Mrfl. I am annoyed that TL2 cannot do one of the following: remember my password, remember that I'm logged in, or log me in via Steam credentials. My password is a long randomly generated one stored in a vault, and having to copy and paste the damned thing to log in is annoying.

Ditto.

Great game, but the multiplayer account management part is a bit rough around the edges. I've also been attempting to import my Steam friends to my Runic account all day with no luck.

Where do you do this?

I apparently already have a Runic account but haven't been able to recover a password yet, or even figure out what my account name actually is.

I'm finding I have less and less patience for this kind of thing these days.

Went through General Grenn as an Outsider, and the I rolled up an Ember Mage. He's a lot of fun so far, and so is his Chakawary "Boom ChakaWaka".

I think I've seen this about four times now, and it's no big deal, but, it's Outlander.

Edit: After attempting to update it (again) about an hour ago, my friends list has finally been populated by Steam friends.

Sorry I hadn't thought to just post a link, here you go Hyetal.

thanks for the invite to the group Hyetal.

Done and done.

Invite please! Steam profile link is in my sig.

Does Torchlight 2 have controller support? I played the demo of Torchlight on Xbox Live and liked it better than keyboard and mouse control (though not enough to buy the game a second time). At the time people asked if the PC version would be patched with controller support. The devs said they weren't going to spend the time to patch TL1 but that they would put controller support in TL2; I haven't heard anything about it since though.

If I try the demo and get hooked can I unlock the full game and keep going with the same character? That's how the first game worked. That's also why the first game was tied to Steam and I know TL2 isn't….

No controller support, and I seem to recall the first one not being tied to steam, and the non-steam demo unlocking that way too.

Hit me up with a Steam group invite! Community name is Hemidal.

I thought lotion basketing was taken out early in the beta.

Oh no you don't. If everyone else has to do it, so do you. Link!

Sadly, I took care of him... Not in the way he usually likes it, but I took care of him nonetheless.

Can I get an invite to the group?

You most certainly can.

It's working for me now too.

Protip: If you've reached a juncture where you feel you have drastically wasted skill points, there is a way to respec. Instructions from here.

You can use the console to reset your skills.
The commands are "resetskills"
Enable console by changing the Console:0 variable to a 1, also change the debugtext variable, in your settings.txt file located in my games/runic games/torchlight 2/save
Press Ctrl+Shift+Numpad_0 to enable the console.

Torchlight 1 had a cheat flag on characters, meaning they couldnt use the stash if they were a cheater, TL2 doesn't appear to have this; i've been able to use the stash and go on multiplayer games after resetting my skills. Just in case, back up the save folder first.

Edit: DON'T TRY "RESETSTATS" It's broken, and sets your stat and skillpoints to 0. You can respec skills perfectly fine, but don't try to respec stats.

Simplified:

(Make a copy of the Runic Games folder)

1. Ensure you're in My Documents\My Games\Runic Games\Torchlight 2\save\[many numbers]\
2. Open settings.txt and change 0 to 1 on "CONSOLE" and "DEBUGMENUS" then save the file.
3. Load up your character in singleplayer and while in-game access the console using Ctrl+Shift+Numpad 0.
4. Type resetskills and hit enter.
5. Do your thing.
6. Exit the game, revert the changes. 1 back to 0. (I don't know if this is necessary, but I did it anyway)

This was especially useful for me, as I realized I'd gotten so many skills I couldn't fit them all on my bar. I didn't like the idea of them just sitting there... unused. Both Evilseed and I tested this, without any complications.

I can't wait for a stash mod. I need a bigger stash. My insane quest to collect all of the uniques and sets is quickly filling it up.

If you're level 3 or less when you reach the respec guy I think it's free. At least it was for me. I was able to get rid of the starting skill I didn't want.

I think it lasts as far as level 10, but it's only the last 3 points, and it becomes very expensive, very quickly. At level 35 it costs me 4000 per point.

My personal hack for that is to create a desktop shortcut for the game, and rename the icon to the password. Then I have a convenient place to get the password, and always remember to ctrl-c it before I get in to the game.

Admittedly, some people may be confused that I want to play a game called "fe3Tj392nfHBeI"

Damn, taking down that Artificer fellow took flippin' ages!

Worth it though...

Smashy, smashy!

Steam group invite, please!

I've got my Embermage up to lvl 16 or so, methinks. Really enjoying the game, as expected.

Forgive me, but is there much of a reason to have a Runic account? As in, is that the only way to play co-op, or can it work via Steam?

Invited. You need a Runic account for online multiplayer. You can link it to Steam to have TL2 populate your in-game friends list with friends that have the game from Steam.

Hott. Thanks!

Sadly, I'm out of town and this Atom-based netbook isn't all that keen on running games right now, so I'll hop on tomorrow...

Steam group invite please.
