NFL 2012 Week 7 Thread

Ooh double-box TDs on RedZone. Giants and Titans.

There is no other way to watch football anymore. I can barely stand Mon/Sun night games.

Oh Redskins... back to back fumbles on catches. 4 turnovers the 2nd half. Way to blow it.

Who is this Josh Freeman guy throwing for 400 yards?

Oh you have to be kidding. WR stepped out of bounds. TD waived off. Game over instead of OT. Poor Bucs.

Every Jacksonville Drive:

1st down: Run. 8 men in the box.
2nd down: Run. 9 men in the box.
3rd down: Pass. All pass defenders dropped back 10+ yards because it's 3rd-and-12. Force underneath throw that's short of the 1st.
4th down: Bryan Anger punts the ball a mile.

Maybe try passing it before 3rd and long? Granted, the ball will probably be dropped (18 pass drops in 5 games), but hey.

2nd and 8, play action TD, 42 yards. Maybe they were setting things up with all the running.

It's great to see Cecil Shorts get the start. He's obviously the only deep threat on the team. They spent the bye week getting him ready to play every-down football.

Just Drop, Baby!!!

time to start drinking....

Panthers. Bah.

Last year the Panthers were just bad. Well, not bad. Somewhere south of mediocre, but not quite bad. Better, though, they were exciting. Fun to watch. Lots of big, unexpected plays.

This year Carolina is bad and boring.

My apologies to any of you who got stuck with that game today. It was just sorry.

TL, DR: My Sundays in November and December just opened up. Hope the weather's good.

Really Sanchez? Really? Wide open man in the end zone and thats the throw you come up with?

Oh Sanchez, you are so bad. It's too bad your backup is even worse.

Gabbert on the sideline after an apparent shoulder injury. And after having an excellent start to the game.

Hopefully he can return after the half. This is a game Gabbert needs to build on.

I thought he was forced out, then he reestablished himself inbounds. In my eyes it was a good TD, but that call is very subjective.

The disgruntled Jag fans who have been crying for Henne will be quiet after this week.

Hopefully Gabbert's shoulder isn't serious.

Since that play made me 3-0 in the early games, it made me happy. But it could have been called pass interference, illegal contact, or just that he was pushed out and came back. I thought it was a terrible call.

I'd be more worried about MJD.

Jennings can run. Henne can't pass.

They followed up with highlights on RedZone during one of the afternoon breaks (jeez NFL only schedule 2 games at 4 ). It should have been illegal contact, which nullifies the being out of bounds penalty, but because Josh Freeman had left the pocket, there's another rule that makes it not illegal contact.

Apparently the refs got it right, as baffling as it seems.

lol pot roast!

Normally Mike Wiiliams catching a game-tying TD pass as time expires which is overturned because he went out of bounds would have launched me onto a vile, foul-mouthed fan rage, but I decided to just walk out the door and go boogie-boarding in the surf at Cocoa Beach.

Ah, vacation. Also, Mike Williams should be smarter.

One of the only good nicknames in the NFL today.

Oh for f*ck's sake! That's how I'm going to lose my first game this week?

Well, apparently it won't cost me anything in the standings.

As much as I hate the Jets, it's probably more annoying to see the Patriots continue to get so many calls go their way. Even the announcers are talking about that bad PI in OT.

Valiant effort by Janikowski.. was dead on.. just didn't have enough on it.

Honestly though, the Raiders deserve to lose this in OT. This game should not be this close.

So, uh, someone's told the Patriots and Jets punt returners that touchbacks mean you start at the 20, right?

Well he's about to get another shot.

Aww Sanchez fumbles, Jets lose.

Can they please start Tebow already?

Yup.. After doing their absolute best to hand it over, they pull off the win. Ugly Slop, but I'll take it.

Rodney Harrison just called it questionable on NBC. Pretty amazing.

Nooooooooooooo! Don't! The media will hear you!
