NCAA Football 2012 Season Catch-All

I thought it was funny that the Stanford students rushed the field after beating a team they've beat four years in a row.

Yeah...as Tom Landry used to say: "Act like you've been there before."

Still, it's good to beat USC. Not that ND would know much about that...

It's a rivalry game, you must rush the field. Just don't do it before the game is over. Twice.

Well I was cheering for the Hogs as they were playing Bama, but it was ugly. They could have had Peyton Manning and it not made a difference. The Arkansas defense was just terrible, but having a true freshman QB sure didn't help. 52-0 loss on your home field sure does sting. I hope the coach hasn't signed any long-term loans as I don't think he will be there long.

We don't have a coach. We have an senile old man who is way overpaid to crack stupid jokes and stand on the sidelines for a few hours each weekend.

Unfortunately we also have an AD is is so desperate/pathetic that he actually said he's willing to make the next coach the highest paid in college football. Hoping the phone will ring like it did last time. Dark days ahead, need a complete change in leadership from top to bottom.

College football as a whole was fun though. ULM almost beating Auburn, and USC going down to Stanford were the highlights of my weekend. I thought it was funny that the Stanford students rushed the field after beating a team they've beat four years in a row.

Everything is now in place for another Alabama/LSU rematch. ;)

Yeah, once again that's the game everyone will be waiting for. I only hate it comes so late in the season. I would MUCH rather start the season against Bama so if we lose, we have more time to climb back up.

Gonna be an interesting season. I'm wondering if Notre Dame really is back and relevant again. I've always been kind of a fan because they always had killer schedules which you have to respect. Not quite so tough this year, but still if the win out until the USC game, they could be a Top 5 team!

Reminds me when the FSU v. Florida game (last game of our season) determined the championship game.

Wide right!!

Saw my former boss yesterday, an FSU grad. The first thing he wanted to talk about was how the Aggies had Florida on the ropes, but let them off the hook.

It's tough enough!

#8 (at the time) Michigan St., #18 Michigan, #9 Stanford, BYU, #6 Oklahoma, #13 USC? Then throw in the second tier of Miami, Pitt (are they good or do they stink??), Purdue, and Boston College. No 1-AA schools, unless you count Navy and Wake Forest.

+1... nice one

THE BAND IS OUT ON THE FIELD!

No one not playing both Alabama and LSU gets to complain about the difficulty of their schedules while warhawk and I are around.

Reason #49 SEC fans suck to have around.

So much for the new tone!

Should we really care about the opinions of someone who only views football as a time waster until basketball starts?

Yes, you should take it very, very serious. College fandom is serious business!

I was amused...

He doesn't wish that! Kansas: Ole Miss/Kentucky as Ole Miss/Kentucky:Alabama!

Now that's just mean. I think even Kansas could beat UK this year.

I'm not so sure.

But I don't think the Free State and the home of the John Brown Ale would roll to well in Dixie.

Not complaining. Never will about a hard schedule. Happy not to have to okay LSU or Bama, though. Couldn't deal with the embarrassment.

As I said, it's hard enough.

I'm worried about Rutgers. Their fans tell me that their the twelfth ranked defense in the county and have a running QB. Bad news for the Hogs, but everyday is kind of like a living nightmare anymore so I don't see how things could get much worse. Interesting piece of data, tickets for the Alabama game Saturday were selling for as much as $1000 dollars. Fifty yard line tickets to Rutgers are around $54 and you can gt into the stadium for as low as $6.

And Kansas would beat Arkansas this year.

Edit: Remember how John L was is debt, filing for backruptcy?

$25 million

Smith reported... he had just $300 in cash and $500 in his checking account.

Holy sh*t man. I always had more than that even when I was a poor college kid.

Wow, that's just crazy. I can't believe he would get hired with that kind of baggage. Why would you invite that kind of distraction? Craziness

You were a rich college kid, then, by comparison with me!! When I started grad school I didn't have enough money for a bed after all the move in expenses!

EDIT: AND I had to walk uphill in the snow both ways for work.

Sweet mother of awesome! A sign seen in Arkansas country. Well, across the border in Joplin, MO.

Best sign ever!

yeesh...his monthly expenses are rather close to my yearly income after taxes. I would like to assume that's interest on all of that debt and not just blowing cash left and right.

Edit: great sign!

Espn was just debating the Arkansas situation, and said no one but mitt Romney has had a worse two weeks than John L.

Again with the politics in unrelated threads, man, seriously.

I don't see too much to watch this weekend. The only ones I'm looking forward to are BYU-Boise, Notre Dame - Michigan, and Florida St. - Clemson.

South Carolina - Mizzou could be interesting...maybe.

I'd like to say that I support our general aversion to stuff like racism accusations here in non-P&C land. I think this joke is not over the line though. I mean, it was vanilla enough for ESPN so it's probably safe for this thread.
