Enjoy the hospital stay. At least you're not a wimp like Cartoonin; He's only wounded, but is going to take longer to get back to duty.
I just noticed that Wandering Taoist didn't actually go on the first mission. I thought for sure that I had him in the save as being on the squad. I also noticed that Brizahd has a different helmet then the one I assigned him........
SQUADDIE BRIZAHD, DID YOU DISREGARD MY ORDERS BY GRABBING EQUIPMENT OFF LIMITS TO YOU, AND BY REASSIGNING PERSONNEL ON THIS MISSION! YOU BETTER HAVE A GOOD EXPLANATION, SOLDIER, OR I'LL BUST YOU BACK TO ROOKIE FOR THIS!
;)
I did change the helmet... it allows for more peripheral vision. Actually I just wanted to make sure I was a girl. I also thought it was Taoist that went on the mission though. All I remember was 2 in white and 1 each in yellow and red. The groundpounders all look the same. With all do respect, regardless of the change it was obviously the right choice since it was a success... just saying.
Also I'll d/l that bandicam, sounds pretty cool. 10 minutes should be more than enough time for Prozac to kill everything.
Shouldn't the rookies wear red? Aka redshirts?

Ooooo, I like this idea! I will definitely be using that in my playthrough.

I have red for assault and heavies, green for support and yellow for snipers. I leave rookies in their default uniforms.
At the moment my two favourite units are Tom "Tomahawk" McAwesome and a sniper who's nickname is "Ironsight".
I prefer my medics to wear red.
So.. Brizahd got me 6 kills? Damn, I think I work better under his command
Okay so I just want to go ahead and get it out of the way that I haven't played much. Now before you worry, no I didn't get everyone killed. I just didn't take any screenshots... I thought you could rewatch completed missions. I took notes and intended to take screenshots to go with said notes.
Anyway to sum it up Prozac killed everything. The rest of the group got to at least shoot their guns...
Operation Broken Rain, Cairo Egypt.
We arrive on the outskirts of several buildings, with no idea where the hostile forces are. One two story building on our left looks like it would be a good vantage point. Prozac dashes up the ladder and I'll be damned if 2 of the buggers are not in the upstairs room. The rest of the group fans out around the building to cover the sides in case the try and run.
One of the aliens takes a shot at Prozac and blows out the window and the wall he is behind. The other jumps out the window nearest them and takes cover behind the opposite wall. No one down below can see, so Prozac is on his own. No problem Prozac tosses a frag grenade and takes them both out! 2 kills for Prozac.
Prozac moves to a corner and goes into overwatch as the rest of the group moves to check out a sound heard in one of the other buildings. Before they can get to it we encounter some aliens behind a truck. Brandt, Brizahd and Toaist trade shots from behind cover with them and they ignore Prozac on the rooftop to their own demise. Prozac is able to scoot closer and get flanking shots on them. 2 more down. The rest of the group continues moving toward the building where the strange sound was heard.
Brandt and Brizahd rush inside and take cover! Leaving Toaist outside in overwatch. Nothing, the room is empty. In another part of the building movement is seen by Prozac. 2 aliens are seen moving past a window. The rest of the group gleefully moves through the room toward them. Gleefull that they to might share in the bounty of killing. Suicidally the aliens bust out of the building out into the open and take pot shots at the group inside.
Chuckling on the roof Prozac launches a rocket killing them both in the blast. 2 more dead. Mission over...
Yeah, cartoonin is a f*cking p*ssy.
Hope you can back that up sister.

Girl fight! Girl fight!
:p
I'd like s spot in the X-Com reserves. No first names seem to go with Higgledy so I'll say Zeek of the top of my head. I'd like to be a heavy but I'm not really fussy :).

True. 'Destroyer of worlds' would make a great nickname.

The men and I have been put on alert and we are to prepare our gear for a sortie. No one knows yet what to expect.

We're being sent out to a possible shot down alien craft. This will be the first time anyone in XCOM has done and we're tense. Need to find a way to relax.

