ianunderhill vs. cancer (RIP Nick)

Good luck, ian!

Our thoughts are with you.

Still here, rootin for ya, man!!!

Keep at ian. Still keeping you top of mind.

More positive vibes coming your way!

Whenever you're done pooping, let us know how it all went today!!

Posting from my latest hospital room on the aforementioned iPad. They've got me back on the morphine and will be performing another paracentesis tomorrow. After that, they'll keep me prior to surgery. Believe it or not, I'm glad not to have to go home between. Less than thrilled that it looks like they'll have me on MoviPrep again tomorrow night, but it is what it is. I'm just eager to get through the surgery so I can start getting over the worst of that bit of the recovery.

Thanks for all your support and encouragement, everyone. It's still overwhelming to have so many people on my side in this, though in a very amicable sort of way.

You said it: 'It is what it is'. Just know that we are all rooting for you Good luck!

Keep on truckin', err ... biking?

If it helps, we can order pizza and "pour out a slice" for you. We'll be praying 'n stuff either way.

Man, now I want deep dish at 7am.

Good luck dude, we're all behind you!

You sure that's where you want to be standing after he finishes that MoviPrep stuff?

Good luck, we're all slightly to one side of you!

I just wanted to wish you good luck. We're all counting on you.

Man, drinking this stuff again, I wish I could've had a slice to "pour out". Gonna be days and days til I get solid food again. I'm already salivating at getting some broth. It'll be a real big let down if I'm NPO for over a day after surgery.

Delicious delicious broth, it's amazing how one's taste change after a while without food. Good luck over there!

Not to say that I get your entire plight, but I got sick and dehydrated to the point once that tap water was the single most amazing drink I'd ever had. Deprivation does strange things to the senses.

Hope it goes well, ian!

Kick some ass today!!! Good luck!!

My wife has done the MoviPrep thing before. I feel for you. Good luck with the surgery!

When they turn you loose on regular food, build up slowly. I went straight from the hospital to a barbecue joint and came close to booting.

Hang in there man. I'm pullin' for ya.

Well, it is here when you need it. Hopefully not

See, by that, my shattered, shattered arm was only a 3-5. It was distressing, and I didn't want it to be happening to me at all, but there weren't tears, and the only blood was from shattered glass lodged in my skin.

No biggie?

Ian! Go get 'em, tiger!

Ian is da man!

I giggled a little at that.

Got back up to my room around 11pm. Full of pain and hoses but docs say I'm kicking ass so far. More to come when I can concentrate a bit better.

Really glad to hear it.

That sounds positive. (And I'm sure there's a MoviPrep / asskicking joke in there someplace.) Keep up the fight.

Glad to hear that the doc thinks your kicking ass. Now if you just continue of going and kick that cancer out of your colon all will be golden.
