Xbox Smart Glass app is out. Requires ICS or above. Kills it for me until I upgrade phones.

It doesn't work with the Nexus 7 either.

Weird.

That's just the kind of game I was looking for. Purchased and downloading. Thanks!

I just grabbed it as well based upon the video. I was looking for something to play on my phone!

It's very good, but very strange.

Do you think the strange, vaguely "bad translation" dialogue is purposeful or accidental?

Tried it on my RAZR MAXX. Neat that I can control my 360 and all, but the touchscreen swiping just isn't precise enough to make it useful. Jumped into Borderlands 2 for a moment looking to see what bonus content it might have, none was there. Same with Minecraft. Cool idea and all, but not much to it yet.

Wait, why did you think those games had bonus content?

I didn't think any games except Dance Central 3 supported it yet (playlists). But I haven't really kept up too closely.

I think Halo 4 will have support as well, but I'm not sure.

I really hope it takes off to allow things like couch Settlers of Catan and other games that don't offer local multiplayer because of hidden hands.

That'd be pretty awesome, actually.

Didn't pay any attention to the details, I just knew there would be bonus content for some games and figured Borderlands 2 had a decent shot for being one of them with its newness and hype-ness.

It's not bonus content as much as it is an additional interface. For instance, game inventory or song lists.

So don't expect retrofits of games that don't ship with it.

Does anyone know what the system requirements are for it? The game won't run on my Inspire 4G (at least, Google Play thinks it's "incompatible"). I mean, it's a 2-year-old phone, but it isn't completely worthless. Is it tablet-only or something?

Shows up as available on my Samsung Galaxy S3

Likewise on my Galaxy Nexus, but it's apparently not compatible with my two-and-a-bit year old HTC Desire.

Weird.

I wager that has to do with the lack of a back camera. Kills the amazon app for me too through this.

Somebody in the thread in Games here said they were able to load an apk from XDA and it works.

Yeah, that was me. No problems with it working at all. After a day, I'm still not sure what it is for, though.

MS trying to out dual screen Wii U is what it's for. But it's also an extension to the "companion device" thing they've had available on Win Phone and iOS for nearly a year.

So it's both a navigation aid for the dashboard and something to help in dual screen functionality in game. I think the games it works with in the near future are Dance Central 3, Foriza Horizon, and Halo 4/Waypoint.

You sonofa...

I have so many other games to play!! Why would you tell me this?!

$10, not bad for a Square game. With FFIII being a significantly lesser game and sitting at $16 Square might just get my money for CT.

If I get a phone with a keyboard, I might consider it. I tried doing that soda-guzzling contest on my Nook with an emulator, and it was impossible!

Well, I'd hope they did something to make the game more compatible with phones and/or touch screens. I haven't played any of the FF games on a mobile platform, so I don't know how much TLC they put into these games.

I assume it works fine, I mean there are just some things that a touchscreen plain old won't work for that a controller will handle better. I mean, that soda guzzling game was hard enough with a controller....

If it is anything like the iOS version, I'd avoid it. The game itself runs fine, but the virtual buttons make it a bit too difficult and ruin a great game. It might be better on a bigger screen, I suppose. If you have a PSP, Vita, DS or 3DS, it's better to play on any of those.

Smart Glass is pretty cool so far. If nothing else, I vastly prefer my Galaxy Nexus onscreen keyboard to the Xbox controller when sending a message. I'm really looking forward to content for other games, especially games that have a map which takes up valuable screen real estate.

I plunked down the $10 for Chrono Trigger (or rather, I used some of my Nexus 7 app store credit for it).

The controls are pretty meh, though I suppose they're better than an emulator. I wish they'd done tap to move rather than virtual stick, ugh. The menu system is fine for touch though.

On a small screen, I'm guessing this would be nearly unplayable.

It's amazing what a sense of nostalgia this game brings with it. I played through this game when it came out, and maybe once about a year later, but I've never touched it on an emulator and I figured it wouldn't hold up. Based on my initial impressions... I don't think it really does. But still, it's kind of worth going back to see what I used to like, and ponder why I don't like it any more.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted
Now available on the Play Store.

571 MB so get it on WiFi or lots of data.

Only compatible with my Galaxy S3 so I'll have to wait till I get my Nexus 10 for tablet use as my Iconia wont play it. This is the first time i've come across an app taht my Iconia won't play so clearly the timing of the release of the Nexus 10 is well, timely.

Hmm, if I wasn't playing the Penny Arcade game right now, perhaps, but... Nah.

Oh look, i'm quoting myself.

On my S3 this game is one of the smoothest racing games I have ever played. The rendering is awesome. When you launch the game it throws you right into a tutorial race to tell you how to control. Tilt to steer is very easy, drifting is manageable and breaking is intuitive.

Looking forward to many hours on this. Can't wait to try it on my Nexus tablet!

I must say that I am enjoying Knights of Pen & Paper. It simulates playing both the DM and the characters in a P&P RPG. For the most part you get to choose who you fight as the DM and it is a pretty straightforward RPG. It is fun to constantly see the table in all the fights and you can get some boosts for your characters by getting pizza or soda.

It's diverting but it is purely grind.

I'm really impressed with the NGSMW game. On a 7" tablet, the tilt controls are a lot of fun. I never really got on with racers on my iPad as they feel too unwieldy, and too crowded on my phone, but the middle size is the sweet spot for me. It really is a very well executed game.
