Anyone try out the Terror based suit yet?
No, but I'm looking forward to it. My first playthrough was pretty terror based, so I went stealth pacifist my second one, and I'll pick up the terror suit somewhere through the third. The game is totally different now that I'm not killing people.
By the way, the stealth suit? No sword, and no attack items. It's still possible to kill people (with indirect kills), but why ruin the streak? When you can't kill people some of the objectives become very different puzzles.
Speaking of which... There are at least two levels where you HAVE to kill people. Yet it still counts those kills against you for the bonus at the end of the level for not killing anyone. That seems kind of wrong, but I don't think there is any way around it.
I've been using the terror suit and it's pretty amazing. You can rack up a lot of additional points by terrorizing groups of guards (plus, it's pretty fun).

I am waiting with bated breath. This will be loaded onto my HDD the second it is available.
So torn about whether to get this now on Xbox or later on PC. Part of me says to save the MS points and get the PC version. The other part of me says that I can't think of anything to save the points for.
Definitely waiting for the PC version now. Xbox demo was great, but I really prefer my PC.

If you have the points why not use them? The game is good enough where I would double dip during a steam sale just to have it in more then one location.

Right. But I suspect I might wind up double dipping too, and at that point, why not wait? I don't know if there are any good XBLA games on the horizon that are worth waiting for. I never picked up Fez, but I'm really not convinced I'd love that one.

It sounds like you prefer playing on the PC. If that is the case, it never hurts to wait (well maybe a little). For me, it didn't matter and I liked the demo enough where it was an insta-purchase. It helps that I always get my points on sale too which makes it 20% cheaper.
Was having a bad night last night, and didn't really have access to my PC, so decided to buy Mark of the Ninja since my account is now unlocked. Got it bought, started the download, and halfway through, the wind storm going on knocked out the power. Power stayed out until about 2am.
Obviously someone does not want me playing this game.

That sucks. I didn't lose power but the storm kept me up for quite a while.
Just finished my first playthrough of this game. OMG so awesome. Definitely gonna go back and see if I can't finish off some of the achievements I missed the first time through.
PC (Steam) release announced as October 16.
And the best part...
Encouragingly, Klei seems very dedicated to doing this port up in proper fashion. Lead designer Nels Anderson told me that Klei’s currently tweaking mouse-and-keyboard controls until they’re just so, and he also noted that Games For Windows Live absolutely, positively won’t be involved in any way, shape, or form.
Whoops, I must've looked at the not-last page.
I sure don't visit RPS, though.
Why would he? If you're not a PC gamer, then you have no use for RPS, unless you really enjoy punny headlines and witty writing/alt text.
I will be getting this!
It's definitely the type of game I would like to see more of. Also, where the hell is Shadow Complex 2?!?!?!? Come on people, take my money!
Awesome quotes, Gravey.
Off topic, but it kind of reminds me of a U2 segment on 360 Minutes years ago. Bono was talking about the longevity of the band and reflecting on how cool it would have been if The Beatles had stayed together longer and kept producing albums into their middle age, etc. He was quick to follow up with something to the effect of, "Not that I'm trying to compare ourselves to The Beatles, we're barely worthy to kiss the hem of their robes."
A bit melodramatic, but still refreshing to hear artists that respect their popularity but are not caught up in the wave of their own success.
I'm loving doing the ghost achievement, it totally changes up the gameplay from the first time I played. I'm frustrated that there are a couple levels where it's IMPOSSIBLE not to kill someone for storyline reasons, but they still count that kill against you at the end of the level.
Edit: Also, because I was going for 'no kills, no alarms', I totally missed the lack of a sword until one frustrated moment when I realized I COULDN'T kill someone even if I wanted.

The ghost achievement is easiest to get on the second run-through, once you have the teleport ability.
I just read this is coming to PC, that is so cool! I do have a 360, but getting points just for this feels silly and you always have extra points left after purchasing that you can't use on anything else (decent). Here's hoping the PC (steam?) version has 360 controller support...

I'm sure it will. Has there been any ports from XBLA to PC that haven't?
The only reason I don't mind the points is because I always get them for 20% to 25% off from Buy.com or eBay. Besides that, they are just annoying.

The ghost achievement is easily gotten by going back to the first or second level (can't remember which one I did it on) and replaying it. I got Ghost, Mercy and Masterful all at the same time that way, without any fancy suits or anything like that.
Yup, same here, although I think I used the silent suit. I really liked the combination of the suit and the lack of visibility in new game+ to turn it into a new game entirely.
Huh. Says it's coming to Steam, but still not up for pre-order. Guess it will pop up tomorrow afternoon some time?
After finishing the first level, I'm enjoying myself quite a bit. I'm happy they brought it to Steam so swiftly.