We have arrived to the outskirts of where we have detected the alien craft to have crash landed after a successful sortie by our Interceptors.
Response Team:
Rookie Elimu Edwin, commanding
Corporal Prozac Fluoxetine, Heavy weapons
Rookie Dennis D-Man
Rookie Vincent Vega
We make our rapid exit of the skyranger covering our flanks for the xenos have had plenty of time to setup a perimeter. God knows what lies ahead for us. Some of us are shaking our rifles creating noise so we wrap what we can with rubber and foam so as not to give away our position.
We immediately encounter four of the little ones the others have started to call Sectoids and they scurry about with a sound that is often worse than nails on the chalk board. I can feel the goose bumps through my armor padding.
Corporal Prozac is able to down one of the Sectoid things without much of an effort. I moved up and positioned myself within range of two of the buggers and dispatch one of the other Sectoids trying to sneak around our right flank. Rookie Vega takes up position next to me and takes out the third one. Rookie Danny spots one moving up onto our position from 1 o'clock and misses his shots. I'll have to spend more time with him at the range practicing.
After dispatching all the perimeter guards we find the craft in all it's burning and crunkled glory. Most aircraft would have been piles of metal strewn everywhere, but this was mostly intact. It was then we attempted to breach the aircraft an encountered something that can only be described as inspiring. The doctor says its a being of pure energy. I'm not sure what to call it but I hoped it would at least be hurt by our bullets.
The creature was imposing and looks like it could easily stand toe-to-toe with anyone in our barracks. Before we could even react and shoot it, Dr. Shen warned us to avoid damaging this giant green tube which he thinks is the primary power source of the craft. He fears for our safety should it be breached and cause an explosive reaction. I immediately relayed my orders and back away from the hatch of the craft as the power source is in my direct line of fire.
Rookie Vega moved up to flanking position and put some rounds into it confirming that we could harm this thing. Emboldened, Cpl. Prozac doesn't even bother to mount his M60 with bipod on the rock right next to him. He just shoots from the hip at what I thought would be an impossible shot.
He felled the thing with one burst. I've never seen a human wield a weapon as heavy as a full sized M60 with such precision and efficiency. That man is a cold killing machine and I am really glad he is human.
After returning to base and filing a report with the commander, three of us have been promoted based on our exemplary performance in the last sortie. Cpl. Prozac is now the senior ranking officer in our barracks with the rank of Sergeant.
I too have been promoted but to Squaddie and have been recommended as the first dedicated sniper in the barracks. My time as a designated marksman in the Russian Armed Forces should be invaluable because as far as I can tell, XCOM doesn't field dedicated two man sniper-scout teams like the US Armed forces do. I will have to take some time and head to the base range and practice with the bolt action rifle they have issues me as all my experience with a semi-automatic SVD.
Lastly, Rookie Vega was also promoted to Squaddie and has been designated the squad medic. From our first encounters, we're going to need all the help we can get.
Day by day, we're building unit cohesion. We're getting better and soon, we will have these ублюдки crawling back where they came from.
Oh, I have to remember to file my helmet cam with command to review the footage.
When do we earn the right to take the helmet off? I'll shoot through hte specs for an authentic Prozac
I'm gonna kill so many sectoids!
I'm not heavy, I'm just big-boned!
"Caught up in the moment, the CO forgot burning cars explode. You know that. Sgt Prozac panicks for his CO, and fires on Quintin, missing."
Story of my f*cking life!! He didn't panic, he just wants to kill me.
Videos to come later. On that point, anyone know any video compression software that just works? VirtualDub is a serious pain, and I don't have the time to fiddle with it.
If we can choose our country of origin, can you make me Russian?
I think that it's a missed opportunity that your in game name isn't "Ivan Slackov."
"Quintin disobeys orders hoping to get a clean shot. More training might be in order, as he misses."
"Quintin tries unsuccessfully to blind toss a grenade, destroying the truck."
"Rookie Quintin gets a better angle for a shot, but still comes up empty."
"Rookie Stone takes yet another chance shot, another miss."
Geez, if Quintin's going to be a heavy someone please give the man a SCOPE.
Playing heavy is all about the rocket launcher. u_u

I was trying to take out Quintin for the good of the team.
Your face is like a sectoid's ass, Prozac!
