Halo 4 - Catch All

Pages

No catch all yet? It's kind of a big deal. And soon!

So who's getting it? After getting my friend hooked on Reach, I kind of have to.

My friend and I have played every Halo game through on co-op. Now that we live 1900 miles apart, we play online Halo co-op once in a while as a way to stay in touch. It's a day one purchase for me.

I'll be day one. I have been extremely impressed with the media they have released in the last few weeks. It's amazing what they are coaxing out of the 360.

The multiplayer looks really good on this one. I'm looking forward to it.

I haven't cared about a Halo game since before Halo:CE got picked up by MS, but I have to say that this one looks pretty interesting. Too bad it won't come to PC.

I'll definitely be getting this. Got the LE pre-ordered! I'll also be going to whatever launch event they have, since I'm lucky enough to be local.

Preordered, and will be at the midnight launch for that gamestore - prolly not the big one, though. The boys have been playing the Anniversary edition and have been enjoying it, so I'm pretty confident in the new guys.

One of my co-workers is a big Halo nut - he's always the first in line for events (sometimes even camping out the day before) and he's pretty well known among Bungie and "the new guys" so I'll be hanging out with him. This will be my first midnight release in quite a while (having to work the next day has a tendency to put a damper on late night plans), so I'm really excited about it.

I keep forgetting to pre-order this, so hopefully I can get that. Although between WriMo, school and work, I don't know how much I'll actually get to play. I'm still excited though!

I'm on the fence with it. I've never played a Halo at release, which has really limited me to single player. Even with Halo's matchmaking I still seem to get in a lobby with veterans, making any match not so much fun.

I've beat everyone other than the first one the night the game has come out with the same friends. But I'm not real worried about the campaign, for multiplayer I just hope they keep the fun game types going.

Zombies/rocket warthog race > deathmatch.

One week of this before BO2

So, anyone into the fiction of the expanded universe? Either the Gregg Bear stuff or the Karen Traviss stuff?

I love all the ones written by Eric nylund. The rest of his books are good as well. I have not read the newer stuff though.

If you get a chance I would recomend the Gregg Bear stuff. It realy provides some fantastic story in the Halo universe but much "higher" level science fiction. Also based on the first two books and the two new Karen Traviss books, I can say with out spoiling anything that there is going to be a "comming together" of the major plot themes around, who the Forerunners were, thier relationship to Humans, the Elites and thier connection to the Forerunners, and the position that Master Chief finds himself in.

I have been meaning to read them I just have so many other books/universes I have been neglecting.

I read the first 2 Greg Bear books (Cryptum and Primordium), and found the pace incredibly slow. Slogged through the first 3/4 of each, and things really picked up on the last quarter.

I'm excited for everything about this game. More so about a few things in particular. I really hope 343 can do what Bungie never did, make a compelling story to go with the universe. Halo has some of my favorite gun play, but I couldn't say even in generalities the Chief's mission or its importance. It always saddened me that the same people who made sure some mechanics were polished to a sheen, also worked with people who were, diplomatically, not quite as talented.

The other thing I want to see is if I can be a part of the great Halo MP experience again. Playing Halo 2 LAN was what I wasted most of my time with while on college grounds. I haven't had a successful time with MP on Live yet, maybe it doesn't like my connection, but if anything works, I hope it's Halo 4.

Ack, still haven't preordered this. Crap.

The game has supposedly been leaked so be careful of spoilers. Not that I think it would happen here but definitely other places.

Going to play it for sure, not day one, multiplayer of no interest.

The first Halo is my most cherished game ever, I think, certainly based on the number of times I've completed it. Two was just... bad, and I didn't even complete it. Three was okay, but nothing exciting. I haven't played ODST, although I meant to get to it. Reach, however, totally re-ignited my love for the original, and it's my favorite shooter of this generation.

I was on the fence about this new one, but the marketing (of all things) is starting to bring me around.

Obviously I don't want any story spoilers but has there been any report from those playing the leak on how good the game is in general? Did 343 studios do a good job or not?

I dont know to be honest. I saw a post on kotaku that it was "out in the wild" and I have avoided pretty much anything that says halo. I usually kind of do a blackout of sorts on coverage on games I like so I can experience it all with no bias.

A few of the developer announcements mentioned plot elements like Cortana's growing rampancy. As a Marathon fan from back in my college days, when we did all our gaming with Macs, I've been looking forward to this for a long time. Maybe it's because Durandal was such a great AI personality, despite his desire to become God.

Wow. I remember when Halo was announced at the Mac World Expo. That's spooky.

Done by Fincher!

Bravo.

Halo trailers beyond the first one have always been really good. Someone in marketing really knows what they're doing.

Anyone watching the halo 4: Forward unto Dawn webseries? The production value is great! Up to episode 3 and it is really good!

So pumped for this. Playing through ODST now (the only Halo game I hadn't played) to whet my appetite. I think I'll also pick up Halo anniversary and try to play through that before 4 comes out.

I'm loving Forward Unto Dawn. Can't wait for part 4!

I got caught up with FUD yesterday and it is surprisingly good! I am a little bummed that IMDB kinda spoils the entire series.
