Looks like the trailer leaked a bit early today for a Medal of Honor Warfighter. It seems to be EA's big shooter for fall of 2012. Release date of October 23.
It is developed fully by Danger Close this time using Frostbite 2 from Battlefield. DICE isn't doing the MP on this one like they did Medal of Honor in 2010.
Updated with official trailer link.
I can't believe they went forward with the title "Warfighter." It's like naming a cooking show "Foodcooker" or a repair show "Nailnailer."
I don't think generic has ever been a bad choice when it comes to selling something. That's kind of concerning when 'man shooting game' has become a consumable sold in a similar way to milk or bread.
At least warfighter is a real word for a soldier. That's one up on most games.

Oh, so then the multiplayer won't be a broken pile of sh*t. /axegrind

To be fair, from what I understand that MP was dropped in DICE's lap a mere 8 months prior to game release.
Not exactly giving them "Valve time" to get things right.
Hmmm, extremely crushed development schedules or rushing a game out to an arbitrary release date seem to be 'a thing' for EA.

Or a strategy wargame "Wargame"!
I'm surprised Ubisoft hasn't trademarked "Warfighter" due to ((Tom Clancy's) Ghost Recon:) Advanced Warfighter.

They might as well trademark "Advanced". As stated above, "warfighter" is an actually used military term.
Maybe Ubisoft has trademarked "advanced" and "warfighter" together, and can't be bothered with regular, pedestrian warfighters.
i dunno... this game has me feeling... meh.
wish someone would make a modern day version of red orchestra 2...
i'd get a woody just thinking about that one.
I keep seeing ads for this in front of youtube videos and it looks great. Am I alone in thinking so?
Really didn't like the last MoH game, first in this series of the series, I guess.
I can't even think of another game that allows you to fight as a Canadian soldier. The CoH expansion had the Royal Canadian Rifles regiment in it, if that counts.

already preordered...

Artillery, not Rifles, but yeah. Call of Duty 3 also had a Canadian campaign (4th Canadian (Armoured) Division).
Depending how much JTF-2 is in this game, consider my interest mildly mildly piqued.
Yeah, I am pretty much in the same boat. I love the Battlefield, TRIBES, Planetside games but the small corridor FPS games get old and repetitive quick.
Thinking I might pick this up on that GMG 25% off pre-order. Just can't decide. The fact that it looks like one of the steak rewards is a chopper gunner type of thing is the only thing that's prevented me from doing it already. That COD type stuff just isn't what I'm looking for in a shooter these days.
The first one had streak unlocks too. They never seemed overpowering like some of the CoD stuff. They were also broken down into 2 trees. One offensive that would give mortar, missile strike abilities and defensive which game UAV, ammo, armor buffs.
I wish I was confident it would look that good on consoles. I could not have been more disappointed with the look and feel of BF3 after seeing it on PC then playing on 360.
Cautiously optimistic on this one.
I don't know how far you'll be able to compare MOH (errr, 1?) and MOH:WF as the multiplayer is done by different developers. Have they said if they're following the same formula?
Apparently XBL Gold subscribers will be able to join the open beta tomorrow. I'm going to be away from my Xbox until Sunday, but I get Monday off so I should be able to put a solid chunk of time in at that point.
Really curious how it plays and looks. Visually it's really nice, as seen above, but the 360 version almost definitely won't look so good.
