Diablo III Catch-All 2.0

I've been solo and have long ago reached my level of incompetence. Brief trips to public games was just a bit too wild and impersonal. So if you don't mind a newbie coop player I am willing to play my existing gimps or even start anew. I am a Gamer with Retirement (yep Oldgoat is accurate name) and have open playing time (west coast time zone). My existing characters are Monk 60 (8) in Inferno, begin Act 3; Witch Doctor 60 (7) Inferno, end Act 2; Demon Hunter 60 (1) Inferno Act 1; Wizzard 44 Nightmare Act 2 and Barbarian 35 Nightmare Act 1. Don't let the level 60's fool you into thinking I know what I am doing...I run away a lot and die more often than that. Using only gear I have personally found so probably not the best. You can either email me [email protected] or find me when I am on Olegoat 1910. Currently solo Inferno "Does not Bode well"

Be happy to play with you.. coincidentally, I have a Monk at 60(8) and a WD at 60(11 or 12). Monk can't quite do act 3, WD is pushing slowly through it. Both can farm Act 2 pretty easily. I'm hoping Monster Level means I can up Act 2 a bit so its somewhere in between current act 2 and act 3 inferno.

That is exactly what it should do. Plus, it should go back to diablo's roots where if an area is too difficult, you can got revisit an area you liked and play it as difficult as you want it to be so that you can out level the part you are struggling with.

Yeah, it's a very good change. When you turn on MP to anything above zero, all Inferno acts start dropping the same loot, so... yay.

I have a general sense that, if you're up to A3 now, you should have no trouble finishing the game on MP0. This is a good change, and it's something the game should probably always have had.

It appears that patch 1.0.5 will release tomorrow.

Here's an article about the Infernal Machine.

Suhweeet! Time to dust off my DH and try some Inferno A1 with tougher monsters.

Nice.. something definitely patching.. hope to be on later this afternoon. What do you think Monster Power 5 Act II = MP 0 Act 3?

I'd think that going back to an area where you can handle MP10 without it taking an hour to kill something makes sense.

I wonder how long it will take for the first MP 10 complete run to happen. I wonder if there are just going to be some spots where you just cannot progress at MP 10? Will it happen before inferno difficulty? I can think Belial would be really tough for players at MP 10.

I am think the witch doctor is going to be the most survivable class. Does anyone have any statistics on hardcore class breakdowns?

I think inferno MP10 will only be used to get the keys for the infernal machine. Moster health is 3400% in inferno but it's only 400% on hell. I think an MP10 hell run will be fairly easy to down. Inferno might be impossible unless the boss health is handled differently.

I can't wait to try out this new patch. My inferno Witchdoctor had only started to poke his fetish into Act 3, so I doubt I'll be able to succeed in MP1/Act 1. Still, I should be able to finish inferno and start grinding out better gear. Also, now leveling my Alts through normal/nightmare won't feel as dull.

I'm glad to see that they are continuing to improve this game.

Patch taking too long. I need to click things.

Every drop being level 60+ is real nice. Also, first chest I opened drop plans. They were sh*tty plans but only the second I've had drop for me.

My gear still kind of sucks so hopefully the better drops can help me fix that.

I definitely need to redo my lvl 60 Barb. I think I relied on my War Cry-Impunity skill to much.

Wow, well I underestimated MP... I had Act 2 Inferno on pretty easy farm.. no more than 2-3 deaths on a full run. Act 3 was giving me problems though.. but I figure.. how much can MP be? So I cranked it to Act 2 to MP4 and was pretty much taken apart by the normals... forget about elites... just way too many HPs. As a WD using zombie dogs, once those got killed I just didn't have enough firepower to kill baddies. Kept lowering it.. at MP2 non-elites were fine, but elites were kicking my arse.. esp the illusionist one I had.. couldn't get the adds down fast enough. Finally settled on MP1. Seems about right. Normals were getting mowed down, but elites esp ones with suffix combos that always give me problems (vortex + molten), I was able to get down with some smart play, just like I was "pre-farm". I still think Act 2 MP2 is doable, and maybe I just got a bad elite to start. May give it another shot. Will also try act 1 MP2 or 3 to start.

