MechWarrior: Online - Catch all

Someone made Win7 x64 drivers for the Steel Battalion controller. :O http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/780...

Beta key giveaway here. I think you just need to register at that site.

EDIT: Also these. But I bet they are gone by the time you read this.

I've spent a lot of time in the beta, considering that I absolutely don't have time for any new games... As the economy currently is, it's working, there's no reason not to play - so if you dropped out when they made it a lot harsher, you may want to look again.

Finally got my own Mech and got into the pilot XP progression. Hard to see how I wouldn't play this plenty, though they may need to vary the gameplay a bit down the line.

I know there has been discussion of a few more game modes and some more maps. I would like to see a conquest game type, something with multiple cap points because I think that would make the game a but more dynamic.

Of course there will be more mechs as well.

Just got done playing a bunch of games with seven other guys on voice chat, so much fun. Being able to work together, and have everybody have their role is great.

Aaand added everyone on the list as a friend. Added my own name to the list.

Hey! A list, I missed that. Will add everybody tonight

I'm having a blast in this beta. It's slow going, I didn't participate in any Founder's business, but I'm still enjoying the progression so far. I'll be adding everyone on the list as well, hope to see you guys online.

I was initially all "oh man, all I can afford is this Commando", but the way they reward spotting makes it cool. You're not only helping, but seriously compensated for running around, relaying coordinates for the heavies.

Best moment in the game so far: both arms (and guns) gone, I ran around knocking down enemies by ramming them. Must've been a nuisance to the enemy!

Okay, everybody is added to my list.

I will be up for a game tonight, so just let me know.

The NDA dropped today, so tell your friends, like you hadn't before

NDA has been lifted (via Twitter).

So I'm in the beta (duh).

I still love the gameplay. I'm finding that with all of the F2P games out there now (PS2, Tribes, etc.) this is the one I am enjoying the most.

After yesterday's patch (no patch notes were sent out, weird) they added new tabs on the home screen, including "Factions", though they aren't functional yet. I'm curious if there will be some sort of meta game associated with faction wins or something like that.

Edit: Tannhausered!

I don't think there is anything detailed yet for the Factions, other than that it is post launch stuff.

I would like to see them have the Faction stuff be really a clan-based organization structure. Something like a Steam group where I can add my friends, we can post announcements, get games scheduled and chat a bit. I know from a Battlemech lore perspective Factions have a very different meaning, but whatever.

I have been playing with a pretty consistent group (Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday nights) of 5-7 people. If anybody wants to join us, and the game is 1000 times better in a group, hit me up on Steam and I will invite you to the group.

Yes, commence with the specifics please!

I have been in the beta for about 8 months, there are a bunch of us from sask and alberta who play. I will add everyone on the list.

For those without a group, I was playing on the "unofficial" Teamspeak server, it went amazingly well.

I would highly suggest it to anybody playing alone, really adds a lot to the game when you work together.

I've been on for awhile as well if anyone is interested in grouping up with me as well.. My in-game name is ManOnABuffalo

The way mechs can run up and down hills as if everything was flat is really really weird. Especially when you see a Raven running in a circle that happens to have a hill in the way. They ZOOOOOM up the slope and ZOOOOOM down the other side without slowing down. Sure makes them a hard target!

I'm not interested as I don't particularly want to be dominated.

Well played.

Now that the Hawken alpha is closing, I need to get back into MWO. And the wife's working this weekend.

If anybody plans to play today and wants a noob along, post up a time. I'm pretty much a noob, so don't expect much

Played a few games with Mannish, they didn't go too terribly. We only got rolled once.

Got a bit tired of playing the snow map though.

Yep. That was a bit much. Have they released any new maps in the last month or so? Thought they were talking about some new ones coming soon, but those were the first games I'd played since before they put the economy in.

Can't decide what mech to buy first. I played a base Dragon before. Liked that, but think maybe I should learn a medium. Might just get a Hunchback. Can't decide on a HBK-4G or HBK-4H. Need to read up on the AC/10 vs AC/20 play styles.

ac/20 ammo is way too heavy.

I go with multiple ac/10s over ac/20.

You only get 10 shots with the AC/20 so unless you are a crack shot you will find yourself out of ammo pretty quick.
I like running 2 AC/2 for nice range and 3 med laser's, If you chain fire the AC's you can keep rocking most mech's.

Don't Hunchies only have that 1 hardpoint on the shoulder though?

I really dig the 2xAC/5s on my Dragon.

I also am not a fan of the AC/20, but that might only be because I miss too much. Even after using the AC/5 for quite awhile every miss on a 20 is huge.

Catapult with twin AC/20s can be a rude surprise. Make sure you can aim, but if you can, you can core an Atlas in 3 salvos. Also very satisfying to oneshot a zooming scoutmech.

Question: If you buy a mech and remove an attachment to inventory, can you put that on another mech you buy, or can it only be reequipped on that class or even specific mech?

Last patch i was running a catapult iwth 2 gause rifles. Less weight/more ammo/more powerful than the ac/20.

Not sure what they are now.

I sent out invites to everyone on the list a few minutes ago, so if you see a friends request from me, feel free to accept or ignore. Man this game is friggin addictive >_<

This vid has a long look at the game with a look at a lot of the mechs and upgrade systems. It made me wonder if Giant Bomb is going to do a Quick Look? That would be kind of cool. Seems kind of like a Vinny/Drew type of thing.

This game is all kinds of fun. Got my first mech unlocked this morning, been rolling with a Raven specced out for scouting and commando-destroying duties. Friend me up! StylezXP
