I love RPS!

Heh, most excellent.

We travelled to Aurora Glade Borderlands, and I explained a little bit about what I’d learned.

> Look out for marauding packs of enemy players. They roam around the map like an aggressive hen party. Except it isn’t a kiss they want.
> Be prepared to spend a lot of silver repairing your armour, or be prepared to be running around in your underwear like someone who just ran into an aggressive hen party.
> Never underestimate wolves. Don’t let a “chain-howl” happen. You’ll know it when you experience it. It’s not a porn thing.
> Don’t think you can’t repeatedly die from falling off cliffs like a f*cking idiot.
> If you see a big bunch of friendly players, tag along with them to try to share in some of their glory – none of them will notice that you haven’t managed to land a hit on anything.
> Grab supplies whenever you can, and run around not knowing what to do with them, until you find something you can interact with that uses up the supply and then you can say “I USED SUPPLIES ON A THING!” and then go and get more supplies.
> Don’t get bold and think you can do things that you can’t do. Let me explain what I mean. Sometimes, in a big battle, things will be going okay. As a Necro, you might be standing back, laying down marks and curses, and helping the whole gang out. At some point, you WILL be tempted to dash forward and finish someone off with a melee attack. You will feel that urge rising within you. You have to resist that urge. Because when you dash forward into the pack like an idiot, you will die like an idiot.

Wolves are assholes, that's why I actually learned to use my bomb kit.
Cliffs are also assholes.

At what level can I start running dungons with the guild? I see people looking and would like to participate.

I ask this because I hope to focus on a character to bring it up to the level to participate with you all on stuff before I go all altitis (which I never had in WoW or WAR). I find the professions are put together in well thought out and interesting ways, and I want to try a one or two more once I can do more of the group stuff.

First dungeon can be run at level 30. Then it's a new one every 10 levels, until you get into your 70s and they unlock more frequently.

Explorable mode of the first dungeon is level 35, too. I don't think you have to do story mode (level 30) in order to do exploratory mode. But it makes sense to do story mode for the loot and story.

The 1st person entering the dungeon gets to choose story or explore but to have the explore choice, you have to have finished story.

Hey gang, need to go back and read the thread; but I'm trying to do GW2 spoiler free...I'm not looking at guides, I'm not reading up on stuff...I'm not min/maxing...I'm totally not playing it like a power raider. I'm just a big ol goofy noob, falling off cliffs, jumping off ice sculptures, and running into melee where I don't belong. I spend an extraordinary amount of time as an icon on the map, is my point.

So, I'm hoping this is the right thread; but if you see Torwynd, Brunhilda, Peecaboo or Zinc in guild chat...that's me; trying to decide which character I like best.

I was able to add the funds back to the guild bank that i had borrowed, plus an extra gold. So we should be back where we were before. Thanks for your patience!

The Green & Better section of the bank is full, I think we might be better off just organizing by item type instead of rarity level, and not putting blue weapons/armor in at all (or allow them with a standing rule that if/when we run out of space they're the first to go).

If I read your post correctly, I agree, we should start periodically merching the greens. There is no reason at all to put any blues/whites in the bank.

If we get rid of the blue weapons/armor, we'll have ~80 more spots for greens & better, so we wouldn't need to start getting rid of any greens yet. When it does get to that point, any money from the sale of items from the guild bank should be put back into the guild bank (this should also happen for the initial blue purge). There were also some random crafting mats in the restricted part of the bank. If you take an item out of the bank to salvage for it's rune, don't worry about putting back the materials you also get from it.

Hahahaha! Good luck with that *sigh*

I don't think a decision like that should really be made until you've unlocked all trait tiers and hit 80 with each. Once I reached that level, I was finally able to set up my warrior how I wanted to, and it made a difference in how much I enjoyed him (having shouts or banners able to provide healing added a lot of survivability, but required 30 points in the tactics tree).

I don't know about playing every character to 80 before you decide if you like it or not. but, I think that you should at least gut it out to 30 with a profession so you at least have all of the skill slots opened up.

It would probably be better to go until 60, when you can open up the final tier of the traits. I found that they made quite a difference.

Edit - this is to pick favorite, not decide whether you like it or not. I agree that 30 is good for that.

Or just pick mesmer, Its the best class in the game.

Man I haven't touched the game in weeks, which sucks because I really did enjoy exploring. My computer setup just isn't really optimal for sitting down to play vidya games anymore.

Bumped into Cobble in Diessa Plateau with my Engy and I can back that up. We ran around a few minutes before my connection flaked out and he was wasting fools spectacularly.

The current cluttered state of the guild bank is making it effectively worthless. I think we need an officer to go through and vendor most of what's in there. Fine (blue) and lower quality items are stupidly common, and not really worth keeping in the bank. I'd suggest we only deposit Rare level 80 items and Masterwork or better items for the 1-79 range. I've ended up vendoring some fairly nice stuff because there's no room with all the blue +Healing gear clogging the stash.

Everyone should feel free to sell any blue items clogging up the bank and deposit the money. Anyone should be able to add things to the stash, you only need to be an officer to take things out. I think green items in the 1-79 range are fine, they'll still be useful for alts, and a lot of people haven't hit 80 with any character yet due to rampant alt-itis. When the bank is overflowing with green items then we could make that switch, but it's a bit early for that yet.

So are said blues and greens in the bank there for anyone?

Heretk wrote:

Yup.... the concept is that you should throw in anything extra that looks like it would help fellow guildies, and take anything that you need.

Heretk wrote:

Yes. The only part of the bank that's currently off limits is the money stored in the stash. Any items in the stash are also up for grabs, but you'll have to have an officer take them out and mail them to you, as there was no way to put restriction just on the money part, and we had a few misunderstandings that caused a bit of a panic. If you see anything you want, feel free to grab it or ask in guild chat if there's an officer on that can grab it for you if it's in the stash.

Heh, can we take out loans from the guild bank? ;P
(I'm itching for that 7th character slot)

My name is fang and I have a problem.

That was one of the misunderstandings ;P

For me, unless I can make immediate or very soon use of them, blues and greens are vendor trash or go on the TP if they're worth more there for orders.

That said, I do have my own private guild with a vault, so I can clog it up however I like.

Poor, poor Lost Soul ::cry::

Edit: Joke does not work you are actually not a lost soul (rank) on another server and just have your own personal guild.

I cleaned up the guild bank some, though the returns on the blue items was pretty low (22 silver and change) and reorganized the gear bank. I also sold a bunch of really low level items as those first 15 level items aren't really worth it.

I am not sure we need to keep crafting mats in the stash, just a thought. I am thinking the stash should be for the really really good items people may want to donate. (like exotics or Ectoplasm for example)

I didn't touch them though cept to combine a couple stacks (for some reason you cant do it in the GB interface, you have to put the items in your pack first)

I noticed the stuff is fairly higher level stuff. Are green items for lower level peeps welcome?

I hope so.... I've taken & added gear from my late teens & onward (level 40 now).

Yes, green items of all levels are welcome.
