ACCEPTED!

So how does Challonge score things? I'm confused; I'm 4-0-1, but am behind in points to someone who is 3-0-2. That seems... odd, at the least.

Challenge sent to il dottore.

3 points per game win. 1 point per game tie. The reason you're behind is he has won 8 games and you have one 7. The overall match doesn't matter.

I think for the next tournament we will have best of 3 and then matches will be what awards points.

Got it. 2 of the matches were input as a single game, not 2. Cheers!

Challenge sent to Justin Fletcher

What do you mean? I went back and it looked like your matches were reported as two games per match.

Woo!! I get a bye this round. I will take the points for the wins however I can get them.

Waiting for your invite, Heartly7. Good luck!

Challenge Sent to Cyrax.

Also, kind of surprised I'm the only one to tie every single match. So, I win right?

Invite sent to Oily Penguin. Now I just have to wait for you guys to 'wake up' tomorrow/today.

Time zones are funny

clakatello narrowly took our first game, 65-64. I think that massive turn you had where you defeated Tarik, copied Emri and then defeated the Noxious Soul (along with other stuff as well) was key. Also, I had Raj come up several times with no heroes in the center row, that was not helpful :p, good game!

Trounced by Dixie in both rounds. I'll post the scores tomorrow unless they beat me to it.

Sheer luck, sir, sheer luck. I couldn't get to sleep and just happened to catch you on-line, but I barely remember the games. Just that I spent a lot of time worrying about my Everbloom in the first round, and about your Everbloom in the second. Good matches, regardless.

I did manage to note down the scores before I passed out, so I just put them into Challonge.

Sent a game invite to Heartly7. Good luck!!

Good games yesterday Justinbot. I have never abused that 'discard two cards get 3 honor' construct as much as I did in that second game.

One of my friends hates that card, primarily because if his wife gets that out she'll just abuse it to victory.

Not just a tactic applied to the card game, or is that just my experience alone?

I really really need to work on how I phrase things around here....

Playing against the tournament organizer is not fun... Bigred DECIMATED ME hardcore both times.

I think he was using black voodoo magic. The end of the last round he pulled about 2 billion victory points OUT OF NOWHERE!

GG Bigred

GG! After the horrible, decimation I faced last round vs Il Dottore, this felt much better. Both games the board lined up well for my initial strategies. 2nd game I took a gamble with early mechanas and they continued to show up in the middle making it a very comfortable game for me.

And I totally didn't catch you doing that and thought I had the game in the bag. I don't think it was until the last 3 rounds that I realized my 20~30 point lead was gone!

Yeah, the mechanas are sneaky. You see you're 15ish points ahead of me but I secretly have 30 hidden points of mechanas with a bunch of cycling abilities.

True. I really need to start paying attention to how the cards interact with each other. I know I'm missing a lot of the subtleties of the game because of it. Heck, I'm still not sure why'd you ever want to destroy a card in your hand/discard pile, other than to increase your chances of a better card being drawn. :S

Maths :p In other words, what would you rather have more often: 5 Mystics or 5 Apprentices?

EDIT: The trick is that with banishing your militia and apprentices, you need to also buy replacements. Kill off too many, too fast and you'll find your buying power is supremely curtailed even though you can cycle through your deck fast.

Oh, and it's not just about drawing better cards, but also making sure those better cards come up more often.

Clakatello has also taken our second game, 72-66. I could never quite catch up to your honor lead starting from the everbloom on the first round. GG!
