about it, it's likely exactly what you were thinking of, but I'm going to put it up anyway.

The movie looks cute.

Wow, I'm definitely 'in' on this one. That looks awesome.

In on the concept and the characters I love in a movie, but the trailer didn't wow me or give me a good impression about its tone or pace. Seems like a light-hearted adventure. I'd be good with that.

Sweet! Looks good.

New video and i'm weirdly excited to see this... maybe because they actually got real characters... oh Zangeif you make me laugh so!

Definitely excited to see this.

Wow, this was great. Best video game movie ever, not that it's a lofty title. Because of the way Hollywood has treated adaptions in the past, I wasn't expecting anything more than a light and shallow story. Sometimes it's best not to judge. Ralph had me almost tearing up twice, and there wasn't a moment I didn't enjoy. Sarah Silverman was really engaging! I loved that spunky little girl.

I hope Pixar continues at the quality Disney set for itself here. Oh, and I suppose Disney's now doing shorts in front of their movies like Pixar. Love that, and loved the one here, Paperman.

Go see it!

I've seen this a lot, but I question it. Are people not counting Scott Pilgrim? I would, and that was a helluva film.

I also really liked the first Silent Hill, but I know I'm in the minority in that regard.

Oh, good point. For as much as I dig Pilgrim, I forget about it a lot. I would still say yes. I did have some minor qualms SP, while I can't even think of anything negative about Ralph.

I'm going to try and get out to see Ralph in the next few weeks. I think the Bad Guys Anonymous group scene sealed it for me.

Definitely worth watching. I loved it all so much.

Spoiler:

Anyone else notice that all the graffiti on the walls was video game related too?

I took my kids to this today. They enjoyed it, and so did I. I too nearly shed manly tears of manliness.

I seen it on Friday and I think I'm going to go see it again next Saturday just because I can't stop thinking about it. I really enjoyed the movie and would like to see it again before it leaves theaters. A wonderful combination of Toy Story, Roger Rabbit, and video game culture.

I loved it. A few moments made me tear up a bit. Had a great time trying to spot the cameos walking around the central hub.

My only complaint were the product placements. At some point I think my eye twitched everytime a product was presented. Would've preferred more cameos instead.

Other than that, it's awesome. Can't wait to see it again.

I only noticed one, and it did take me out of the movie a moment for some reason. When the girl asks if she can play Sugar Rush, one of the boys puts down a drink. Can't remember the product.

Given that Scott Pilgrim is really a comic book movie with video game trappings, I wouldn't count it as such.

Just got back and it was great! Wife enjoyed it a lot too. While the video game jokes are certainly there, they aren't so dominant as to make it unenjoyable or anything to others. At worst, they'll wonder why you're laughing at

Spoiler:

the combination to King Candy's vault

or a graffiti reference to

Spoiler:

an infamous raid encounter

I'm counting it. So there.

Saw it with my wife and kids last night. Really very clever, with plenty of general humour and easter egg type jokes for gamers, as well as some great pokes at video game tropes. My kids are too young to appreciate half the references and characters (I've never shown them any Street Fighter games, and some of the real classics simply aren't around in anything but obscure formats), but I also probably missed a ton of them in the Gaming Central hub scenes.

Fortunately, none of that prevents the fun or plot from moving well. A real fun, sweet story.

And I got watery eyes too, as Pixar nearly always manages. They have some great writers and can make very rough, adult-level scenes fit in just right because of the expressions and/or great voice-acting. They did it in so very well in the Toy Story's and Finding Nemo. In this one, too.

Spoiler:

When Ralph was destroying Venelope's car, her precious one thing she loved so much partly/mostly because she made it. I was impressed with Sarah Silverman's anguish. The combo of her words and expressiveness really got me.

Good _family_ movie - everyone can enjoy.

Actually... BT, this was just Disney while Pixar's entry for this year was a (very good) princess movie.

That said, if you had shown me both of these movies and asked me which was Disney and which was Pixar, I would have been wrong because a movie about a middle aged guy who goes on an adventure that breaks him out of his routine... basically describes Monsters Inc., Wall-E, and Up.

I've noticed a lot lately that people are having a hard time differentiating between Pixar and Disney Animation. Maybe I just pay too much attention, but I actually find it really easy to know which ones are which. That also might be because I have a love affair with all things Pixar. And hope to work there in the future.

EDIT: I'm also loving how fantastic Paperman was. And how beautiful it all looked.
