2012 MLB Season Discussion: Off-Season

Do they offer a MLB tv quad mode for tv viewers where you would get the normal TBS feed in one corner?

If not they are missing a complete gold mine.

For us modern add people it makes the experience that much more complete. Commentators are shooting the sh*t the pitcher is taking his sweet time and you have 1-2 shots of close ups of the fans. For the Oakland games it was especially great because they are crazy/intense fans. Just saw a close up of 2 Baltimore fans and you could just see the distress all over their faces.

edit: is that whistle sound after strike outs played in the stadium? if so f*ck I hate the yankees.

Yes; anyone in the NYC metro area will recognize it immediately as the theme jingle for PC Richard & Son (an electronics chain around here). Yes, the Yankees have sponsored strike outs.

Plenty of other reasons to hate them.

Er... Go Tigers now I guess?

Lookin' for a single to start the game with a cycle against Wainwright. Certainly didn't see that coming. Go Nats!

That's a clown post, bro.

Eh?

Wainwright's breaking stuff is so nasty. Shocked they've hit the ball this solidly against him. 6-0 now with three homers, two doubles, a triple, and a single.

Just kidding with you.

Bryce Harper trademarks ‘That’s a clown question, bro’

Yeah, Waino didn't have it, and they paid big time. That's gonna be a tall order to comeback against Gio.

Oof. Well, he's younger than "No Rain" by Blind Melon. I guess that excuses him to do and say some dumb sh*t from time to time.

Good inning. Deficit down to 3 runs--same deficit in World Series Game 6... #STLCards #Believe

EJax to face the top of the order? Yes, please!

Man, they really let Jackson off the hook by getting just one run. But a HR from Descalso makes it 6-5.

And someone needs to tell the Nat fans that Joyce is not behind the plate tonight, so every outside pitch is not going to be called a strike.

Whew. Nats are going to need all 6 of those runs, and maybe 1 more just to be safe.

Love their enthusiasm, but think these Nats fans would boo a called ball that sailed to the backstop

The crowd is singing A-Ha's "Take On Me"... they deserve to win.

How 'bout them Yankees!!! Woo hoo!! Bring on Detroit!!

Cards have Beltran, Holliday, and Craig due up. As Mike shannon would say, ol' Abner has done it again.

Hm, Craig struck out.

1 out left. Tying run at the plate. Drama.

Are you serious?!

7-up.

Aaaannd make that 9-7 St. Louis. What the hell just happened?

Can't believe they didn't take Storen out after the back-to-back walks loaded the bases. Clearly he didn't have it.

Ugh...That was horrible to watch. Here's hoping for some miraculous comeback in the bottom of the 9th

EDIT: Oh man, looks like the Nats batters are just swinging at everything. 2 down.

DOUBLE EDIT: Welp, that was disappointing.

Sickening.

Sixth straight elimination game victory, and largest comeback in an elimination game ever.

Cardiac Cards!

The Cardinals win the Jason Voorhies award of MLB...You just can't kill em...

Just wanted to get on record saying that I'm specifically pulling for the Reds and Nationals, specifically against the Tigers, Yankees, and Cardinals, in those orders. I don't feel anything in particular about the A's, Giants, or Orioles.

Annnnd I'm out. Between the White Sox and these two, it seems my support is an open invitation to collapse. NBA time.

WASHINGTON -- Champagne was in hand. White tarpaulin served as protection over the walls. But Chris Carpenter refused to let the celebration began.

The veteran Cardinals pitcher instructed his teammates to pause, insisted they wait until ninth-inning heroes Daniel Descalso and Pete Kozma could wrap up separate on-field interviews. The middle infielders eventually escaped to the clubhouse and ducked into the middle of a circle that had formed in their absence.

Carpenter handed Kozma a bottle of champagne, and before insisting that the rookie pop the first cork, the veteran right-hander had one thing he first needed to say.

"I told you that when we came back," Carpenter began, "that's it's going to be the most epic [comeback] ever."

Epic indeed!

pulling for everyone but the Yanks really now lol.

Honestly wouldn't mind seeing any of the other teams win if we see the same close intense baseball.

Hey... The Yankees have enough fans (and fickle fake ones littered the four corners of the world) that they don't need any band wagoners.

Of the 3 other teams left its conflicting. St.Louis is the best underdog story but have won 2 recently. Giants won recently and are the bay rivals to Oakland. Detroit just beat Oakland but havent won since 84 and Detroit could use a win besides the Red Wings being so good for so long.
