What are you playing this weekend?

Guild Wars 2, as usual. Looks like I'm becoming one of those guys.

Finished Dragon Age 2 at least, still have Prototype on the pile as a palate cleanser.

Diablo 3? FTL? Borderlands 2? Mutant Blobs Attack? P3P? I am drowning in quality games!

Job Hunt: God Oh God Oh God!, Medical Form Madness, and Battlefield 3.

Crysis 2 and a long-term multiplayer game of Titan Quest with some family.

So far: nearly completed Chapter III of Transformers: War for Cybertron last night. Man, these stages are long, but fun.

Also dabbling some more in Professor Layton & the Diabolical Box. After 17.5 hours, I've solved 99 puzzles (I think the story mode has 138, plus another 13 or so challenges afterwards). Totally forgot how time-intensive the Layton games are. Finally discovered all of the tea blends. The tea mini-activity is very tedious IMO.

Also blew another 3-4 hours on the GWJ server in Minecraft, constructing glorious worker housing. I need about 3,000,000 stone blocks. Anyone feel like donating, since manufacturing them is insanely time and resource intensive.

Gave track 4 (of 9? 10?) in F-1 Race (gameboy) another go. That game is sick-hard, and it pissed me off pretty badly last night. No wonder I didn't beat it 20 years ago.

I played Super Mario Galaxy 2 for most of last night and a little this morning, finally saw that credit roll. Great stuff, as usual. Some very frustrating points, though. I don't know if I'll get through the whole special world. If I don't have a star, it's because I got frustrated and quit. I don't really want to go back to get five excruciating stars to get to the next level.

No idea what I'll play now. I'm trying to burn through some Wii games ahead of the new console launch. Maybe Sin and Punishment: Star Successor, or Goldeneye 007 single player. Really need to get around to starting Darksiders 2 also.

Last night my wife and I got back to Mario Galaxy 2 after a long hiatus. I don't love the Galaxy series much, but I'm enjoying playing with her. Right now she's playing the Torchlight demo and if she likes it I'll grab the Humble Bundle and we'll do some dungeon crawling together. And I'm going to get some FTL in if I can. Still hoping for my first win.

I will be looking to help some fellow undead Warroirs take on Sen's Fortress in Dark Souls. It is time to tame that death trap. They will fear the Reaper [insert maniac laugh here].

Sen's Fortress was one of my my favorite areas of Dark Souls. It's when I finally started to feel like I had a good handle on the game. Also, the first time a boulder took out a lizard guy - priceless.

Meanwhile, I dabbled in 5 games yesterday:
Diablo 3 (Finished Act 2 Normal (Yes LTTP))
FTL (Unlocked the second Engi layout and got pretty far with it)
Borderlands 2 (Entered a code and ... um ... killed a few things)
Mutant Blobs Attack (3 Moon levels completed)
P3P (Made my second entry into Tartarus and fused my first persona (again LLTP)).

In "normal" society, I'd be considered strange for automatically reading that as "Link to the Past".

Big progress on Professor Layton & the Diabolical Box yesterday and today. I won't finish it this weekend, but I'm getting close

I also loved Sen's Fortress in Dark Souls. Sadly, I'm in a tedious though not hard bit right now, so I haven't played in weeks. I really, really need to finish.

This weekend I did the Magic pre-release tournament, which was awesome, and played a bunch of Burnout Revenge with my three year-old daughter. We have discovered that simply holding down the gas 100% of the time and doing nothing else can get you a good score in multiplayer Road Rage. In fact, she won three races in a row that way!

or, just watch this and stop beating your head against a brick wall:

And I find it amusing that you answered the LTTP thing considering your current losing battle with F-1 Race. I know I'm never gonna beat it. Is it really worth the headache for you to try and get through it?

Just that you are playing F-1 Race which crazy old.

Are you playing on an original Gameboy?

/me notes to null F-1 Race off the backloggery

EDIT: Actually, it's games like that which justify my decision to never prioritize games in the pile that are older than the previous generation of systems. Unless I'm having a massive nostalgia binge, of course.

My original brick Gameboy no longer works (along with the Atari 2600 Jr, one of only two systems I own that doesn't). I could plug my cart into my GBA flip-top, but then I'd have to play through the entire game in one sitting, which clearly isn't going to happen. So yeah, something with save states for between levels.

...now I find myself wondering if the 4 player cable would work on a GBA. I'll have to try digging it out of the boxes and boxes of cables and accessories.

I don't quite follow the connection... I actually enjoy F-1 Race, but it's just nutso-hard. One review mentioned that even having a perfect race isn't a guarantee of victory. The AI simply cheats. One of my earliest memories of that being blatantly obvious was the original F-Zero, when AI cars were able to take hairpin turns at top speed as if on rails. In F-1's case, the #1 car is just clearly faster than mine, and only slightly slower than me when I'm using nitrous.

Not willing to give up yet.

That longplay video was the first (and nearly only) one I found when I did a search

EDIT: Fixed an English failure.

This weekend is brainstorming a game with a friend, along with the game Dodge the inlaws. I'm getting pretty good at it.

Also: continuing on my path to get into Super Titan in Outwitters, more Summoner Wars and I'm going to try Lunar Silver Star Story Touch

Think I'm going to resume my game of Fall of Cybertron. I've also been spending a bit of time with Aliens: Extermination on the DS. Or Extinction. I can't keep track of these subtitles.

Though if I'm lucky I'll get some board game time in. I'd love to try some of my more neglected games.

I honestly don't know. I need to review Sword of the Stars II some more but...ugh...what a mess. Hopefully I can fit in some Torchlight II but I need to get caught up on some space game coverage, so likely Star Lords and maybe Aeon Command.

Wife's BDay weekend, so a surprise visit to our favorite nyc cocktail bar (Amor y Amargo).

I am working this weekend, though, which means I'll get plenty of LOTRO, Psychonauts, HL2:Ep1, and SPAZ. I'm trying this new thing where I only play a game for 30-45 minutes at a time. Especially when the pile is so big, it started to feel like I was playing a game in order to cross it off the list. This way I'm never quite aware how far into a game I am.

Hopefully a little Firefall on Saturday night, and Lord of Waterdeep/Cards Against Humanity with friends on Sunday

Borderlands 2! Again! Probably more Torchlight 2 as well.

And I need to clear some disk space for Dishonoured and Xcom next week so I'll probably see if I can get clear of some other random stuff I currently have installed.

...I should probably actually play Guild Wars 2 at some point as well since I went to the trouble of buying and installing it...

Well, it's looking like a Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father weekend for me. Toss in my slow plod through Dark Souls and and it should be an interesting weekend.

I'll indulge in the usual combination of Persona 3 Portable & Devil Survivor 2.

I also talked my way into being at the theater both Saturday and Sunday night. I'll be playing Improv Comedian on Sunday with a light risk of Saturday as well.

Probably still gonna be playing FIFA 13 a bit, but I also bought me some older PC games for real cheap. Going through Stronghold right now but got stuck on a mission and it seems that several other people have had problems with that same one, as it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to finish even on easy. I've moved on to the other campaign they have to offer. lol.

I'll find it incredibly telling if there isn't a single mention of Resident Evil 6 for the weekend.

My Torchlight I and II addiction continues unabated.

Yes, you've been demoted to merely "friends" - let's face it - Lily's going to be the main event

I'll be watching the kiddo while my wife goes out, so maybe some Metroid Prime 2 after he goes to bed.