I managed to get the Act 2 inferno machine key, and while I didn't upgrade anything gold and loot drops were pretty still pretty plentiful. The miniboss that dropped the key didn't seem any harder than any other elite at that level and unloaded 4 yellows + the key.

I ran about half of Act I on MP2. I managed to get the Act I infernal key, a new smith plan, and 2 legendaries.

Two thumbs up to 1.05!

At the same time I was running MP1 on Act 2 with 400%+ Magic Find... Nothing :/

This game hates you Mex, it's telling you to play more TF2.

Just wanted to pop in and say that starting a new Witch Doctor on mp 10 was pretty awesome last night. It definitely grew my interest back into d3.

Unfortunately, it is not enough to sate my lust for GW2.

I did a quick run with my Wizard, and MP2 seems to be about as high as I can go in Inferno A3 and be successful. MP1 feels just about right.

There's quite a gear wall in store for anybody hoping to play Inferno at the higher MP levels, but the influx of better items to the AH as they trickle down from the high end farmers should mitigate that over time.

It's kinda interesting, a few times now they've done things with patches that largely obsolete huge chunks of old gear. Rings and amulets especially - old trifecta ones, even perfect rolls, are going to be worth a fraction of their (very high) old values very quickly since these can roll higher ilvls now.

A cynical person might conclude that they're intentionally causing mudflation to encourage more use of the AH.

Loving the new patch. Lots of loot, more loot is useful, and it's worthwhile doing acts 1 and 2 now. In a few hours last night I got 4 inventories full of rares, 3 keys for the Infernal Machine and a ridiculous amulet drop that increased my DPS by 19.5k (I put it on the AH for 1 billion just to see if it would sell).

I also like the changes to DH though I was wary of them before the patch hit. Strafe seems viable, dabbling in pets is fun and I feel like offense versus defense is a more interesting trade off now.

I'm a lurker on this forum and I haven't played with any of you guys but I'm setting up a group to regularly run ubers on MP4+. The idea would be to have people farm up infernal machines on their own, then group and get loot for 4 people off of one machine (a whole group can enter the portal created by just one person). Are there active players on here that would be up for that?

It's the only explanation that makes sense. I'll fix this problem tonight u_u

My current sweet spot seems to be Act 1 MP2 and Act 2 MP1. Tried going +1 on both of those and really couldn't get a good rhythm. Still haven't found any upgrades, but enjoying the farming.

Wow it does look like they did some really nice changes to the demon hunter. I look forward to my turret using, companion summoning, arrow slinger.

edit: too many games; not enough me to go around; especially with rehearsals starting up

I'd be interested in getting a group together to do MP4 or MP5 runs. Just based on the table that seems like it would be the sweet spot for a group.

I'm down for it. I have a Thorns WD with enough protection stats to make for a pretty decent tank. MP1's been a breeze so far.

Does it scale even further with more players? ie. MP4 with 4 players is a lot harder than MP4 solo or does MP trump multiplayer scaling?

I assume there's still a health modifier that increases their health by more than the 457% for MP4 just like normal group play. They took out the group damage modifier awhile ago though so it should be the same.

What's the most efficient way of getting five NV stacks in act 2 before farming the key warden in the oasis? I've never farmed act 2 so I don't know the normal runs.

I've been going to the area before Zoltan Kulle (last quest of The Black Soulstone works for that).

If you don't like the Terminus for Zoltun Kulle, you can minimize by hitting Road to Alcanus waypoint, go into the city.. there is always 1, sometimes 2 elites there, and you don't have to go past the first part of the city (where you free the prisoners in the story mode). Then I hit the Sewers of Caldeum (the 2nd WP) and there is alsmost always 2 elites in there. At that point you should have 3 or 4 and you can hop into the terminus to get the last few stacks vs. running through those long maps. Of course if you are simply loot farming, there's no reason to not do the Terminus... For all 3 portals I think there are at least 8 or 9 elite packs (maybe more).

I think that at Paragon level 10 they should just open the maps up with indicators where the elites are... there's no more mystery anymore, and makes finding things a lot easier. With NV, its not like I'm goign to reset the game if I'm fully stacked just because the map doesn't look right.. just saves me some time!

I thought they'd gotten rid of enemy scaling in groups though? Or was that just damage output and not health?
