NFL 2012 Week 5 Thread

MNF!!! JETS VS TEXANS! and the Packers in every other commercial!

Watt looked great and I don't think its that much of a knock on the Texans that the game was tight. Jets are a wounded animal playing some desperate football.

No Tebow, no miracle.

EDIT: Watt!

lol

"you cant try and throw it over my head!"

Don't tell Sanchez what to do Watt!! its not like your already a better player then him.

Way closer than I had hoped, but I'll take the win. Now I just have to hope Cushing isn't out next week.

Was anyone surprised that Watt batted one final ball there? Dude's just hurtin' feelings at this point.

Who is going to be the new head coach for the Jets next year?

Tebow?

I was and I think J.J was also. Problem is we were both assuming Sanchez was going to figure out throwing the ball around Watt = blocks/tips.

No clue but who's going to be their QB? Sanchez will be lucky to backup a team next year. Under 50% and hes got 6tds and 6ints yikes.

Cassel is in the same boat. He is looking horrible this year. I hope they let him play out the rest of the season though, seeing as how he is a division rival to my team,

He'll go to the skins... for too much money =(

I'm already depressed about the possibility of JJ Watt getting a Mario Williams-esque deal somewhere else when his contract expires (years from now). It seems like we have a really good thing going here on D, though, so hopefully that makes guys want to stay.

Sequel to the facebook QB thing:

The Romo bit about Vick and the dog had me burst out laughing.

That thing is a work of art.

RG3 and Stafford were the parts that really clicked with me. So well done from top to bottom though.

Yeah the Stafford retweet...

Funny again! The RG3 part was hilarious and awful at the same time.

Yup. That's why the Titans wear Oilers unis on throwback days. Which incites murderous anger in Houston every time.

That's why it baffles me that Cleveland hated Art Modell so much. The guy practically begged Cleveland to build him a new stadium, and they wouldn't, so he moved, but left the history of the Browns behind, so if they ever got a team again (which they did) they could continue with their history, uniforms and team name intact.

Sir, I point you to the case of the city of Seatle v. A.McClendon, C.Bennet et al.
He still took the f*cking team.

Cushing is out for the year. Ouch.

I was out of town, and couldn't comment after Sunday's game, but did the Patriots offense during that game represent the evolution of the game (for the NFL)? I've seen bits and pieces of their games up until this past weekend, but I do not remember them running at such a high tempo (maybe they did at the end of the Buffalo game?). I'll be curious to see what other defenses are able to do once they've had a chance to plan for it. Will we see more "injuries" on the defense to help get substitutions in?

Yeah, super sh*tty. As I understand it, he's kind of the leader on D this year. Still, we have a ton of talent on D. Whitney Mercillus, this may be your moment.

As far as I know that break-neck speed was a new test they gave themselves. Obviously, any team wants to be able to get the ball snapped quickly to limit substitutions, but they were taking some tips from a college coach and trying one-word play calls to increase the tempo. It worked pretty well, I guess.

Indy ran a similar system before. I don't remember the name but they had one offensive package the could run a wide array of plays on the spot. That way Manning could adjust the play at the line and not let the defense substitute.

Here's a good article I found on the Patriots' system: http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/20...

Panthers center Ryan Kalil goes down for the season. Foot injury. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

So, Tuesday... new thread yet?

Haha, yeah. In laws in town, doing a lot of nothing this week. Lose track of days when they're all the same at the beach.

But even worse then... new thread?
