I think either of these is a bad decision, you guys are just fine the way you are.

Yeah... I'm with Mono. Stay away from all body modifications, and if you really feel you need to get alcohol involved you can try an Irish blend like Tullamore Dew and see how that goes.

I'm not a whiskey drinker, but Chivaz Regal isn't bad for a beginner. No doubt whiskey snobs are declaring a Jihad on me now, but I can live with that.

Congrats Bob, she looks great.

I think the main thing worrying me is lack of sleep.

The first 200 nights without sleep are the worst. After that you just kind of go numb all over.

Am I a bad parent if I hasten the numbness with some scotch?

As with many things in life it depends who is getting the scotch and in what quantity.

So scotch for me = yes, scotch for baby and mom = no. Got it. Unfortunately I dislike scotch and my wife loves it. This could be a problem.

Looks like it's time for you to grow some tits.

Liz agrees with you, by the way.

Teagan fell asleep in the bath and then Jenna transferred her to me and she slept in my arms for the next hour. When she woke up she looked confused, but could not stop smiling at me. Teagan is now 6months old!

It was suggested that I cross post this from the picture thread, so here it is:

You ever wondered what it would be like to turn your child's drawings into actual toys they can play with? NOW YOU CAN!!!

EDIT: Just took a closer look at her site, and noticed that she is currently not taking any more orders at the moment as she is working through her wait list.

Today my daughter (6mon) decided to share her soother with me. It is only recently she has started to use the soother, but today she pulled it out of her mouth looked at me smiling and stuck it in mine, the right way facing. She thought it was funny and did it 5 more times in a row.

My son is getting a grasp of the finer points of computer use.

As seen here he is yelling at the screen while bashing the keyboard.

I've got an old wireless keyboard for Stellan to use when he wants to "play Daddy" - ie hit the keyboard and yell.

Seeing as how that's my preferred method for repairing PCs, I can probably get him a job in a few years.

@ Bob congrats.

The best advice I can give to a new parent is trust/rely on your instincts. In this world very few people act without doing a Google search first, and there are tons of people on the internet who know what's best for your child. Don't let the internet be your child's parent, or the doctor or you and your wife's parents for that matter. That last one can be the worst. There are only two people that really know what works for your family. Don't let outsiders tell you otherwise.

I hope that doesn't sound harsh. It came from the softest place I have.

My wife took this video this weekend and well, it is great!

BEST sound in the world!

Four months old now. We just figured out how to make her laugh the other night and it was glorious. I have video on my phone, but I need to download and edit it before I can post here.

Soooo tiny (and cute)!

Why does it look like her legs are not between the straps and buckle?

That pic was before the discharge nurse came in and told us we were doing it all wrong. We now know how to tie her down properly.

You'll get a chance to meet her at PAX East. Can't wait for her to meet Leland.

Good. My little secret is that until my son was 2 days old, I had never changed a diaper. Ever. I had to ask the nurse for a little help as it was also his first poop. Yeah, that poop.

Well, our little one is now 1 day old. Anabelle Rain was born yesterday at 1:29am at home. My wife Sarah was a champ and did the birth naturally, sans any drugs or painkillers. We're all still figuring out how to be a family at the moment. I just managed to sneak away for a bit while they are sleeping. Anyway, here is the obligatory baby picture I am sure there will be more to come.

That is wonderful and she is beautiful! I'm looking forward to when we get to meet her. I hope you guys are up for a trip come December to the S&T as that would be fun.

Congrats Erik! She's gorgeous
