A soldier was attacked at a Toby Keith concert?

http://www.nbc4i.com/news/3746350/de...

I cannot believe this would happen at all, let alone at a Toby Keith show.

I hope they catch the person and he spends some time in jail.

I''m wondering what the hell an Anti-War protestor was doing at a Toby Keith concert. That''s like someone wearing a ""BUSH/CHENEY ''04"" shirt to a Greenpeace meeting. Something seems out of place.

I can''t believe the attacker didn''t get carried out with bootprints all over his ass. I''m really disappointed in Toby Keith fans.

No doubt. It''s the American Way, after all....

OK. Now, how''s Toby Keith, if you can kindly tolerate my ignorance?

He''s a country singer who is pretty jingoistic even for the breed...

Here''s a link to the lyrics of one of his recent hits

He''s a country music guy. His first and best hit was ""Shoulda Been a Cowboy."" He and the Dixie Chicks did a little juvenile back and forth crap in the run up to the Iraq War, he being for it and they being against it. Since 9/11 he''s been unabashedly patriotic, some may even say jingoistic, though it seems to me that to some, voicing any approval or love of your country qualifies as jingoism (Probably better reserved for another thread). He also does jingles for Ford Truck commercials.

I guess I should also explain that I consider the term jingoistic to be a compliment...

Ow. Thanks for the expanations. The lyrics pretty much explained it all. Looks like he could have easily been THE guy who stomped that poor fella for wearing a right T-shirt in a wrong place

That is pretty pathetic of his fans. I mean, if I was out and saw someone on the ground and getting beaten I''d stop it... but no, those people just watched. And if he''d just been injured in the leg a month before he was probably on crutches... I mean, who attacks a guy on crutches... I guess a pacifist would in this case.

My question: why was a pacifist even AT a Toby Keith concert?

Questoin two, why do you guys assume it was a pacifist? Why not an Anarchist, much like those groups at the Seattle WTO protests.

I''d be more inclined to go with belt''s judgement, since we know very little. If I were an anarchist, a Toby Keith concert would be a great place to start some trouble.

...or an anarchist AND a communist as well. Why hasn''t anyone made this usual conclusion yet?!

He wasn''t an anti-war protestor. The person who attacked him was an anti-war protestor.

Right...so I think he was wondering what the anti-war protestor was doing at the toby keith concert...

Oh. I thought he meant the person who was attacked was wearing an anti-war shirt.

No no, I was wondering why an anti-war individual would attack someone on crutches... I mean, give me a break... he''s on crutches... I suppose my use of the word pacifist was a little off -ok, pretty far off- suffice to say, if I saw someone screaming ""baby killer!"" and stomping some guy that was on crunches, I''d kick their ass for being obnoxious.
