That is several shades of awesome.

Did you take that picture or did you find it somewhere?

I yoinked it from Wil Wheaton's tumblr feed; he had retumbled it from someone else.

Bah chances are if the know Monty Python they know Doctor Who.

PS edit:
Hmm both my posts so far started out with bah, maybe I'm cranky today.

Very cute series of reviews of this season by a four year old:

Whoa!

I really liked today's episode a lot.

Me too.

Spoiler:

The plot was secondary to the characters, but I seriously doubt that's the last we'll be seeing of that particular bad guy.

A very throw away ex-machina resolution, though.

Did anyone else shout "It's the Brigadier's daughter!" When she introduced herself?

It's interesting the Ponds have lived through 10 years of subjective time.

Spoiler:

I've not seen much classic Who, but I LOVED the Brigadier, so I totally teared up when I realized that's who she was. The problem of the cubes/ship was resolved a bit quickly, but yeah, wasn't the point. Character was put above plot this time, and it was glorious.

Spoiler:

So if my math is right, after last night's episode (The Power of Three) the Ponds still have a Wii in their living room in the 2018-2022 timeframe?

Spoiler:

I think you misunderstood - it's been ten years for them, running around time and space with the Doctor, but only a couple of years for their friends back on Earth. Episodes set on contemporary Earth are generally supposed to be taking place fairly close to the air date.

Spoiler:

I was thinking about this last night. They could see a friend one day, spend 6 months running about with the Doctor, and then see the same friend the following day. 6 months passed for Ponds, 24 hours fir the friend. Tricky. I hope that he set them up with a decent scheduling app.

Spoiler:

The thing is, lately it hasn't been like that at all. It's seemed like each of the episodes so far in Series 7 have been taking place about a year or so apart from the Ponds' point of view - the Doctor shows up, takes them someplace for a little bit, drops them back off at home, and then disappears for another year or so. It was even specifically stated in "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship" that ten months had passed since "Asylum of the Daleks".

It's become a running joke at this point that the Eleventh just can't get back to the place in Amy's timeline where he left off. There have been multiple occasions over the past few seasons where he shows back up, says "Hi, how have you been", and is surprised at how much time has passed for Amy and Rory. When Amy said it had been ten years, I actually took at at face value, since the Doctor keeps vanishing and reappearing later in her timestream.

She said it had been that long for them, but not for the Doctor and not for their friends & family.

I liked last night's episode for the most part

Spoiler:

up until the last ten minutes. That was no time to introduce a new alien race we have never heard of before. And why did the Shakti need human bodies if the cubes had scanned all of humanity? And just what was the purpose of the cube-mouthed interns? There was a lot to like in this episode--the mystery of the cubes, the Brig's daughter, the return of UNIT, the examination of the Ponds' life with/without the Doctor, but the parts that stuck out just seemed so unnecessary.

Ah. That makes sense. So essentially...

Spoiler:

In the three seasons of Eleven and the Ponds (call it three years for the sake of the argument), they've lived 10 years.

Wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey.

Am I the only one who thinks that the prevalence of iPhones can be compared to that of the cubes?

Pretty sure that was the point.

Anyone catch the snack all three were eating while sitting on the couch?

I was too busy looking at Amy.

Kate Stewart actually said it was "like iPads have dropped out of the sky".

Whew, luckily I'm safe with my android device.

As was I. Damn she's purdy.

I'm pretty sure it was the infamous Fish Fingers and Custard that the Doctor discovered the night he regenerated and met Amelia.

Oh yeah, the fish custard. Didn't he say he invented Yorkshire pudding based on it?
