Borderlands 2 Catch-All

I rolled a Gunzerker last night. When dual wielding my mouse buttons were reversed for firing. M1 fired Right hand gun, M2 fired left hand gun. Makes sense I guess as my primary weapon is in my right hand, but I found it very confusing. Fortunately I just clicked them both furiously and got by.

There's a setting under gameplay options to stop it from doing that.

Good to know, I was running a Gunzerker and that really bothered me. I didn't see that option anywhere!

You can get a 'legit' second key by linking your account with the Gearbox 'Shift' thingy.

I don't even know what that is.

I think it's under the extras menu? Give them an e-mail, create a password and it pops in a new key for you.

Will try

Spoiler:

and report back tomorrow with my new pistols.

Thanks.

I did this last night and got

Spoiler:

two new pistols.

I came across this bit of random incidental dialogue

random bandit (paraphrasing): I'm a kill you/drink your blood etc.
Axton: Cool story, bro.

*proceed to turn bandit into fine mist*

Do mini-bosses respawn? I ran into one last night that I had killed during a quest, but he was back in the area when I returned for another quest. It doesn't bother me, but it makes it a pain in the arse.

On the other hand, bosses usually give good XP and above-average loot.

He was 6 levels below me so the time investment wasn't worth it for the amount of xp given. He also dropped the exact same loot as earlier in the game.

I agree that the gold key is actually quite useful early on and is probably meant to be something for a lower level character to make use of.

Like others I derped and opened the golden chest immediately upon logging in last night. At first I was all facepalming myself because I thought I made a big fail but after playing through a few hours of content the purple guns I got earlier saved my ass from more than a few reloads. I got the weapons around level 9-10 and they are still the best I have about 4 levels later. I don't think they would have made nearly the impact had I waited to unlock them when I already had a purple weapon sitting in every slot.

Now I know that every characer I roll is going to have access to a decent shotty and sub when they get to Pandora so overall I think using the chest shortly after you arrive in the city is going to make killing Doc Mercy and some of those other early quests much more palatable.

I ended up being pleased that I derped away my key at the end of the night because I would have held onto it until it wasn't nearly as useful otherwise.

Sorry if this is old (quick-moving thread and all):

I ran into a pretty serious glitch last night. It's for the arena missions that you get access to around level 16-17 or so, after

Spoiler:

you have to go looking for Sanctuary.

On the HUD map, there is a large "mission objective is here" circle that is ALMOST BUT NOT QUITE the same size as the arena. If you kill any enemies outside that circle, the mission will freeze up and stop spawning bad guys, leaving you stuck in an empty, locked arena.

Sometimes they even spawn twice, on top of each other!

Running Axon last night, fighting the midget on the bullymong and it warped onto a balcony in the back of the zone (going from 10% health to full health) while a new one spawned behind me. Axon sandwich anyone?

Axon+turret killed them both handily. I thought of how I would have dealt with that situation as Zero or Salvador...at that moment I decided to run Axon from here on out.

That's rough. I don't think anyone else ran into that problem.

The only bug I ran into was where the game somehow that I was constantly killing an enemy in the Corrosive Caves. So, every time I died, I got an instant second wind. Anyways, I would think reloading the game would let you do the arena over again since you were unable to complete the mission.

While it's been mentioned there's an option, when using that option it actually confuses me more when Gunzerker mode turns itself off and suddenly my weapon get's switched. I'll be trying to shoot with the left gun (the primary) then suddenly I'll just starting zooming in.

What I find funny is this option is also in the Xbox version, but you already have right-trigger doing main weapon (and right weapon in Gunzerker) and left-trigger doing secondary weapon in Gunzerker.

So...if you want to screw yourself up on the console version, go ahead and change that setting

I'm still wishing that loot/compass/enemies would also get highlighted over the XP Bar like in BL1. Trying to pinpoint enemies via the minimap is so hit-or-miss for me :/

The Bunker fight keeps glitching. Annoying.

Spoiler:

Had it glitch before it fired a shot, just hovered and soaked damage. Wouldn't die. Second try, it was flying around shooting back, until it got to about 20% health, then it glitched the same way. Going for a third try now.

No clue what's causing it, so I guess I'll go load up on ammo again and try again.

Edit: And third time's the charm.

I have a fun story I forgot to share. I finished the game with 3 public friends. 2 of them were great, and we immediately started playthrough 2. We had one guy join for the very end who was about 1 or 2 levels ahead of us. He was okay, but not using a mic. After we finished the game and went back to Sanctuary, he kept bugging us to duel even after I said no several times because he was a couple levels ahead, and I don't like dueling. It's rather silly. I finally accepted the duel to try and get him to shut up and got the drop on him with a rocket launcher. He kept trying to duel but I quit while I was ahead. Yeah, we didn't invite him to join us for playthrough 2.

Got this at level 6 from the first side quest mini-boss. Still using it at level 9. It's a freakin rocket launcher that does huge impact damage on hit, and then the projectile basically turns into a grenade. I fear nothing... until it gets to close range. Then the exploding bouncy projectiles kind of make things dicey. So I just whip out my hologram, switch to +50% melee pistol, and get slicey.

I will be sad when this weapon is no longer effective.

That is a lot of damage for level 6!

Jeebus, second playthrough is significantly harder. I'm getting one-shot killed constantly when playing my usual style of running in and trusting to the decoy ability to get me out of trouble. May have to break out that rusty old sniper rifle after all.

Are you purposely dropping the "T" in his name?

You'll find another! A younger, prettier version.

And suddenly my pants feel tighter... what is that tingle?

I took a couple screenshots at Tina's place.

Tina's tea party guests. The two placards not facing me are the names of her two toys that you have to retrieve during a side mission. Their names are Princess Fluffybutt and Sir Reginald Von Bartlesby.

I'm guessing this is another 'tip of the hat' to PC players. That's one hell of a power supply.

Link? I'm curious what the fix was, if they detail that.

No real link, just reports that it no longer works.

Indeed! I'm almost wishing it was running on Gamespy again.

(almost)

I thought I could resist temptation and not get BL2 until Christmas. I was wrong. Anyone have spare slots for a 4-pack I can get in on?

Does it bother anyone else when having a weapon that consumes three or four rounds of ammo per shot but doesn't have a clip size evenly divisible by that number? I'm having terrible OCD about it.

For what I have seen that just means you get an extra shot.

This deal on SD will actually get you into BL2 cheaper than the 4 pack (I think... or you'll be right in around there). Activates on Steam. I pre-ordered through them and got it for 36 bucks a week or two ago.

Thanks, Tel! Done and done.....
Since I'll already have BL2, maybe someone will give me willpower for Christmas
