NCAA Football 2012 Season Catch-All

Well come on, Miss St. is the most fraudulent ranked team. The teams they have beat so far are just awful. MTSU is the only team that they beat with a winning record.

Kinda like #10 having beat a whole two teams with winning records. :P

Thank you, Gumbie, I was too lazy to analyze Louisville's record.

Ags winning 38-13 with 1:21 remaining. Going to be 7-2 after this. Next week, @Bama!

I love those TAMU helmets so much.

*SWOON*

1 team with a winning record is still less than 2, and I don't think anyone believes MTSU is equivalent to UNC or Cincinnati. And now Miss St has 2 losses and should be rightfully unranked next week, while Louisville still has 0 and will be moving up in the top 10.

And we'd have been happy to beat Georgia if they hadn't backed out of their series with us. :p

Anyway, aside from the opening 12 seconds today where we gave up a kickoff return TD, Louisville finally played a complete game. 45-17 thrashing of Temple, backups in for most of the 4th quarter, 5 TDs for Teddy Bridgewater. Another ridiculous game for him, 19/28 to nine different receivers. There's no doubt he's one of best QBs in the country. If not for 4 games played in the rain, his statistics would be even better this year. As it is, 18 TDs vs 3 INTs (2 of which were bobbled by WRs in the rain) this season, and a 70% completion rating.

Looks like Tenn is gonna lose to Troy. Good bye Derek Dooley you won't be missed.

Edit: Tenn tied it up, we've still got time to lose this one though.

Got a nice home clock operator there Gumbie. Troy just got screwed out of 10-12 seconds on those last two first down plays.

EDIT: Anyway... congrats on beating Troy? Or did you really mean it when you said you wanted to lose?

I didn't see it looked like the coach took forever to call timeout. Didn't matter in the long run. The fact that Tenn barely beat Troy is just sad. I hope it's enough to get Dooley sh*t canned immediately.

Well the announcers seemed to think you have a favorable schedule and can still get to 6 wins for a bowl game. Just beat UK and Missouri. Vandy game might be tough, but even at 6-6 with your fan base you'll get a bowl invite.

6-6 and sh*tty bowl game doesn't cut it at Tennessee. Especially when your head coach is 0-15 against ranked opponents.

Reggie Dunn just set the NCAA record for 100-yard kickoff returns with his fourth.

So sick of Notre Dame getting calls. Pitt better win after those free points.

Unbelievable. Pitt missed a 33-yd FG to win in 2nd OT.

Check their kicker's eligibility. He's been playing all season for Texas A&M.

Man, that ND-Pitt game was crazy!

I agree, Mississippi State has been the single most overrated team this year. They are not a Top 75 team.

Now for tonight. I'll be cheering on my Bayou Tigers, but something tells me this one could get ugly. If we can stay within 7 at halftime then I think we have a good chance. The one weakness I see Bama is if they are forced to play hard all 60 minutes, there may not be any gas in the tank. So I'm going with my heart and making this prediction:

LSU - 27
Bama - 10

Luck of the Irish indeed.

I don't follow College football but I'll leave this here for you who do.

Zero chance LSU wins by 17. Little chance they win, period. Bama is a complete team; LSU is a great defense.

Absolute facts like that are why I love this thread!

Either go back to your losing team or acknowledge that my call has been spot-on through the first half.

Oh, and go Badgers!

LSU!

Wow! What a drive! Let's see if LSU can answer.

Nope, wow what a game. I don't know how any of the SEC haters can say that was a boring game. Much better than watching Oregon run all over USC.

Nope, it was a fun game. I was rooting for LSU to help create an SECless NCG, though.

But I am bad luck for whoever I root for in football.

*edit* Crap, that means I am rooting for A&M next week! Well, maybe I should root for Alabama to spank the ever-loving daylights out of A&M. Then the Aggies can win and help get K-State into the NCG!

The dizzying mental gymnastics of a sports troll.

You know you speak from experience, right?

Wow! That was a 3-beer second half. (I usually stick to one per half.) Like Herbstreit tweeted, it was reminiscent of a year ago when the losing team appeared to win if looked anywhere but the scoreboard. I tip my hat to LSU for a game well played.

TAMU and Georgia should both be good games as well, so we definitely can't put it in cruise control.

Roll Tide!

Hey Grump, do you by chance post on SEC Rant? Saw a post from a reasonable Bama fan, currently living in Austin, figured there couldn't be two.

Nope, not me. I love you and only you, GWJ.

As for your second sentence, having met some myself, I can tell you there's more than one.

Careful.. Cal has a way of sneaking up on...bwhahahahaha.. I can't even say it with a straight face.

Unfortunately for Oregon, Cal is awful and for whatever reason they decided to put the game on at 7:30 pacific time so unfortunately the east coast hacks won't get a chance to see you guys completely run us over.

Part of me doesn't want to even bother showing up, and I know my wife is mad because now we have to get up at the crack of dawn on Sunday morning, put on our nice clothes and hop a plane to get to a wedding in LA. Unfotunately I'm a glutton for punishment and I'll be there on Saturday night... I am well beyond despair now, so when we get down by 30 i'll just be kicking back enjoying any small victory (first down.. completed pass... false start on Oregon). No reason to get mad anymore. Just enjoy a fine Bay Area evening.

At least you will get to see a really good Oregon team in person. I would love to see them live.

Ducks looked very good, as expected, and people are finally talking up Kenjon Barner. Feels like it's taken forever for the media to notice him. The crazy part is that he's going to have most of the school rushing records playing as the second back the last few years. D'Anthony Thomas got far more hype going into this season than Barner, but Oregon's been blessed with great backs. Oh and it was great to see LaMichael James on the sideline for this game as well.

I was a little surprised that there was no mention of all the calls that went USC's way. I'm completely biased (of course) but the refs threw a bunch of calls USC's way in the 3rd and 4th quarter - it felt like the Madden CPU giving the trailing team calls to get them back in the game. It was so egregious - then I remembered that USC always gets the calls. Fortunately the Ducks won despite the bad officiating.

I feel good about the rest of the season.
