Guild Wars 2 Catch All

I gave up on it last night after about 2 hours of attempts. this morning I dud it on my 5th or 6th try.

I hated every minute if it but I would really like to complete all Halloween achievements.

They've added in a beta change to the FoV now, add -testVerticalFov to the command line to see. I seems to be more GW1 style, which is nice.

My WvW matchup seems to be a bit more interesting this week, rather than just being 3rd, we've slipped down the rankings enough to find a server we're (currently) roughly equal with. Unfortunately, we're also matched up against a German server where a load of good guilds migrated to and their score is about the sum of the other two servers.

Does anyone know if it is possible to add a PayPal account/CC of another country into the Black Lion Post? 10 Euro vs 10 Dollar make a bit of a difference for me right now.

I have no idea if it is useful though, with PayPal eating the exchange fee and whatnot too .. I better sleep on that some more.

Quite literally.

I'm quite pleased by the fact that the love for Mesmers have caught on. Guess I was right in seeing the potential of the class and sticking with it in the early stages. No more of that s{racist slur}ing behind my back when I revived in WvW

I like how they took the time to halloween up the crafting interface backgrounds.

Ya, it's weird but small touches like that go a long way towards building goodwill for me. This is the kind of stuff that made me love arenanet because it shows that this game is a labor of love for them.

I tried spvp (mists) for first time since beta. The map ui seems more crisp. I wasn't hopelessly lost on pirate ship map with underwater combat given all my pve. Overall I kind of like the unpredictable chaos of wvw better although I do like the diversity of spvp builds more (such as getting to fight dagger eles or more melee centric guardians)

That's a reasonably fun instance.

Hmmm, logged in, ran the Act 3 instance and then got kicked out because it lost connection. Now I can't log in. Hopefully the loot I had picked up moments before will still be there when I'm able to log back in.

Same and I have not been able to get launcher to connect since

Their website's down too, they're having "connectivity issues in [their] datacenters"

Ugh I hope they add more time to their halloween events, I gots pumpkins to carve!

They're back up now, you can resume pumpkin carving.

I think that particular event, setting a one time event and advertising that time really gave them the worst case scenario in terms of people logging in. It's the first time since launch, and with all the people who've bought it in those two months, at primetime of when most people will be active, when everyone wants to see what' going on. I'd say some login servers melting and recovering relatively quickly is a good job.

I was in LA overflow for over an hour (completing the map on my charr) and only got to go to my home server 2 minutes before.

If you're getting connection failed, you're probably still logged, and the remote disconnect feature on the site is broken ATM.

Finally cleared the Mad King's tower after maybe a combined two hours over a couple of nights.

I followed some useful tips by turning down my graphics and just leaving instances that had too many big toons.

Really though, you just have to get conformable making it past the first few jumps, from there you can learn the rest pretty quickly.

My server (Stormbluff Isle) was the #1 server last week in WvW, just as I was trying to figure out what to do with myself in WvW. It was fun to roll through other people's keeps, although it's hard to tell how much I'm contributing on my own.

This week the other two servers seem to have joined up to dogpile Stormbluff Isle, and I'm finding that my mesmer just explodes if I'm caught and don't react in about 1-1.5 seconds. It's a niche problem I know but it can be kind of rough trying to learn the ropes of WvW when everyone is already gunning for you.

I'm on Stormbluff Isle as well and have just started getting into WvW over the past few days. My feelings on it are pretty similar to yours. I've been having a lot of fun rolling around with groups led by a commander, but it is very hard to tell how much I'm helping. It's really strange because sometimes it feels like a numbers game and other times it feels like there's skill involved. You get those overwhelming odds that are impossible to stop, but then we had a skirmish where maybe a dozen of us were holding a chokepoint against what felt like a larger opposing force. That was a lot of fun.

I should add you to my friends list. I'm in a small guild with a few good friends and we don't have quite enough of us on at once to run dungeons. Would like to do some of those! I'm Dreaded Gazebo.2780.

So I entered one of the doors in Queensdale which led me to a Labyrinth. I didn't spend too much time there as I was working on other goals at the time. Does the Labyrinth lead to the Clocktower, or is there another place I need to go to get there?

All the doors lead to the labyrinth, to get to the clocktower just talk to the charr npc that is standing near where you arrive after zoning in.

So, a few peeps gave me food to level up a tad faster.

It says it give 10 more xps per kill. But those the xps adjust itself to what I kill? and Is that the bonus xps I see sometime poping?

I'm not sure, but I think that the extra XP from the buff is figured in the normal XP you get. And I think it's an extra 10% XP (not just +10 XP) and it's just unclear on the description.

The bonus XP is what you get for killing mobs that have existed on the server for a while. The longer they've "lived" on the map, the bigger the bonus.

Great, I just added you to my friends list! I'm still running with Idiot Savants [iQ] but we're not that big a guild, and not organized when it comes to PvE or WvW.

I'd love to do some more organized WvW but don't particularly know what I should be doing (besides not dying and running with the zerg). I've been trying to figure out how to use the Mesmer portals to help our side but I think I need to know the maps better and probably coordinate with a few people over voice chat.

Regarding the new content, and something about a bit of wet weather.

https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/foru...

We heard your questions about extending the Halloween event for those of you affected by Sandy. Unfortunately we cannot do that, but the reason why we can’t is exciting: We are preparing for our big November update, which will start on November 15, and there will be content that will be in the game prior to that, leading up to the event. But we also want to use this moment to remind you all that your personal safety is much more important than any computer game. If you could be affected by the storm, please listen to the authorities and take every precaution to ensure you and your loved ones are safe. Tyria will still be there once the storm is over.

Also from the 1st Nov world transfers are limited to one per 7 days.

Just logged in and found this wonderful Halloween content. Overwhelmed.. where the heck to do I start so I can at least experience some of it before it goes away?

Head to the lion fountain in Lion's Arch. There's a NPC there that kicks off a two part scavenger hunt. You can also enter a portal at the fountain to go through a short dungeon (you'll want 4-5 people). In the areas outside of Lion's Arch you'll find portals to enter that will take you to a labyrinth and the highly maddening clock tower jumping puzzle.

Is there a way to get hall of monument points without owning GW1?

I don't believe so. I'd hope not, us vets worked hard for those points.

Does anyone actually use any of the heritage stuff? I did at first, but reskinning all the time was a PITA.

Sometimes. I like the Fiery Dragon Sword skin, as it turns the weapon's damage into fire damage and provides a nice light source. When I had spare room in my bank I'd just get like 50 copies of the skins I wanted to use and kept them in there. I use the heritage armor on my alts too.

And no, there's no way to get HoM points without owning GW1.
