Pencon 2012

Hey tigerbill, why is his friend bolded?

Glad I was able to introduce one of my friend to the rest of you.

Now that I have slept about 16 hours I feel alert again. Thanks to everyone for coming to the first big gaming event at the castle. I think it was a great success. All of us here at the castle appreciate you visiting. All of the ladies said you were an easy going group that was fun to host.

Thank you to everyone who sat through me learning the rules to a new game as we were playing. I wish I had been better prepared but, well I wasn't.

Joust was absolutely wonderful. That guy needs to let us throw money at him in some form. Highlight of the weekend.

FYI if you are interested in playing more games at Ravenwood in the coming months we have some events you might be interested in.

Slap & Tickle Dec. 1st at the castle I am hosting my first S&T. I am new to southern Ohio and want to welcome fellow goodjers to my new house (castle) so that we can play games and have a good time. I have reserved the Library and Pub.

Zenke LFG Feb 1st & 2nd Our fellow goodjer Michael Zenke will be running Pathfinder sessions all day Saturday. We will be filling out the rest of the weekend with rpg from other DMs, board games and good times.

RavenCon March 1st & 2nd Will be a gaming weekend to raise money for Child's Play in the castle. Colby Dauch of PlaidHat Games will be coming down for the weekend to play games and demo the games from PlaidHat.

For those of you who were not a part of the DnDNext game on Saturday morning but were interested to hear how it went (are there those people?), here is Episode 1.

A big thanks to quixotic.june for the use of her microphone and to the rest of the breakfast roleplaying party for such a great time.

Please don't let mono's jaw be bruised.
I would be forced to feel bad.

Is this a pre-published adventure or something Oily cooked up? If I can I like to read over an adventure after I've herd it on an actual play podcast, just to see how what the players did differentiated from the original adventure.

I believe Oily "wrote" the adventure.

Yeah, he was just making it up on the fly. We actually had to end early so other things could happen in the library. It'll only go 3-4 episodes. I just thought it might be a fun way to remember our time.

We're good. If there is a bruise it is under the beard therefore doesn't exist. Next time it is on!

Kind of making an inside joke, since we said that should be his new GWJ handle.

Sadly, because Jolly Bill is both Jolly and extremely late, we only did the parts of the adventure I was making up on the fly. I had the end scripted out.

Oh well, we may get to it.

Google hangout ftw.

I fully endorse this then. It will be tough but I think I can incorporate him into the complex branding.

Instead, I think complex should just change his name to FriendofMike.

I think you just came up with Complex's tag.

It's like FriendofDorthy but dresses way worse.

Oh, so it is a post count, I always thought it was a time thing. Dang I have not hit 1k yet? what have I been doing this whole time!

My life is wasted.

Well I finally have a minute to sit and write out my thoughts about the weekend. I had a fantastic time, played lots of games and had lots of interesting conversations and experiences. My only complaint would be that it was far too brief!

So many people to thank. First and foremost is Tigerbill. Bill, you're my personal hero, not only for driving my late ass to the castle and back to the airport, but for being a friendly and all-around great guy.
Oily, Teneman, Mono, NSMike and all the other boffins who helped put this together, thank you so much for your time and dedication. You've really created something special.
Thanks SuperDave for hauling all that band equipment, I know it was a pain. I wish we could have gotten more out of it, but what we did was good fun. I could feel the potential.
Thanks to Bill Abner for letting us playtest 'Tommorow' and actually listening to our comments. It was a very unique experience and a great insight into the design process.
Thank you Charlie Hall for showing Gunner, Boogle and I how to play Labyrinth. I'll be picking up my own copy soon. (FYI guys, GMT is running a 20% off sale at the moment. Use the code Fall201220. The other games we discussed at the time were Twilight Struggle, Andean Abyss and A Distant Plain /plug)
Sorry Gunner, I wish we could have played more than half a game of Troyes together. If it's any consolation, I only ended up playing one game out of my big box o' games.
Thank you for the guy I shared the futon with in the sleeping beauty cabin for not snoring or cuddling, and being super understanding when I had to move you at 3am. And sorry for not even getting your name, we were never awake at the same time!
And lastly, thanks to absolutely everyone who showed up for being such positive, interesting, fun, welcoming and hilarious people. You made the trip to Ohio totally worth it and awesome!

Alright I'm done with my love-in. You guys can carry on.

That was Lupus Umbrus that you shared the futon with, by the way.

Yeah, and you thoroughly kicked our asses at it. Even though my attempt to cut off all the ports for you guys failed miserably.

Forgot to thank Zenke, for the amazing Pathfinder session. I wish it could have been longer but, you probably would have been horse from doing the voices.

I'm glad that someone knew. I thought it was odd thy Lupus had no clue who was in bed with him.
