Finished Any Games Lately?

Just "finished" Fallout 3. I'd put in hundreds of hours across multiple playthroughs but never pushed the main storyline forward. I decided to blitz through the main story to finally move fallout 3 off my pile. I enjoyed it, but man that game would have been short if you just stuck to the main story.

True, but the thing I love about playing these Bethesda games this way is that the story feels sooo much more epic when you have that many hours behind it to develop your character and your attachment to the other characters. At least for me.

Finished up Left 4 Dead. My schedule doesn't allow for co-op MP, so I played through the campaign SP. It was totally fine. Level design was neat; I loved how they used color contrast and lighting to guide me through the open corridors. I only once in all the missions went the wrong way and ran into a "wall".

My inability for co-op would mean that harder difficulties would be kind of dull. I imagine the fun comes from the interaction between players, cos you're just running and shooting otherwise. Nice game, overall. Glad I got it cheap!

Finished up the Unfinished Swan this weekend and have to say that it was one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I have had in the last couple of years, shame it is so short

I'm actually excited now that you mention the shortness. I'll definitely have to finish it now that I know it won't be a significant time investment.

Dishonored is done. I think the ending(s)/beginnings don't matter too much with this game to me. It is the in between that is fascinating. The violent path is still way easier to slice your way through the hordes of bodies. It is faster to drop someone in your path than it is to spare them. The non violent path has its moments but it is rewarding.

A little touch I liked is

Spoiler:

You meet the Lord Reagent of the first mission in the flooded area if you spared him. He becomes a weaper which is kind of cool to see him at almost his lowest point. He still carries the mark of the Heretic. Why they didn't remove his officer uniform I don't know other than to recognize him.

I finished up Dragon Age II this morning. It was my second playthough, but my first on the PC (got the PC version for free through the Origin dealie). It had been awhile since I played it on the 360, so it was an almost-new experience.

Metal Gear Solid 3 down (thanks to the Vita version). I loved almost everything about it.

Does Frog Fractions count? Because I totally finished that. And I may have to play through again with the sound on, as apparently I missed an additional layer of insanity. (catch-all).

XCOM Enemy Unknown twice over in the past week. Barring future purchases this is my GOTY.

Finished Lollipop Chainsaw just now. I've had it from my rental service since August and got to start it this week when I had to stay downstairs to watch the puppy and finished it today when my PC crashed. The combat system is terrible (slow, laggy, enemies get cheap knockdowns which require button mashing to recover from) and despite this, the game's really easy and really short. But holy crap, if that wasn't some of SUDA51's finest insanity yet and damn if that isn't one of the best, most diverse game soundtracks I've ever heard. Everything from 50s hits to death metal. It's crazy. I ended up having more fun with it than I thought. I can keep it from the rental service for like $15, I might just do that.

Played through Dead Space 2 and a NewGame+ this weekend. I had a lot of problems with running the original on PC, keyboard+mouse was a terrible interface and when you did decide to use a controller the input lag was horrendous. This game solves all my problems with Dead Space 1, technically and aesthetically, as well as throwing out loading screens to eke out every bit of immersion possible. A worthy successor to a great game, can't wait to see the third outing for this franchise. Hopefully Visceral can do for survival horror co-op what Resident Evil 5 could not.

I can be a perfect testament to that. Fallout 3 was the first Bethesda RPG I had played without a guide (should've never played with one in the first place), so I wasn't yet aware of how to "find" side quests. I finished that game in about 4 hours with very few side quests and was the most pissed off at the end of a video game that I have ever been in my life. I went through and tried to replay it after a friend told me what an idiot I was, but being as pissed off at it as I was, I couldn't find much enjoyment in it. Score a point for me >:(

For realz.

I just beat assassins creed 1 & 2 wiithin a week. Been Playing Gears of War 3 now, I am on act 5, I think I am almost done with that one too.

Finished Trine 2. Very pretty game.

I really should finish that one of these days.

Has anyone tried the DLC expansion? I only remember hearing about it when it was released.

X-Com Enemy Unknown. On Normal.

Tried playing through again on Classic Ironman, but I was getting decimated. So I downed it a bit to Normal Ironman, and so far am about 6 missions in and haven't lost anyone yet. I think this is because I'm just that much more knowledgeable than my first playthrough, and things will chance once I get to the Cyberdisks

Got to the final boss in The Binding of Isaac. The game has been about discovery more than completion, so I'm taking my experience of the final boss as a moment to say "I did it!". Took me ~12 hours to do it. Loved it loved it loved it. Not that I'm done playing the game. Just excited to be mentally cleared of it and move on to other delights!

Which final boss did you get to?

The expansion is good. It's basically more Trine 2 with some new powers that are surprisingly cool.

Pikmin! I'm waiting on a couple deliveries before I can use Dolphin as a Wii emulator so I popped in this oldie. I love everything about this game. Next up Pikmin 2 or Skyward Sword.

That's just the beginning

Just finished Fallout 2 this weekend. Overall, it was a great follow-up to the original, but I felt like it dragged-on. Took me about 48 hours compared to about 25 for FO1. I liked the epilogues for each town, but wished they were more than just narrated text.

I got all 36 acheivements, so I'm considering myself finished with Jetpack Joyride.

I beat 10000000! I had heard a lot of people struggling with this one, but I beat it without even trying this morning on the way to work.

Pretty sad that it is over, but it was definitely worth playing.

I just finished Combat Wings Battle of Britain. It took me over a year to finish, in 20-30 min increments. I have been playing this WW2 arcade flight sim with my 4-year old son. He could shoot with the joystick while I controlled the plane with my keyboard. Yeah I know sounds stupid, but hey it was a way the two of us could play together. Anyways I was going through a mission this weekend and after we finished it, it said game over. I was a bit taken back. It's probably the first game I finished in like 3 years.

Forza Horizons, or at least as close as I am going to get. Go to level 25 or so in multiplayer and it's fairly boring. Finished the campaign so yeah, I guess I'm done.

Knocked off a stealth playthrough of Dishonored. Didn't kill anyone directly, but a few got eaten by rats and a couple had falls they didn't survive. Great game overall, will go back for a high-chaos playthrough soon.
