NFL 2012 Week 5 Thread

Haha. Vick fumbles AGAIN.

EDIT: AND AGAIN!

I still can't believe that none of these people whose job it is to talk about football knows the difference between a reverse and a double reverse. I would what they would call it if a team actually ran a double reverse.

What happened to networks switching away from non-competitive games? The Packers are up by 18 and it doesn't look like the Colts have much chance of catching up. The only interesting part of the game is tallying the hits on Luck.

Well I think they only do that in the 4th quarter.

And it has to be 3-4 scores. The Colts are only down 11.

And they never switch away from the home region. Not sure how far you are from the Indiana state line, but you could be stuck with it.

RGIII just got utterly hammered and is being evaluated for a concussion.

I'm surprised Luck wasn't in the same situation on that penalty hit where he fumbled.

5 of 6 games within 8 points or less now, starting the 4th quarter in most. Love RedZone!

(This sounds gross) When do football owners start collecting Manning biological material so they can start cloning super QBs? Didn't I read once that the oldest Manning brother who had some type of injury/sickness and was not able to play higher level football was the best Qb out of all of them? Dang!

Also, Redskins season is over.

Looks like Baltimore is going to win 9-6. Glad I only have their defense in fantasy.

Archie Manning's wikipedia entry says that Cooper Manning was a WR in high school.

Colts lead by 1 with 6 minutes left and have the ball back again. This is why they don't cut away from games early in the third quarter. I hope we hold onto it for the win, but either way it has been a great game for me watching our young team not give up.

The PA Derby went a lot like I expected. Steelers offense actually moved the ball a bit better than I anticipated, but Vick's turnovers and being at home let Pittsburgh steal one out at the end.

Really didn't see the Dolphins winning. In my head I knew they were better than I thought, but hadn't internalized it yet. Before the season I'd have sworn they (and the Vikings) were in the bottom 5 teams in the league. Apparently not.

Browns made it interesting for a while, and my co-worker from Cleveland was loving it, but was not to be.

Falcons and Ravens both looked vulnerable but won on the road. Really hoping the Colts can come back after that last score and beat the Pack.

Andrew Luck is pretty smart. Just throw it to Reggie Wayne every time and you'll do alright.

There are certainly worse ways to go about things.

Reggie Wayne still has it. That TD was beautiful.

And once again, that's why they don't switch away from games.

Meh, I still would have preferred a switch to the Steelers game and then coming back to the last 5 or 10 minutes of the Packers' implosion.

A note to the Colts: less confetti on the field please.

We're used to buying it in bulk. Unfortunately, last year left us with bags and bags of surplus. We're now stuck trying to shoot off all of the extra.

That win will go a long way towards helping morale. After the humiliation of collapsing against the Glitter Kitties and then the bad news over the bye week, we really needed something to smile about.

Whew. TD 49ers. Let's get it going guys!

In all the years the Titans have been in Nashville, I've never seen them this bad. They suck in all areas. I'm ready to blow the team up and start over with a new team, new coaches and a healthy Jake Locker. I will honestly be surprised if they win another game this season.

Yeah. My mother-in-law pointed out how they really haven't done anything good since the Steelers towel-stomping incident. I think the curse of the towel has really done them in.

Aww dammit. Kaepernick fumble.

Loved the play though. Lined him up as a WR, and a toss sweep around to the left. Looked like he could have stopped to throw, or run. He ran and fumbled...

Maybe next time.

Quick, somebody get to Legion and start the suicide watch.

Woo. Catch and fumble turnover for the Bills. TD 49ers on the first play!

Big Kaepernick run to the 1. Gore punches it in. Think it's about over in SF.

Really anemic scoring afternoon all around the league. Watching RedZone really brings it home today.

It took a half, but wow, the bears are looking good now.

Finally an offensive TD in that game, first play of the 4th quarter.

Huh. Pete Carroll is pretty smart.

Sea just did an intentional safety to run time off the clock and give Carolina about 20-30 yards longer to drive.

Turns out the guy who handled Obama's debate prep is also the Panthers' QB coach.

There's something in the water in Charlotte. Like arsenic.

Whoops!

I haven't really watched any of the Vikings games so could a Vikings fan explain to me why they are good? I didn't think anything changed in the offseason outside of Peterson rehabbing. Did they change somebody on the coaching staff?
